Carol was one of several florists recommended to me. I know almost nothing about flowers and we didn't a lot of money to spend on them, so this was the one part of planning that I put off as long as possible. After initial consultations and some research, the other florists either had VERY high minimum spend requirements or were located down in San Jose and charged travel fees to SF that would have eaten up much of our very minimal flower budget. Also, I was looking for something a bit non-traditional that would incorporate a lot of seasonal produce (we got married in October; I'm a big produce/foodie/CSA person), which didn't seem to go over well with some of the "white rose wedding" florist types.
When I reached out to Carol, she responded very quickly, and had quite a few great ideas that would incorporate the fall colors and produce I had in mind - fall leaves, squashes, gourds, kale, chili peppers, pomegranates, brussels sprouts, artichokes, and purple artichokes. We sat down with her, and she thoroughly covered every aspect of the venue (Julia Morgan Ballroom) that might want decoration, while noting which areas we could skimp on to save some cash. She was clearly very familiar with our venue, and made some suggestions that would work better in the space than the original ideas I had come up with. And just as important for us, the proposal came in within the pricing range we had discussed - and frankly, was less than the proposal from the "very reasonably priced" San Jose florist we originally were leaning towards.
We met again with her about a month before the wedding to finalize everything, and she had given us leeway to add to or subtract from the initial proposal (amazing for my piece of mind given how easy it is to go over-budget on wedding-related services). We gave her a lot of freedom to use whatever produce she could find that worked with the general fall scheme (it was mid-September, but almost no fall produce was out at the time we last met pre-wedding), and it turned out amazing. I've uploaded photos for reference, but everything was spectacular - from the purple and green artichokes + firey calla lilies in my bouquet to gorgeous centerpieces incorporating the fall produce. I could not be more pleased with the end product, nor with the very responsive service we received throughout the entire process. I have recommended her personally to a few friends who recently got engaged, and would highly recommend her to anyone else looking for more traditional floral arrangements (she has many examples in her books) or something a bit more outside the box like we asked for. -

As soon as I met Carol, I knew she was the one for me. She is very relaxed and down-to-earth, but her flowers looks like someone's who is a stickler for details!! We could not be happier with her work on our wedding flowers; people were actually fighting over who was taking centerpieces home! I was extremely vague in my directions, and yet she just talked to me until she had an idea of the aesthetic I wanted and took it from there.
All I said was, no bright colors, nothing "tall" and a "natural" look; she created absolutely gorgeous pieces of art using texture and shape, white and green, fresh flowers and succulents, the holders covered in bark. It was completely perfect and my bouquet had just hints of pink, it was lovely.
Also, I was one of those brides who was last-minute asking for things and she took it all in stride. I thought we couldn't have our flower girl throw petals in the church and she suggested a "flowerball" instead, an idea I loved. In the end, we didn't need it, so she found just the right spot that could be "dressed up" with such an item!

I chose to meet with Carol after seeing her positive reviews on yelp. I was delighted to have a wonderful consultation for flowers, and my mom and I felt very comfortable choosing her for my wedding.
Flowers were beautiful and Carol was very helpful to advise me in budget-sensitive flowers, arrangements and options. My reception was beautiful and I loved the bouquets! -

I started looking for a florist to put together my bridal bouquet about a month before my San Francisco city hall wedding date. Carol responded promptly and agreed to arrange a bridal bouquet, groom boutonniere, mini boutonniere and mini bouquet for our day. Her price was reasonable and she was very helpful when I explained what I wanted. I absolutely LOVED my bouquet, and the boutonnieres and mini bouquet were perfect, too. I'm very glad I found An Added Touch for my day!

