I went in because I was in a lot of pain, and had a camping trip and 8hr drive scheduled the next day. I'm really glad I did! Sonia (I think that was her name) was awesome! She was able to fix everything, and I'm feeling much better. She was also good at asking if the pressure level was ok.

The rooms are clean and nice, and they give you water at the end.

edit: my wrist is hurting a week later from the way it was pulled in the massage. it wasn't bugging me at all before the massage. dropping one star for that. my back is holding up ok, which is why i went in.

    Simply Amazing!

I have never received a massage before at an actual massage location. I am extremely happy I picked this location because they made have a very comfortable and relaxing experience.
When you walk in it feels like you automatically enter relaxation mode.  The guy at the front desk is really nice and greets you with a warm welcome. You then are asked to fill out a form to specify the reason for your visit. I love that you can specify the exact area that is causing you tension or pain because at other places you are asked when you on the chair or table. I don't want to be talking when I am getting a massage just relaxing and enjoying it.
Since it was my first time I didn't know what type of massage was which so the guy at the front desk gave me a combination of Thai and Swedish. I had the most amazing massage. I paid $50 for an hour of heaven. They played music that added to the moment, Loved it.

    In Conclusion:
    - The prices are amazing!
    - Very Friendly and Good Customer Service.
    - You can specify the areas that you would like the most attention too and the pressure you would like to be placed.
    - The music they play is amazing it really adds to the moment

Let's just say I convinced my boyfriend come with and he loved it, which is odd.

I get massages all the time but this is my first Thai massage. Me and my 3 friends went to this place and it was EXCELLENT! We we all got great service and we all agreed we had the best massages we have ever had. And all of us are big fans of geting massages. They knew what they were doing. They knew what they were talking about and they were great at communicating what was they were doing.

Also the front guy desk guy was really friendly and professional. We had really great service and we were really impress. And all this at a groupon price! And their regular price is a great deal so I would totally come back.

One more positive thing is that there is free parking in the back. This is unusal in LA/Hollywood.

Just finished a 75 minute hot stone massage with my wife that we purchased on Living Social.  I feel incredible now :-D

From the outside the place looks kind of back ally and I had my doubts.  Parking is a little odd, you have to park in back (off of Kling St) and then make your way around to the front.  However once you walk in, it is a totally different story!

The inside is beautifully decorated.  Very quiet and very tranquil.  The lobby area has some nice seating which is good if you need to wait.  We didn't have to so we were led directly to our rooms.  The hallway to the rooms was dark with nice little candles to help guide you.  The rooms are all private, but have pocket doors that open up for the couples massages.

They instructed us to disrobe and left us to it.  The rooms were very warm, dimly lit, and had some nice soothing background music going.  There was some aroma type scents throughout, however they were not overpowering at all and were a nice touch.

Then the massage began... I was asked my preference for soft, medium, or hard pressure.  I asked for hard since I had a lot of stress to work out :)  My masseuse certainly obliged.  She went to town on my shoulders and back.  There were many points when she was actually up on the massage table to get the proper leverage and pressure.  Amazing!

The stones were very hot, almost to hot for that first touch, but after that initial touch the heat penetrates your muscles and.... wow... fantastic.

75 minutes later i was sad that it was over haha!  A nice touch I hadn't had before was hot towels they wipe you down with afterwards so you don't feel oily.

There was no pressure to hurry and get out of the room which was nice, so we could just relax for a few minutes before returning to reality.  They had 2 little bottles of ice cold water for us when we left the room which was perfect.

Overall, this was a great experience, especially for the price.  I will be going back for a deep tissue massage, I am very excited to see how that goes :)  I would definitely recommend this place!

I passed by getting massage around 9 pm. It's very noisy with alien language outside almost half hour. I heard Thai ladies yelling outside the room while session was ongoing. My therapist did really good job, but I wasn't relax because of that noise. So, I wasn't impressed at the first visit.

    Was this review …?

To damn bad we are from out of town, because after the amazing massage my boyfriend and I just got, we would become regulars here.

We are out here from the east coast visiting my boyfriend's sister and brother in law and they suggested this place to us. We put it off all week, and finally after coming back from the beach decided to get a couple's massage. His sister suggested doing the combination massage which is swedish and thai. YES! so happy she suggested that.

Do not let the outside busy street fool you, once you walk into Anantara you are hit with warmth, soothing music, and smiling faces. Their prices are MORE than reasonable for an hour massage and the service is MORE than expected. The place was super clean, smelled wonderful, and the bottle of water at the end was the perfect ending to a satisfying massage.

I would recommend Anantara to anyone. You will not be disappointed here!

I am a fan of the hot stone massage here!  A friend recommended this place and I would definitely go back!  The staff is friendly and technicians deliver a great massage that cured my achy body from a day of golfing and running.

