We love Turkish food and were excited to find a Turkish restaurant near our hotel.  We had a fabulous meal at a very reasonable price.  The service is very friendly and we were happy to discover this was a BYOB establishment.  We brought in a bottle of white to enjoy with our dinner, which was as tasty as I remember my meals in Istanbul. The owner (we presume) is a very friendly and sweet woman who greeted us at the door and was happy to make recommendations, and was genuinely delighted to hear we enjoyed our meal.  We ordered zucchini pancakes and a delicious simple salad of baby greens with EVOO, fresh cracked pepper, salt, and lemon juice.  A great start.  All tables are given baskets of pillowy-soft pita bread and an olive spread, which we could have eaten by the pound.  We also ordered doner kabob (beef & lamb) and a pureed cauliflower & cheese side (not sure of the name) which could be eaten by fork or dipped into with the pita - you can guess which option we chose!  The kabob meat was soft and flavorful, sliced perfectly thinly, and served atop bulgar wheat, rice, and onion salad.   We are both huge fans of lamb meat and weren't disappointed in this plate.  The gracious hostess brought out complimentary pieces of some of the best baklava either of us had ever had - flaky, soft pastry, ground nuts, and just the right amount of honey - yum.  We were very pleased with the size of our order, and were relieved that we didn't each order our own entree.  If you like sharing lots of dishes as a couple of group, this restaurant will suit you just fine.
Our waiter seemed a bit "in the weeds" but was friendly when he did get around to us. If you're in a rush to get out, you may get impatient with waiting for a bill, but we were content to wait a bit and didn't feel rushed to finish our food or wine.
We are headed back for lunch today on our last day of vacation, and are excited to try the lentil soup, chicken kabob, and more of the heavenly baklava.
This is a must-eat for anyone visiting the Boca Raton/ Del Ray/ Deerfield Beach area.

Just arrived: 3:00pm. My lady & I are the only ones in the entire restaurant yet the service still sucks. The waiter is more interested in sitting & eating with his friends than taking care of customers. Never offered us anything to drink, just put tap water on the table and walked away. Came back, took our order with attitude and walked away without a word. ..... Here comes the food.... brings our order separately and drops them in front of us without a word.... still no offer of a beverage or anything else. First and foremost the lamb pretty chewy. Gyros have a funny aftertaste, Bulgur tasted like old socks. Dip acitity far too high. Sautee average. Good rice & bread, yet whole experience way overpriced!

On the way out we had to take time to inform the chef & owner of the horrible service. Fortunately, they had a great attitude and seemed sincerely thankful that we took time to let them know. I think that waiter is screwed. But you shouldn't be a server if you don't want to take care of people.

Having my parents celebrating New Year's eve with me, I was a bit limited as to what our plans were. I wanted to avoid downtown Fort Lauderdale... way too loud and crowded.  So instead I did a quick search for NYE restaurant reservations.  Most - if not all - of them have special fixed-price 3 or 4 course meals. However, by announcing "complimentary champagne at midnight" they feel the need to charge exorbitant prices for said NYE meals.  I have no problem in paying for a "special event" outing, if it includes maybe some sort of entertainment or other "specialties" not usually included in the regular dinner menu. But I was having a hard time paying $100 per person at a place where normally it would cost $60 per person (including wine!)

To the rescue came Anatolia Mediterranean Restaurant.  They didn't advertise a fixed price menu option but noted that they'd be serving their regular dinner menu at their regular dinner prices. PLUS.... it's a BYOB place!.  With a super low ($5/bottle) corkage fee, this place was a godsend to celebrate a nice NYE dinner with my parents.

The owner of the restaurant was working that night and came over numerous times throughout our meal to check on us.  She was charming and very welcoming. And because of this (and the excellent quality of the food) I will definitely be coming back.  If you want authentic, delicious Turkish food - Anatolia Mediterranean Restaurant is for you!

