    Much better than it looks.

The location is the only reason I'd hold out on giving it a 5. Just wasn't that impressive  but once you get inside its nice and cozy.

I had the penne arriabata which I may have spelled wrong but sure was delicious. It compared to the pasta I had in Rome which was divine. My wife had the bucatini amatriciana and that was great too. The rest of our party had different meals they all enjoyed.

We also ordered the palermo wine and the Santa margherita. Both delicious.

Unfortunately my brother in law paid for us and didn't let me cover my plate but from what I remember it was like $15 a person for food which isn't bad. Would put it at no more than $25 a person after drinks and stuff.

    I'd go back.

The ambiance at Anacapri is lovely, but the food is well... okay.  Not terrible, but not exactly memorable.  Expect the standard Italian fare - an assortment of pasta dishes, as well as a few meat and veg. dishes like chicken or eggplant parm.

So why only two stars?  The garlic rolls... Oh wait, they don't have any! What they do have, are dried out garlic toasts, which don't exactly do the job sopping up all that wonderful tomato sauce.

Desserts fell disappointingly short.  Few things were house made.  We ordered cannolis... the cannoli cream was a little "off" and the shell was soggy and stale.  Sucky.

Love this place... Hidden in a busy shopping center, you will find this little gem.  I've gone to the Anacapri in the Gables which is a bit bigger than this location.  The food was fresh and the service was good.

I recommend making reservation during the weekend because it does get packed and it isn't very small.

The brushetta is absolutely DELICIOUS!!! I can order only that and dessert and my meal could be complete.   I am NOT a tomato lover and I convert every time I come here.  But of course you MUST try the pasta... Ohhh que rico!!!!

The only negative is that it gets LOUD... EXTREMELY loud... so if you are looking for a quiet  little Italian restaurant don't go during their busy times. If you don't mind, then go.  The staff/host were extremely friendly and made us feel comfortable by coming by our table occasionally and striking up conversation.  You don't see that too often at restaurants.  Overall, a very pleasant experience and we will definitely be back soon :)

I've tried this place several times & have even taken friends there, at the first experience, it was fine, good food, somewhat friendly server...the second time we went back was because we were in whole foods & were craving Italian, so we went back. Then lastly, we gave it another shot, because they do have some decent Italian meals, but the service was the worst Miami has to offer...three strikes & your out! Very disappointing!

One of the best Italian food in Miami by far! Love the chicken marcela and chicken France's to die for! True Italian food and service!

When we were driving over to this place for dinner, I was asking the people I was with "but, is the food there good???" and although they had eaten there numerous times before, they were like "I think so, I mean, decent. I mean, I think it's not bad. But, really, I can't remember." And, really that's kind of what this place is like. Not great, not awful, just kind of there....

I got the gnocchi and it was fine. Starchy and the like and I opted for marinara sauce rather than the cream sauce it came with. It also came with prosciutto and peas, which on the menu sounded great. I was thinking large, thin, delicate ribbons of  pig sitting daintily amid peas and gnocchi. Not so much. It was tiny, hard, chopped up pieces of ham swimming in sauce. Not bad, but not good enough to return to this restaurant. Plus, the side salad before the meal was small, sad, and mostly iceberg lettuce. Service, however, was stellar.

    Anacapri was...uh, hmm...you know, I can't remember. Okay?....I guess?

I love their soups! I also had the most amazing and unusual raviolis stuffed with pear and cheese. I loved it. The sauce they were in was great and fresh. It didn't taste like your typical "Italian" restaurant alfredo sauce...it was evident that it was made from scratch with traditional ingredients.

This place is so small, and exclusive feeling. It's hidden in a shopping center, and that's just the way I like it! If it were crowded, it would lose some of its appeal. It's a prefect spot for a nice, quiet, deliciously romantic outing.
Each time we come here, it's an enjoyable experience! I always recommend their snapper francese to anyone who goes here! So yummy!