There is parking behind the building and the facility is clean and the décor/atmosphere is tranquil.  There is also a private shower attached to the message room I was in which is really nice.  I was also able to add on a deep tissue to the hot stone massage to get the best of both worlds.

What a great experience! Got a fantastic deal from living social for Anantara and an even better massage!

I wasn't sure how this place would be from the pictures that were online of the outside, but I guess that's why you don't judge a book by its cover...

The hot stone massage was the best massage I have ever had and was so relaxing. When it was done, my girlfriend and I both looked at each other and couldn't stop talking about how amazing we both felt.

I'm not a big on getting massages all the time, mainly because I don't have the money for it lol. But I cant wait to go back again!

    What's not to LOVE?
    It's new.
    It's incredibly clean.
    It's tastefully decorated.
    It's incredibly reasonably priced.
It's everything I could possibly want and need in a massage spa.

The first time I went I had a body scrub/massage combo. 30 minutes per treatment. The body scrub portion of the treatment is a little challenging because they don't have one of those specially designed wet rooms for these type of treatments. It's more of a dry scrub applied on the regular massage table, which isn't as comfortable as it could be if you were on a table that enabled a water rinse. Once the scrub is done, the therapist opens a door in the treatment room that leads you to a shower so you can rinse off and come back for the massage portion.

Long story short, I'd say to skip this treatment and just go for a straight up massage. Thai/swedish combo. The most recent time I came here I made a reservation for a couples massage. They opened up a connecting door between two separate treatment rooms, so we had our own massage table. The rooms were nice & toasty, soothing zen music played overhead, they had candles lit & there was a pleasant, clean smell in the air. Lavender.

    Enter: Relaxation mode.

I've always been a fan of Thai massage, and they strike a nice balance with the sweeping Swedish modalities. They use these hot satchels on certain pressure points..a therapeutic touch, while they massage a different part of your body. You start lying face down on the table and the massage begins with hot towels to clean your tootsies. They work from the bottom up, and once they're ready for the flip side, you'll feel like you need a human sized spatula to flip your melted muscles over.

When the massage is done & you exit the room, your therapist is outside waiting with an adorable pint sized bottle of water to flush all those toxins away.

Come here. De-stress. Soothe sore muscles. Slow down. Invest some of that hard earned money on you-time. And keep this fine establishment in business, please.

Awesome hot stone massage!  I bought the Living Social voucher for a 75 minute hot stone massage.  From the moment I walked in I was impressed.  From the pristinely clean environment to my fantastic masseuse I had.  She was sweet, professional, and used exactly the right amount of pressure.  One of the best massages I have had.  I wish I had bought more when the first promo was offered.  After my massage I asked if there were shower facilities I could use.  She took me back to a beautiful huge glass shower.  A wonderful experience all in all.

Being in I.T., I'm on the go all over the valley doing all sorts of computer repairs so I've seen a few spa's and I just had to comment about this place.  it makes a man feel special and relaxed from the music, the modern designed decor, and the friendly welcomes. when you enter from the front.  i came to do repair work on a down computer and sound system.  the atmosphere made my stressful working day into a more relaxing one.  i decided to return at a later date for a massage.

When escorted to the room, I felt like i was VIP.  I like how the rooms are laid out, it makes a person feel like they are high status to get to be here.  I believe my masseuse  was Kate?  She is only there on Tuesdays from my understanding and WOW!!! She is the first masseuse that could inflict deep tissue pain on me!  I'm athletic and lean so most have a hard time applying deep tissue with anything other than elbows.  Kate with her hands made me feel pain in such an amazing way.  When you wake up sore and refreshed the next day, thats when you know it was done proper.   And that was her being soft with me too!  With that said, I feel confident to suggest everyone looking for a good an amazing powerful deep tissue to seek Kate.  I vouch for her!  :)

I've never gotten a massage before, but the deal on Groupon made me give in - and I'm so delighted I did.
I got a 60 minute hot oil and body scrub, and it was the most luxurious experience I've ever had. My masseuse used a lot of pressure during the hot oil rub (full body), which really got out some knots I'd been having in my upper back for awhile. The body scrub part was really sticky, but felt refreshing after the zen of the oil massage.
Luckily, and to my surprise, a connecting door led to a shower - the kind that you'd imagine in a upscale hotel suite. When I came out, she had cold water on a tray for me. Above and beyond.
The atmosphere of the spa is very upscale, clean, and warm.

The only minor (way minor) negative aspect was the music that was playing in the room for the whole hour - relaxing, quiet acoustic, but only one song over and over. But the massage was so good, what you're hearing should be the last thing on your mind for most of the time.

Great experience, great prices (even without Groupon!), will go back for sure.