I stopped by on a recent visit to Boca Raton.  This is a must visit place when in Boca Raton and you like Mediterranean cuisine, or want to try it out.  They have a wide selection of authentic dishes, the ingredients are fresh, and the spices are perfectly balanced.  The octopus appetizer dish is to die for and both the beef and chicken gyro sandwiches were delicious.  Complimentary hot pita bread wedges and tomato based dipping sauce, as well as, BYOB for a small corkage fee are big pluses.

What a fantastic dinner I had at Anatolia with my family tonight.  From the moment we walked in I felt so taken care of with a kind greeting and acknowledgement.  The menu options are plentiful with choices to meet anyone's preferences....even my very picky brother.  The service is stellar and you won't feel forgotten even for a minute,  with constant drink refreshers and  pleasant attentiveness that is never overbearing.  Take the servers suggestions on house favorites,  take a moment to chat with the lovely owner when she stops by,  and save a little room for a light yet satisfying Turkish dessert.  You'll be glad you came.

We had a very nice meal at Anatolia this evening.  Fresh bread was warm and tasty and the tomato/oil dip had a great flavor to it.  Salad was large enough for the two of us. The Baba Ghanouj was a bit on the mild side but with some fresh lemon mixed in it worked pretty well.  Lamb shish kebab was VERY well cooked with tender meat and not overly-spiced.  The Karniyarik was a nice slice of eggplant that was well cooked topped with a fresh flavorful ground lamb and a nice sauce.  We left very full and will definitely return.  The only constructive criticism I can offer is that the service seemed a bit chaotic... Best way I can describe it is a few newer inexperienced servers coupled with a lot of running around in the kitchen.  It's not a big negative, but to me the difference between a 4-star and 5-star rating is as much the consistency and quality of the overall service experience as it is for the food itself.  EVERYBODY was pleasant which is worth noting.  Bottom line, I have a feeling they have taken note of some of the service issues people have expressed in the past and are making genuine efforts to create consistency.  Keep it up!

Mushroom soup, a special, was not.  No robust mushroom flavor.  I got the appetizer combo of hummus, babaganoush, eggplant salad and something else I can't remember, but it had a lot of tomato..  I love hummus, but this was just chickpea paste.  The eggplant salad was excellent and easily the best of the group.  They accommodated my gluten sensitivity by providing romaine lettuce spears for me to dip in the dips.  My companion had the ground lamb kebab which passed muster.

This has quickly become our favorite restaurant in south Fla. The food is very tasty and the portions are tremendous. My wife has ordered the chicken kabob which is excellent. I have had the gyro plate and an eggplant dish which was excellent. Appetizers are all done with great care. Don't end without the finest baklava around. Service is excellent. Bring your own booze as they don't have a liquor license but that is no drawback

For absolute value in Palm Beach County, this place is it!!!

Literally just leaving dinner here with my boy friend and I am astonished anyone could have anything negative to say about this place. The food is exquisite. You MUST order the zucchini pancakes and the baklava. Those alone are worth making the trip, but all the hard-to-pronounce dishes were full of authentic flavors...... Not to mention, it's BYOB. The owner is incredibly sweet and tells me she really takes these reviews into consideration. My only problem was the lack of parking. I parked in a nearby shopping plaza and definitely worried about getting towed(it's happened to me before), but alas my car was fine and my hunger thoroughly satisfied. Anatolia, you haven't seen the last of me!

I came here with a big group for a family dinner, and though it seemed like it took forever to get here (from So. Miami), I was told this place was beast.

When we walked in the door, it was incredible how easy and seamless they sat us all down, gave us menus, and brought us corkscrews. Oh yeah, this place is BYOB. Looking at tables around us, the other patrons looked to be veterans as they all were popping bottles like the set of a hip hop video. When we all decided to get three (or four) of their all-in-one dishes, I had a feeling that that night was going to be a good night. We opened a few bottles and it didn't take long until the food arrived.

The greedy in me wants to tell you the portions weren't big enough, but i'd be lying if said I wasn't more than satisfied after all that was on that plate (See picture). Everything was delicious, and the restaurant itself set up a good vibe for wine and family.

All in all, this place has sparked an interest in mediterranean food for me, and I've been eating falafel and kibbeh like crazy since.