We went there for dinner last night around 8pm. The hostess was very friendly and professional. The service is very good: prompt, professional and polite.  The hostess recommended the eggplant balls which she stated were made fresh that day. Meatballs are the specialty on Friday.

I ordered them for the main course with linguine and pink sauce. My wife ordered the lasagna. We had the lamb meatballs for appetizer and the torta de la nonna for dessert.

In general the food was fine.  I will admit hat based on the reputation I had been expecting something really good, but it was was just fine.  Our meal with the cheapest bottle of malbec ($30) plus food, tax and tip was $100. I think its too expensive.

The eggplant balls were delicious. It was a good recommendation from the hostess. The lamb meat balls thought were small, dry and not flavorful.  My wife's lasagna was very very oily. The pink sauce (which in general tends to be a heavy sauce) was too heavy. The dessert was very good.

Once upon a time this place was good. Now, not so much.  Don't. I mean DO NOT order the veal chop special.  Overpriced, poorly cooked, rubbery.  Waiter and management did not care to address issue of poorly prepared dish.  Fugeddabout this place.  as if they were real italians anyway.

My favorite Italian food period. Anacapri offers the best quality of everything. From the simple to the elaborate, I have never been served anything I didn't like.

The ambiance is also beautiful, not at all like the stereotypes given to Italian restuarants.

    FAVORITE ITALIAN RESTAURANT EVER!
My family has been going there for years, they are very good friends with the owner.  We celebrate just about every event here.. from birthdays to mother's day and just going to eat dinner.

The Pear Fiocchi is TO DIE FOR.  I have brought many friends here on different occasions and not one person has walked away without raving about this pasta.

Comfort food - you'll know it when you need it. That's probably the best way to view Anacapri, Miami's mini-chain of Italian restaurants. It really does feel very homelike in its Tuscan ambiance and subdued lighting, which is punctuated by the boisterous table conversations (which you will not be too far away from, considering it is a rather small space).

The food is equally inviting, though I have noticed they are starting to overdo it on the butter. The linguine carbonara's egg cream sauce and pancetta deserved top billing but were drenched in it. Their pink sauce is excellent, and the gnocchi (a potato-based pasta) works very well with it.

On Sunday nights, they have a "Neopolitan Dinner" special that includes pasta, entree, glass of wine, and coffee for $30! The entree was a 'ragout' consisting of spicy sausage, tender meatballs, and a strange concotion of ground beef with pine nuts, raisins, and some green (spinach?). Whatever it was, it was overcooked, making it very dry and not too tasty. But, the tomato sauce was nice and sweet with little acidity to it.

    Dessert - tiramesu, of course.

Actually wanted to give it 3.5 stars. Anyways, it's not a bad rest. Not bad  for the price. Service is pretty good. They are more than willing to create or modify any dish you want to your liking. Nice salads, Caesar salad needs to be a bit colder? Wine list is appropriate for rest location. Corking charge is $15.00. Will def return.

Party of twelve for lunch (reservations).
The tables setup was awkward but quickly changed to accommodate us.
Service was slow. We waited a long time to order and equally as long for appetizers to arrive.
Appetizer portions were huge. The eggplant could have been a meal for me.
Drink refills were not always prompt.
A request to substitute risotto for penne as a side to the veal mafia was denied with a simple "no".  The request was rephrased to not serve the penne and please add a side of risotto.  Would have been nice if the waiter offered risotto as an additional side when first asked.
The entrees were generous proportions and delicious!  The porcini mushroom risotto was the best ever tasted by those who tried it.
Some members of the party ordered coffee with dessert but the offer was not extended to the rest of the party.
The cheesecake was mealy, not creamy.
The meal took three hours.  It could have been two if better staffed.
The wait staff wore tee shirts with phrases on them and the restaurant logo on the back. Tacky. The hostess was poorly dressed in raggedy blue jeans.  Not in keeping with the elegance of the decor. If I were the proprietor, I'd set a stricter dress code for the employees to convey a better ambiance.
All in all the food was four and a half stars but the service and staff brings the rating down to three.