I bought a voucher from Living Social and was really excited to try this place. I had seen the great reviews on Yelp. and I can say now that they are spot on. Two weeks ago, I had a Hot Stone massage that was fantastic. The spa is beautifully designed and it was one of the best hot stone massages I have ever had. I have been to other high end spas, and this place is a thousand times better, and you cannot beat the prices. I just returned from a deep tissue massage, and again, my masseuse Jasmine did a fantastic job. I am looking forward to going back again soon.

I just got back from my Hot Stone Massage and what can I say, this will go down as one of the best.  This place has it down, it's clean, wonderfully decorated and has great prices. My hot stone massage included some stretching towards the end and it was great.  They have a new customer in me for sure, I will recommend this to my friends and family.

This place is amazing.  I came in with low expectations because of R&R Thai (Massage place in Cerritos).  This place totally changed my perspective of Thai Massages.  It was so relaxing.  The atmosphere was great.  The staff was amazing.  I would definitely go again regardless of the living social deals.

Very clean, great price & amazing massage.  My wife and I got the Thai & Swedish combo.  We're both in the service industry & musicians and I play hockey.  They totally took all the stress out of my neck and back.  I feel like a ton of bricks were lifted off of me.  I highly recommend Anatara Thai Spa!

I'm not a massage guy. Or a spa guy. Or a use lotion more than once a month guy. But a friend gave me and my girlfriend a gift of a massage for two and we went to use it. And it was good. Very good.

Here's what I'll say. The limited amount of times I've been to thai massage places, they didn't look like this. It was kind of an east asian version of Dwell magazine. And the music was the kind that was soothing and relaxing but didn't have a beginning or an end near as I can tell. Which is pretty perfect for this sort of thing. But ultimately you go for the massage. And I got one here that made me think I have a shot at as a Russian Gymnast at some point.

    But in a good way.

It started with a wet cloth rubdown which, I think for a lot of places, is just the wipedown part so they can get to work. here it was part of the massage, the opening salvo. That led to an oil rubdown that was really nice and this intensive foot rub which isolated a knot I didn't know what down there. So my masseuse left the room and I kind of thought that was it. I started getting ready to get up and leave, feeling like it was pretty worthwhile. Then she came back in.

    And climbed on.

I'm not really sure how to put this except to talk about the details and let yo figure it out. At one point she had my feet up and was using them as a chair while I think her heels were in my back. Then there was a part where she was kneeling on my lower back while she pulled my arms and made me look like a 1940's hood ornament. And there was also a bit where, if you'd walked in, it would have looked like we were using leg locks from 1980's WWF wrestling. This may well be the most flexible I've ever been and it was done by a 5 foot thai woman who used my instep as a stool.

But it all worked. When she finished I didn't have a stress in my body and when I checked in on my girlfriend she looked like she'd sent out all her bones for dry cleaning. I asked if she enjoyed it. She hummed yes. She also said her masseuse complimented her on her booty several times. I got no such compliment. But then I kept on my boxer briefs.

IN short, a strong recommend. If you want a good massage with a kind of stretching you normally need yoga for, go for it. And the prices...very good. That was something I saw on the way out. I was walking out and thinking "I really need to thank my buddy for the amazing gift." Then I saw the rates. These guys are more reasonable than those clip shops on sunset where they slap your neck and tell you you're done. And not only do they do a good job, they look like a pottery barn catalog. Well I may not be able to credit him with a ton on cash on this but wouldn't have found it without him. That counts as much as the money anyway.

Got into a car accident last November. I've been getting massages on a frequent basis. Heard about Anantara via Yelp and my 2-hour combo massage was great! My healed broken leg and wrist feel better. Cookie was my masseuse, and she did a great job. Can't wait to go back, it's also a great space--nicely designed and relaxing.

I live close by,  love Thai massages, and so when Anantara opened up, I had to give it a try.

This massage shop is really unique.  For starters, it is beautifully decorated with a large and ornate waiting area.  The private rooms are comfortable and relaxing.  This place has the atmosphere of a high end spa, but is reasonably priced at $50 for a Thai/Swedish combo.

Another unique thing about this place - Prior to the massage, the masseuse washed my feet, and then had me lie face down on the massage table with hot packs on my neck and lower back.  I've never had that happen before a massage, but I could feel my body start to relax before the massage had even started.

Through luck of the draw, I received a massage from Kim and it was fantastic.  Kim is strong, and therapeutic without being painful.  The Thai portion of the massage really worked over my muscles, and the Swedish portion felt awesome.  She even gently worked out a few knots, deep tissue style, on my shoulders.  Altogether invigorating - Will definitely go again next month.

One minor annoyance - To avoid paying for street parking, park BEHIND the building!