Ambiance is minimal , but service and food superb. My friends and I tried a myriad of delicacies and enjoyed each one of them. There was no issue with having more bread or sauces or really anything that we requested.
The staff were clean and pleasant and even the owner came by to greet our table.

Wasn't sure where I could go in South Florida that would satisfy my vegan needs and my carnivorous father but this place satisfied all.

Turkish food rocks! The bread has been wonderful at every Turkish restaurant I've been to -- NY, Florida, and California.

The four of us shared platters of hot and cold appetizers -- all vegetarian. The flat little falafels were quite yummy and moist. The hummus and babaganoush were rich and creamy.

Dad and his wife had lamb dishes and practically licked their plates clean. My partner had a calamari dish that was much appreciated.

To top it off we shared a delicious and not very sweet piece of baklava (okay, sometimes this vegan has a bit of honey...besides it's just past Rosh Hashana).

Decent food, but incredibly slow service.

My friend and I came here for lunch a couple days ago. We started off with some hummus which was somewhere between average and above-average. I then had the Begendi, a dish I've never tried before, and I very much enjoyed it. I ended with the almond pudding which was also good.

Although our server was friendly, I'm not sure I've ever had such slow service before. It took forever from the time we asked for more bread, to us actually getting it. Same goes for our diet cokes, and also our check.

One other thing bothered me. At one point, a woman whom I'm assuming was the owner came out and greeted the three or four tables that were there. She made a comment to us and to another table that the waiters must be trying to save her money, because the place was so warm. The restaurant was indeed warm, and we admitted that to her. She said that the AC was on, but the doors were open and that they were going to cool the place off. The doors were never closed. The restaurant never cooled off. I would rather she had never brought it up, then to have brought it up and then not deliver.

In the end, the place isn't bad, but nothing about it is drawing me back to visit again.

    Really really good!
We had the grilled octopus which looked real freaky but tasted amazing!!!!

We also ordered the spinach and Gorgonzola calzone which was delicious!

And lastly we ordered the stuffed eggplant. Which was alright.

Overall great service, great experience and the bread with olive oil dip they serve at the beginning is sensational.

Btw-- it's byob which works out great because you can splurge on other dishes.. and you definitely want to splurge on other dishes!

So it was my first time to Boca Raton (well, anywhere in Florida for that matter), and also the first time meeting the boyfriend's parents.   Needed to find a good restaurant for the night.  No pressure, right?  Thanks to Yelpers we made the decision to check out Anatolia.  It was pretty busy for a Sunday night.  Nice atmosphere, low key yet had a nice vibe. The staff was very attentive and friendly, seemed like a family restaurant.

Hmm, what's Turkish food?  Apparently Turkish food is a lot like Greek food.  We shared a cold appetizer plate that included hummus, baba ganoush, grape leaves, and veggies as well as a Greek salad.  Unfortunately I don't remember the names of anything we had but they were sure yummy!  My bf had some sort of lamb with vegetables and potatoes that was flavorful and hearty.  I had one of the specialties that was a stuffed eggplant with meat on it and some tomatoes on the side.  His mom had what looked like stewed lamb that was also very tasty.

Portion sizes were generous--could easily take half home for another meal later.  BYOB too!  Prices were reasonable and overall great experience.  Anatolia and I both seemed to "pass the test".

As I've written before, I do love middle eastern food, and was happy to find one nearer to my home than my usual go-to spots. So my dad (who is Persian) and I ventured up Federal Highway for dinner.

When we walked in, we saw that while they appeared to be decently busy, there were also plenty of open tables. So when the host asked if we had a reservation, we said no and looked at each other as if to say, "seriously?" But the host fetched us some menus and sat us in the middle of the restaurant. He turned out to be our waiter as well.

To start, they bring you a basket of bread and a small dish of olives. We devoured both - my dad said the bread tasted just like the bread from the bakery in his hometown in Iran. To start, we ordered the yogurt and cucumber dish. They brought quite a large bowl of it, so we had to ask for 2 more bread baskets in order to eat it. It was delicious and the cucumber wasn't overwhelming, but by the end of it we were full... and we still had our main dishes coming. Thankfully, I only ordered a small portion of the falafel, while my dad opted for the chicken kabobs.