Carol did the florals for our wedding this year and she absolutely exceeded our expectations. She was able to make my vision come alive within our budget where everyone else was quoting us exorbitant prices for the exact same thing. She even went above and beyond her role as a florist to advise me when I was having trouble with one of my vendors at the very last minute and essentially saved the day.
Every floral aspect of our wedding was outstanding. Our bouquets were gorgeous, even the toss bouquet could have been used as a bridal bouquet! The reception centerpieces were amazing and transformed our ballroom into a dreamy wonderland. Even the venue event coordinator had to comment that our wedding reception was the most beautiful she'd ever seen at their location! The guests were completely floored! By the end of the night, there wasn't a single centerpiece left...and these were epic 4 ft. manzanita branches. It's still beyond me how most people fit them in their cars.
Thanks to Carol, our wedding was a huge success. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone for a grand event. You definitely won't be disappointed! -

Carol was the florist for our wedding last month. Before meeting with her, I interviewed another florist. Honestly, I never had any imagination of my wedding flowers, all I wanted is a natural and spring feeling. That florist got very frustrated by my lack of "vision". She made me feel like that I had done something terribly wrong. The meeting with Carol was a lot easier. She listened to me carefully, then gave me all kinds of suggestions. With her help, I figured out what I wanted. The whole process was stress-free. I also told her that we had a tight budget and she said she would try her best.
Carol is very organized and professional. She checked out our venue before the wedding because she had never worked there. She also kept in touch with all the other vendors (without bugging me). At our last meeting, she showed me the pictures she took at the venue and made great suggestions.
On the wedding day, her flowers were so beautiful and everybody loved them! Our guests even stole the centerpiece on our table. :( What Carol did was way beyond our expectation. LOVE LOVE!
Oh, did I mention that Carol managed to keep everything under our tight budget?? -

I found Carol on Yelp last year and worked with her to plan the flower arrangements for my August 2010 wedding. Carol is a treasure! I would 100% recommend her. Additionally, her prices are very reasonable! Honestly, look no further! Her work will exceed your expectations, she is very personable and kind, easy to work with & communicate with, and can come through in a pinch, if necessary. (She made a beautiful fresh wreath last minute for my wedding).
Carol provided flowers that were more beautiful than I could have imagined. The sunflower bouquets for my bridesmaids looked fantastic and my bouquet was so fragrant. The terracotta centerpiece pots, the sunflowers above the entrance, and the wedding arch were all unbelievable and were the perfect vibe we were going for. Everything was so fresh and stunning--the perfect garden yet fun feel we were going for.
It was a pleasure working with Carol throughout the whole process and her ideas, suggestions, and care were invaluable. I would definitely recommend Carol to anyone I know!
You don't have to worry about a thing; Carol will come through and surprise you with how beautiful every one of the arrangements will be! Her flowers really set the tone for the event and create an all over ambiance for the occasion. -

Carol is a Godsend for every bride to be. She will totally work with your budget and will give you exactly what you're looking for.
I've been to several weddings with Carol as the florist and each time Carol's executed flawlessly.
You can get a gorgeous bouquet for under $150 and your BM bouquets for under $100. Most places will charge double this!! -

Words can't describe how amazing Carol's work is - it's just incredible! The flowers for my wedding were beyond my expectations- they were just gorgeous! I had a vague idea of what I wanted, but nothing concrete and Carol was able to take my visions and turn them into an amazing creation. She worked within our budget and was sensitive to the fact that we weren't able to do everything, but was creative with how we used flowers, candle lighting and touches to really enhance the look we wanted.
It's hard finding a florist that understands you, listens to you and also provides their own ideas in a non intrusive way, but I was able to find one right here in working with Carol at 'An Added Touch'. She is truly incredible at what she does and I can't tell you how many people commented on our flowers at the wedding! Just amazing! This is the place to go for any arrangements you need whether it be for weddings, special occasions or parties! -

Thanks Yelpers! I chose Carol to do the flowers for my March'11 wedding based on all the reviews on here and I was not disappointed! Carol is incredibly professional, creative, and kind. She created a mix of high-low centerpieces with gorgeous, top quality flowers and all of our bouquets were gorgeous. My sister, who has worked as a florist, even commented what beautiful work Carol did! Carol was able to do beautiful work and stay within our budget. I would recommend her to everyone!!!

