Arcadia, CA
I came here today with a friend of mine after the rain finally let up allowing us to get out and hit some balls on a sunday afternoon. We went around 2 pm and it was quite empty. The staff in the pro shop were very helpful, explaining the different prices and how to use the ball dispenser. We both got a bucket of 80 balls (large) for $8 which is comparable prices to the ranges I regularly hit at in Irvine.
The range itself is a double-decker so if you want to boost your ego, I'd recommend going upstairs to give your ball a bit more loft :P
The range and what I observed of the course itself was nicely maintained. Overall it's a nice course hidden away in the Anaheim hills. -

Ah, good 'ol Anaheim Hills. Or Anaheim Ills as my buddy calls it.
The Course: The pros of building a course on the side of a mountain are nice views and elevation changes. The cons are you never know where you're hitting the ball and it's almost impossible to have a flat lie.
AH is a good course, greens are in very good shape and for the most part, so are the fairways. Some of the tee boxes on the back (#17 and #18 I think) were shot. I had a big problem with blind shot after blind shot. Pehaps when you play this course a 2nd and 3rd time you figure everything out...but is it worth coming back to? For the right price it is but they don't have a ton of deals here.
Facilities: They get a good score here. Very nice clubhouse and decent driving range. Nice people too.
Food was excellent even though the halfway house was closed when we played. They bartender made sandwiches for us when she probably didn't have to.
Pace of play: 4 hours on an early Friday afteroon, but with all of the blind shots I would imagine this place gets pretty slow on weekends.
Value: I always find myself saying this, but why couldn't Anaheim Hills be like $10 cheaper? If you want to go and whack the ball around, score or hit your irons off a flat lie, this isn't your place. That is my personal opinion, my other 2 buddies liked it a lot and have played it again since. I haven't.Listed in: SoCal Golf

Beautiful scenery and it's almost like the scene from "The Sound of Music"!
I had no idea what this course was going to throw at me when I decided to play this course with my buddy and I quickly found out that this course can be scary.
First off, the pricing was a bit steep, but that fee does show that it goes towards maintaining the greens. Second, they mention that they can take food out to you on the course if you are playing, but that didn't happen (I had to go back to the lounge and pickup my food). Third, what's up with all those bugs (during the middle of the day)?
Playing this course was interesting and I was content with it overall and was sure glad I carted while playing, otherwise I think I would have died by the 5th hole. You might need to bring some extra balls because you can lose them easily if you don't have a good tee off.
Might play this course again in the future if I find a deal, otherwise one and done! -

AH golf course is nestled snugly into the hills from which it derives it's name. The course is not long, but it does posses quite a few dramatic changes in elevation. As many reviewers have pointed out, several tee shots are blind. I find that this adds to the charm of he course. The greens sre in good condition most of the year and play fairly true if not a little slow. All in all a decent course.
Price: It's a muni so prices are pretty low for this area. I think it's about $75 on the weekend to play.
Also, you can't walk this course, so if your playing for exercise you should play elsewhere. -

If you want to feel like you're in Asia without actually finding your passport and flying 16 hours around the globe then come to Anaheim Hills Golf Course. I have never felt like more of a minority anywhere else in Orange County. Overall, I think this course is very nice visually. However, it can be a bit scary. You hear "fore" a lot and you never know where it's coming from. This course is very tight and it is easy for your shots to end up on a different hole. The pace is a little rough which makes for a loooooooong day. I played here for only 20 bucks which was nice, but I probably wouldn't play here again just for the sole fact that I was literally scared the whole day because of errant shots and because fellow players do not speak English which makes it that much scarier. I will say though the staff couldn't be friendlier. Everyone who works there was super nice!