My dad loved the chicken - it was marinated and flavorful, and I even snuck two pieces for myself. It came with a small side salad on the plate, as well as rice and what appeared to be couscous. We both tried the couscous and were not fans. As for my falafel, they were good, but I got tired of them a bit quickly. I ate three of them before calling it quits. We got a to-go box for the remainder of the chicken and falafel, and I also ordered their rice pudding to go so I could try it the next day (and it was quite good when I had it for breakfast!).

All in all, I liked this place, but I prefer my other usual Mediterranean restaurants.

I came in town for business and Yelped a place to eat.  I found Anatolia.  I went for lunch and was offered a lunch menu, which I like a lot.  They offer a sandwich, fries and drink for $11. Delicious and fresh. The tsastki sauce was excellent. Chicken was great. Restaurant is nice inside and prices are reasonable for what you get and the portion size is good.

The ambiance of the place is not bad.. The food is quite authentic & tasty - if you are into Mediterranean. The mixed grill entre was definitely a good pick. Prompt service too..
You can take any type of drink with you - even open bottles & they did not even charge us for the coke we mixed our Captain Morgan in! We ordered so much food, caught a nice buzz & ended up with a $40.00 bill. Definitely made my night!

One of the positive of moving to South Florida has been an abundance of Greek/Middle Eastern restaurants that have great vegetarian fare which is not just tasteful but also healthy - we found one part of that at Anatolia but not necessarily the whole package.

While Anatolia is actually a Turkish restaurant, its menu has quite a lot in common with other Middle eastern restaurants and had plenty of dishes that were of interest to us. Set in a strip mall, we almost missed it since the lighting up front wasn't very helpful. However, on entering we found a cheerful staff who maintained that attitude right through dinner. Not too crowded for a Friday night, it seemed mostly regulars at the tables, which was a positive sign.

My wife was in the mood for some wine but we weren't handed a wine menu so we figured it was a BYOB place since there were other patrons who were enjoying a bottle. We ordered a Hot Meze variety plate and a couple of other items. The lentil soup was flavorful, especially after squeezing in the accompanying lemon and our three year old enjoyed the bread (which was a little different form of pita) as well as the falafel. We found the other items in Hot Meze plate quite appetizing as well - however, there seemed to be a little too liberal use of oil, that wouldn't necessarily meld with the healthy perception of Mediterranean food! Other than that though, we found our experience quite positive and look forward to visiting again.

OK so this is a genre of food that I am pretty hard to please in. Not only did I live in Baltimore's Greek neighborhood and was completely spoiled, but I also grew up with my sister's fiance's family from Lebanon.
    The
Food was on the high end of good. A couple of the dishes were great. The presentation was spectacular and with the open kitchen you were assured of clean preparation conditions. I took off one star for the extremely friendly but slightly slow service and the noise level in the place. It seemed that the other patrons in the place had their hearing aides turned off causing them to yell at each other throughout their meal. One woman was so loud we swear we could hear her even while driving away. This was not my all time favorite Greek dive in b'more but it was good food.

I ate here with four people the other night and was totally disappointed, all of our dinners were either missing things or were served  with the wrong things.  But the most offensive was that I was served almost raw chicken, the peppers were not grilled and they serve onions raw.

When I called and spoke to the owner he said that was no big deal and never apologized.  I strongly advise you to dine elsewhere as there are many good choices in Boca.

In response to the owners comments, the menu states "sumac onion" and when I asked what that was I was told it was onion with paprika I was not told that consisted of raw onions, nor does it state that anywhere on the menu.

Also when I called the owner said "What do you want me to do?" and I answered I would like to get some credit on my bill, and was told to come in and he would do that.  When I called the next evening to see if he was there he got on the phone and told me he had thought about it and did not want to give me any money back as serving wrong, missing and raw food was "No big deal" .  Never was I offered  a chance to return for a free meal and he never apoligized.