Carol is an amazing florist and designer! She was the florist for our wedding on 5/9/09 and I can't tell you how happy and delighted we were with her final product!! My wife did most of the planning with her but I was there for our first introduction and Carol was very knowledgeable, professional, affordable and hands on. The bouquet's, boutonniere's and chapel were so bright & cheerful. When we entered the Ventana Room at the Golden Gate Club for the reception and dinner the room just lit up with the beautiful table arrangement's and color! To top it all off we were able to share the arrangement's with our guest's since Mother's Day the day after the wedding. Carol is amazing; her flowers are picture perfect. I had a small, quickly organized wedding that happened a few days after Christmas. Even at short notice, Carol was 100% there. She created the flowers exactly as we discussed, the chuppah was exactly what we wanted -- I highly recommend Carol because her Added Touch helped make a beautiful wedding day for us.

Carol is amazing and the flowers she did for our wedding were beautiful. I had a limited budget and Carol did such a great job, really transforming the space we had at the Grand Hyatt to make it look elegant and opulent at the same time. Carol is really hands on and does everything herself, and doesn't just leave it to anybody, so her work is really perfect and well done.

All I can say is wow!!!
I had a very small wedding (only needed a bouquet and some corsages and boutonnieres plus a few centerpieces for one long table) and Carol had no problem with this!! In regards to the review that said she wouldn't give them the time of day because their wedding was too small, I don't think this could have been the reason! Sometimes she is a bit short in her emails, but don't be put off by this, it is just the way she writes (and probably because she is busy, it's not that she doesn't care!). Must also add, she replies very quickly which is AWESOME, makes things much easier!!
I planned all of this from Vancouver, Canada via email and even through a jumble of photos and descriptions, Carol somehow knew exactly what I wanted. She even threw in a few extra "expensive" flowers that I thought I wouldn't be able to have in my bouquet as I was trying to stay within a budget.. all to my surprise and contentment! :)
I couldn't stop taking pictures of my centerpieces as well, she did an unbelievable job and completely nailed the look I wanted (I was very nervous about this and she blew my mind). Everyone at dinner was raving about them as well! She was also very accommodating with working with the restaurant we went to and with delivery and pickup.
Don't doubt this woman for a moment, she is amazing! -

Carol is such an amazingly talented florist who is easy to work with. Not knowing much about flowers, I went to her with only a few pictures and a color scheme. All of the reviewers are SO correct. Carol is AMAZING! She did our wedding in May 2009. Not only is she a amazing, designer, but she is organized and dependable. I think she sent the quote like 24 hours after we met. She also seems to know what you want before you even say it. She COMPLETELY blew us away when we walked into our wedding hall. I never thought it would be THAT fabulous and beautiful. We were stunned how amazing it was. My mother (who is also a florist in another state) was very, VERY impressed. AND she worked completely within a budget and made it look like we spent a fortune. And on mother's day weekend! Any future event we need flowers, we will go to her.

I cannot say enough great things about Carol and her amazing creations! I came to her with a vague idea of what I wanted...an enchanting wild forest feel to my wedding reception. She took that idea and ran with it creating the most beautiful room I could imagine. Even the caterers were impressed! We had a limited budget and she did not skimp on quality or quantity of flowers and special touches. I recommended her to any and all brides or event planners. She far exceeded my expectations and I can't thank her enough!

Carol was amazing!!! I am not into flowers, so this was the hardest part of my wedding for me. As I told her when we first met, I would rather my now husband take me to a nice dinner instead of buy me flowers!! I went to her house for our first visit and felt comfortable with her right away, I loved her pictures and her attitude. She threw out a ton of suggestions and she was great. I ended up picking the color orange for my flowers. My mom passed away and orange was her favorite color so I wanted to bring that out in my wedding. I thought orange would be difficult to match but we used teal and it was beautiful! As my husband and I were announced at the wedding, we both turned to each other and said OH MY GOD THE FLOWERS ARE AMAZING! We had a mix of high and low center pieces and she did a bed of flowers around our cake. She also helped us coordinate getting bows to put around our chairs. She was extremely helpful, and checked in with me frequently throughout the year of planning. She even confirmed with the church and reception site on her own which took a little stress off of me!! I loved working with her and loved her work product. I had people asking me fore her card at my wedding and would recommend her to anyone getting married.
