The cast brings back to life what San Diego was like 100 years ago. You sit at the table and the characters do their stuff, not just on stage but throughout the entire room - the room is the stage.
At $125 a pop, the food was fit for a 2 year old. The food was awesome but just way too small, especially if you've had a bottle of wine to yourself. Winter squash bisque was a beautiful masterpiece but I probably got 7 spoonfuls out of it.
Before you are seated, there is a cash bar, antipasta (serve yourself), and people walking around with plates of hors'doeuvres. The salmon mousse on endive... good on the taste buds, bad on the breath. Damn, those things looked like deviled eggs and got me excited. The entire event had a very country clubbish and old boys club vibe going on. I learned some new words while elbow rubbing: "Marvelous," "Splendid," and "Indeed Sire." (yes, that is an "e" you see and not a misspelled word."
Amateur booze situation, very disappointed at the Del. No booze served except wine at the table. If you want an adios or Long Island (you classy guy you) or beer, you have to walk to the cash bar. It's a good way for them to make money because you could only buy bottles of wine at the table.
Wine selection is very limited, a total of about 10 wines to choose from with a ridiculous markup. A Moet & Chandon White Star (a decent $25 champagne at Costco) was $100. Folks, that's a 400% markup.
2005 BV Century Cellars Cab that is $7 at the store was $35, that's a 500% markup. Three bottles later (and tax and tip on top of those bad boys), you could imagine how much money they made off us. The "champagne" toast was cheap sparkling wine (I forget the name) that I saw at Henry's last week for $1.99. Hotel Del, shame on you.
Overall, had a good time but damn, we were starving.

Wonderful experience! Great food and entertainment. Not cheap, at $160 per person, we had the best seat in the house! The price range from $115-$160. Something that everyone should experience at least once.