From appetizers to desserts, we had a great experience.  It had been a couple of years since we've been here, but the food is still exceptional.   My kids loved the calamari and the fried mozz.  My Shrimp & Asparagus Risotto was probably the best risotto I've ever had.  Classics like the Chicken Marsala & Chicken Parm were outstanding, not to mention the Fettuccine Alfredo.  The Tiramisu &  Chocolate Anacapri were great, but you have to try the Flute Limoncello.  It was light and the perfect ending to a great meal.  $24 for a bottle of Banfi Chianti Superiore was a great deal.
I'm glad we thought of going there tonight, it's definitely going back on our favorite restaurant list.

I really liked this restaurant. There is really nice ambiance and the food is authentic and delicious. Our waiter was never more than a second away as soon as my water glass reached a certain level the waiter miraculously appeared and filled it. My chicken marsala was excellent and the penne pasta in garlic was also very good.

I would certainly eat here again and would recommend this location to anyone who loves good Italian food in a nice relaxing setting.

Very good italian food with a nice variety of pastas, meat and seafood dishes on the menu.  I have enjoyed the veal marsala; it's very flavorful and full of mushrooms.  Have also enjoyed the ravioli for a lighter meal; the menu lists meat and cheese raviolis.  They usually have seafood, porcini mushroom and spinach ravioli which are not listed on the menu and very good.  Ask the waiter for them.  Their soups are very good and hearty; you could make a meal out of the minestrone soup.  The dining room is pleasant, with white tablecloths and cloth napkins and nice service.  It's busy on the weekends, so make a reservation.

Outstanding.  Many people don't know about this place, which is good because its small intimate dining room cannot handle too many people.  If you're going during peak dinner hours make reservations or prepare to wait.  The food is unbelievably good and the prices are reasonable.  I have been to almost every Italian restaurant and this is my wife and my favorite.

I see that I am in the minority with my review here but......  The decor of Anacapri is very soothing and not at all "italian kitchy".  It is reminiscent of some of the finer dining establishments in Rome and the proprietor is an Italian immigrant from Sicilia, which explains the authenticity of the dining room.  We were seated immediately (we had reservations) and the place was busy.  Throughout our time, there were never more than two empty tables and turnover was fairly rapid.  There was an abundance of waitstaff this particular evening and all were dressed very professionally with dress pants, shirts and ties.  We were very pleased that no one introduced themselves as, "Steve, and I'll be your waiter tonight".  There was one problem, however, with our server in that he had a very heavy Spanish accent and each of us had difficulty understanding the other.  It was a little frustrating because my husband was trying to order a veal chop "medium rare" and the conversation morphed into a version of the "who's on first?" routine.  Also, in the background, the music was belting out "Feliz Navidad".  What happened to Buon Natale?  We're sticklers on authenticity when it comes to regional decor, music, etc. so, go ahead and call us snobs.  Much to our chagrin, the service was miserable.  My entree arrived while I was in the middle of eating salad and it was plopped down without a word, as was my husband's and our dining companion's.  The chicken cacciatore was excessively oily.  It was very tasty but simply a good puttanesca sauce poured over two chicken breasts.  I make a wicked cacciatore myself and this was definitely sub-par and not worth the $18.95.  My husbands veal chop was perfectly cooked and the side of arugula was tasty.  Our companion ordered one of the nightly specials and declared it to be "okay" but a bit heavy on the oil.  As the busboy was clearing our table, he dropped a fork from the pasta in the middle of the tablecloth.  He gave it a cursory glance and proceeded back to the kitchen, leaving it there in its little tomato splatter.  My husband hissed, "classy!"  Because we obviously were not in the "regulars" category, we paid the bill and left and I don't think anyone noticed as there were no "goodnights or thanks for coming".  It is what it is.  We're hoping it was just an "off" night but prefer Trattoria Luna a bit farther North.  We'll try Anacapri again some evening but not too soon.