If Anaheim Hills GC was a girl, she'd be a "butta face". Look it up on Urban Dictionary. Kicking body, but her face is a deal breaker.
Situated in the opulent hills south of the 91 freeway. Slope rating is quite challenging and humbling for someone with my handicap. Insane doglegs that make you doubt your "no guts, no glory" attitude. Tee boxes that hit onto fairways down below and overlook some great scenery. All of it--damn good.
As for the greens, that's where the beauty ends. Unfixed divots plague the green. Crab grass penetrates the fringe. The edges of the hole are warped and unfixed. It's just bad. Is the greenskeeper at fault? Who knows. All I know is that some golfers need to learn how to fix their damn divots. Respect the greens, son!
So there you have it. Anaheim Hills--has the body of a Degas, but the face is definitely not of a Botticelli. And if you're too young for that reference, just remember "butta face". -

Thank you for listening to my earlier suggestion of hiring a beer girl. Lauren did a great job of getting us buzzed and keeping us there. She did such a good job in fact that I almost couldn't finish my round. By the time we got to 18, I had to let my brother drive the cart. Once again, thank you management!
Thank JC himself for us being able to walk back to Dads! Phew, might have to cab it next time even though it's a block away. Tootles!1 Previous Review: Show all »

I reallly like this course. It was not long, but could be, from the blacks. Challenging coures with lots of elevation changes. It was really slow the day I was there, and I played horribly dure to the pace.
Only critisism is that the greans are very tricky due to a combination of difficult pin placements on uneven greens. Makes it much harder. Good overall. -

This is our home course. Great that they are part of Youth on Course for range baskets for our kids. But, they don't participate in the golf part of it which means we might as well take our kids to play Tustin Ranch. For a municipal course, the clubhouse is nice. The golf course is nice for a municipal and the pricing in Orange County. Banquet facilities are a bit difficult to negotiate because they have stringent minimum & maximum group sizes per their various rooms, so you end up paying for it no matter how many people you have. Staff's pretty nice. Course is hilly and walking isn't allowed but students walk which make it difficult for then to complete the course as well.
The range is also down the hill and staff won't let you check in early so you can take a cart down the hill to warm up. So, you have to walk down the hill, warm up, then carry your bag up the hill to check in and get your cart. -

Played yesterday. One of the finest golf course in OC. Very nice scenery and nice green. Tee and fairway condition are also good. Hole 3 par 5(east) and hole 9 par4(west) are very challenging. The cart has GPS so it's convenient to pick the club for the next shot. Would come here to play again.

I haven't played on the green here, only been to the driving range. It's a double decker, making it easier to leave the house to hit some balls during the hot summer! The staff is really friendly and helpful. The golf instructors even gave me some left over balls they had.

One of the multiple places on our hunt for a wedding venue. What can I say? This is your typical, nice, sorta-picturesque, clean, newer construction, ample parking, cookie cutter country club.

Challenging and serene, Anaheim Hills proves that quality golf can be affordable. Excellent turf conditions and setting in the hills. This is an excellent golf course, friendly staff and a beautiful new club house. Greens here can be really tough!

I golf here once a year at the Cal Poly Pomona Civil Engineering Golf Tournament. I know cheap plug for Cal Poly, couldn't resist. This course is something, hilly and beautiful. If you are a beginner be prepared to lose a dozen balls. if you are a good player you will probably lose a sleeve of golf balls. The clubhouse is well maintained and staff is cool. The price is right if you want to golf and you don't mind a little frustration.

Anaheim Hills Golf Course is probably one of the better and beautiful golf courses in Orange County. I've been here two times and I've never been disappointed by the greens or the scenary. The holes are wide open yet there's still challenging obstacles. There are a hand full of holes that are opposing to houses but it's never an issue having to worry about hitting the ball into one of the backyards. Lots of Par 4s, a few Par 5s and 3s. Overall, I would totally recommend this place to spend a weekend afternoon on the green!

This was very playable for my level of golf. I will go back. Just wish the drink cart wasn't so missing on a Friday morning.

this place is cheap but, unlike many of the girls in the oc, it ain't easy. what i like the most is that they let a twosome go out as a twosome, they don't pair you up into a foursome with some random strangers. what i like the least is the driving range, you always hit off mats.
