I always thought it was cool and kind of weird to name a park (and a street) after a deadly snake. I know I was old enough to know better by the time I found out about this park, but I always secretly wondered whether this park had once had snakes.
Well, it doesn't. I believe it used to have a piece of play equipment that looked like a snake, but I might be making that up. What I don't like about this park is how small it is. There just aren't that many public places for kids to run around in in East Whittier, and the size of this park kind of epitomizes that fact.
Still, it's cool to find a park hidden away like this, and if you live south of Whittier Boulevard, it's nice to have an option to bring the kids without having to cross a dangerous street.Listed in: I'm Whittier Than You
