What a marvelous experience to walk into Amy Romano's Skin Care Salon. Immediately you are welcomed by Amy's friendly smile. My first thought was, "What a difference this is from the ordinary salon where unpleasant odors and loud talking abound." Amy's environment is clean, relaxing, and wrapped with the sounds of beautiful music and a soothing fountain.
I have been getting facials for many years and I feel she is the BEST aesthetician I have ever met. She is extremely gentle, uses only natural products and always adjusts her routine to what each client personally needs that day. I can't tell you the specifics of what she does but I know I LOVE the way my skin looks when she is finished. Her head massage is special! The hour with Amy is one I treasure!
I introduced my teenage daughter to Amy and she also looks forward to her visit to Amy Romano Skincare. We are fortunate to live in Oakland but if you don't, it is worth the effort to make the trip to her lovely salon. -

I've been seeing Amy since she was at Natural Expressions salon in Montclair. She is a wonderful esthetician. Her waxing skills are superb! No matter how unmentionable your hairy unmentionables may be (ahem), she does a meticulous job when it comes to hair removal. She is super-experienced (I think she's been in the business for about a decade). She is always professional and polite and very, very sweet.
I am so happy that Amy has her new spot. Her private studio is clean, modern, with very convenient parking. I like it much better than Natural Expressions--that salon was okay, but the decor was very "Country Kitchen". Not for me.
If you want a pro, go to Amy. -

Heard about Amy Romano through a friend of a friend and Yelped her to find out more. I got tired of the other *un-named* salon I used to go to because I always felt like they wanted to get me in and out quickly....almost like I was a bother. Not very gentle or good for body conscious ladies either!
I'm not a stranger to a bikini wax but I was terrified of getting a Brazilian. It doesn't matter how many times I get waxed...I still get nervous every time! And who doesn't get nervous when you know someone is going to be up in your *business*? Amy was wonderfully friendly and thorough, and she made the experience totally stress free.
Her office is super clean and modern. It smells nice and there's even classical music playing. It might sound crazy, but I thought it was cathartic just to sit there and wait. The price is more than reasonable, especially considering the amount of personal attention you get.
Amy has another permanent customer now. Super happy I went and I'm going to tell all of my friends about her. -

Amy Romano is GREAT! I went to her when she was at her old salon in Montclair and I must say, she knows what she is doing. She is sweet, friendly, listens to what you want (i.e. eyebrow shape, amount of hair you want removed, skin sensitivity issues, etc.) and is always willing to offer product advice if you ask, but doesn't push it on you ... and she is really good at making you feel at ease unlike some salons I have gone to that make you feel like cattle or ashamed of your body because it actually grows hair in places they don't find acceptable (gasp!).
I would urge everyone who uses an esthetician to try Amy Romano's services and find out what a gem she is! Plus her current location has tons of parking and you don't have to drive around endlessly like you do in Montclair. -

I, too, have been seeing Amy since she was with Natural Expressions. I have been getting waxed for years and she is one of the best in the business. I never have any difficulties with ingrown hairs after seeing her, which I used to get, and she's thorough and quick. Amy is not only a complete professional, but a great person as well!

I first went to Amy in 2005 on the recommendation of a friend. I was in a complete panic as I was re-connecting with a former love after 16 years and wanted to look my very, very best. While I loved Amy, I didn't like the salon she was in at that time. I came back to Amy when she moved into her current location, which is relaxing, quiet and lovely. I appreciate what Amy does - she is very skilled, knowledgeable, and one of the nicest people you will ever meet. I love that she uses Pevonia products, they are fantastic. Going to see Amy is like diving into a beautiful waterfall pool on Kaui - and then coming out looking and feeling beautiful. And, yes, whatever she did on that first visit worked - I've happily been with my handsome man ever since. Thanks, Amy!

I too started seeing Amy in Montclair, and since she moved I now have a standing once a month appointment with her. She does well with all aspects of her craft. She knows my skin so well I don't even have to tell her what kind of facial I want - I just let her make the best judgment. She also gives the most relaxing facial and shoulder massages I've had.
I will say - her new location adds so much to the experience. No noisy hairdryers, people stomping by and laughing loudly - it's just so much more enjoyable.
I would, and do, highly recommend her services. -

Why do I go anywhere else? She always does my eyebrows perfectly and her location is ideal for the east bay. Treat yourself to a brow wax and facial.

I don't treat myself to skincare often enough, but when I do I go straight to Amy. Turning 40 this year, I'm starting to realize that I need to take better care of myself, head to toe. So, like I have done for at least 8 years, I booked an appointment for a facial with Amy. I love that she isn't judgmental about my lack of consistency. She is always glad to see me and extremely helpful about recommending a regimen that takes my lifestyle and budget into consideration. After my facial (and brow wax), I left feeling at least three years younger. I had a question about one of the products that I bought from her, and she happily took my call, explained the product/process to me, and told me to call anytime with questions. She said to think of her as part of my team and that is just such a refreshing, lovely thing to hear. I am determined to take better care of my skin, thanks to Amy's professionalism and personal attention!

I've been going to Amy for facials for over 5 years. She is knowledgable, gentle and customizes my treatments based on my needs each time. I don't trust many people with my skin but I have all the confidence in Amy to take the best care of my face!! Oh, and the head massages are to die for.