You may not have guessed this but... I like Mediterranean food.

Thanks to the fact that my friend wanted to surprise his fiancée by having and engagement/birthday celebration, now I have a new favorite place for hummus! Fine, you're right, I didn't get the hummus because odds are I have hummus at home. Touché reader, touché...

Seriously though, I was impressed with this place because I am used to Mediterranean food, and I absolutely loved it. We had some classic appetizers that were great, but my god, when my lamb chops got to the table, I was in heaven! These were moist and perfectly grilled pieces of work. They were accompanied with... I forgot, these things were too good.

I realize that grilling meat becomes a process that, if perfected, should be relatively easy to do. However, for some darn reason, restaurants (even many Middle Eastern, Greek, Mediterranean-- whatever you want to call it-- ones) screw up lamb!!! But not this place, they've perfected it, even when they are as busy as they were last Saturday night.

The service was also great. A woman that looked like she was either an owner or manager passed by our table making sure we were happy and that the staff treated us well. That is something that does not happen often!

As you may have read from other reviews, the drinks are B.Y.O.B! How freakin' awesome is that??!?!? You can go to your favorite retailer, buy a bottle of wine (in my case craft beers) for 1/3 the price it would be at any restaurant, and take it there!!!

Last thing is the last thing. Desert! We had "kunafa", which is a very traditional Middle Eastern desert. Google it, you'll be like "dayum I wanna try this!" Well, let me put it this way; it was better than the one my mom makes! Seriously.

So, my friends, those are many (but not all) of the reasons I am so happy that I was invited to go to this extraordinary place.

    (Thanks Sam and Dana)

Anatolia is fairly new in Boca Raton but has quickly become my favorite Middle Eastern/Mediterranean restaurant for lunch or dinner.

The atmosphere is casual and attractive and they offer patio as well as dining room seating. It's a family owned and operated restaurant, and the service is as outstanding as the food, which is incredible.  I particularly enjoy their fresh bread, Beyti and Lamb kabobs and the hot appetizer medley. The portions are healthy and the prices reasonable.

My Nat King Cole impression:  "Unremarkable. That's what you are."  Yes, the place was crowded, yes the sun may have been in their eyes, and yes the dog may have eaten their homework, but there's no excuse for tasteless greasy lamb on an "open calzone,"  tasteless calamari and a tasteless large salad (shared) with seafood literally dumped on some romaine lettuce.  Maybe we came the wrong the night or maybe the dog REALLY did eat their homework....  Good service though. Really, if you're only interested in fine service, please come here.  PS Have had better Turkish food in Anatolia for $5 in a place with one table with three legs and one arm with three fingers on that hand.

My husband and I went here last night after seeing other good reviews on Yelp and we were impressed. We arrived around 8 and didnt have a reservation so there was a 15 minute wait but they got us set up with an outside table so we could enjoy some of our wine while we waited (its BYOB- which I love). They got us set up with a table inside and as soon as a table was open by the window- they moved us there! It was nice of them to do that. I ordered lamb chops and my husband ordered the Octopus which was HUGE!!! 3 HUGE octopus tentacles. My dish was good although it was a little dry- 4 lamb chops and 2 type of rice- I think some sort of hummus or something would have been good to moisten it up, but it was still really good. Overall this place was really good.

Growing up in a family with Mediterranean background it can sometimes be difficult to fully enjoy this cuisine in a restaurant. With that said, my very first bite of the basic traditional chicken skewers with bulgar pilaf and a side salad, brought me right back at home. This is home-style cooking all the way. And if you're not of this culture, it feels like it was cooking from your childhood friend who invited you for dinner. Best of all its BYOB( for those of you who don't know- bring your own alcoholic beverage) without a corkage fee. Make it a group or intimate affair- your choice..... delicious.

Decided on this place after reading reviews on yelp. Fist time eating Turkish food so I am not an expert but I was very happy with the entire meal from appetizers to dessert! Service and atmosphere were very nice.
