I found Amy via crackerjacks and all of her pictures of my kids are plastered on our walls. She has this ability to take natural and beautiful photos of children. My husband was misguided and bought a nice camera one Christmas to try to capture Amy's gift. Although we love the camera, we have not been able to get he same quality.
We have had around 3 to 4 sittings with Amy and just have been thrilled every time. -

Amy Perl has the ability as a photographer to really capture the magic and beauty of children and families in their day to day life. I have admired her work from afar for a few years, and this past November hired her to photograph our family for the holidays. Her photographs are natural and at the same time timeless - the photographs she took of my husband, myself and our two daughters feel like they really captured a specific time in our family's life yet i know i will never tire of them.
She is super professional and completely comfortable with the kids - she was able to keep them enthusiastic and relaxed the whole time she was shooting - the photos came out looking like they were taken by a family friend - not by someone our children had only just met that day.
I didn't know about Amy Perl when I got married, but I've seen her wedding work, and it's phenomenal. She is the kind of photographer who has her own vision, but is so talented and experienced that she will make sure your photographs are customized to who you are and what kind of photos you want. -

I first worked with Amy when she was the Art Director for GapKids and babyGap almost ten years ago. Her shoots from that time still shine through as visionary. She was a lot of fun. -Bias Alert- she is a dear friend.
As far as photography goes Amy does it seemingly - effortlessly.
She relates to her subject and the camera doesn't get in the way.
Amy gets "it" and knows that "it" is revealing personalities, lives, moments, places and things. She lives in the moments between the moments, seeing light and shadow in a world we all inhabit but few can see.
That said, she cannot prevent the occasional unfortunate client from winding them selves up too tight, putting on their Sunday best and grimacing their way to misery with too high expectations. Ugly is ugly. That said she doesn't shoot and tell. She is professional and an asset to the community. -

I just hired Amy to do several client photo shoots and am super happy! Amy is incredibly down to earth, the ultimate professional and the photos are just great. Photographing children is one of her God given talents. The way she is able to interact with kids, make them trust her and capture the moment is genius. Thanks Amy!

Amy is the real deal. She is an artist with a vision that is unique, creative, and not be found anywhere else. I hired her for the first time when my first son was four months old and have had her take our photographs three times since then in a short three years. And every time I am blown away. Not only is the final product resplendent, but the process itself is fun as well. Amy is so great with the children, making them laugh and have fun so that they not only endure the session but ENJOY it. She is worth her weight in gold.

I will never get tired of looking at Amy Perl's photos. She brings you back to the moment. She has an amazing eye and the ability to capture the personalities of the children she photographs.
Amy has taken pictures of my children for the past five years, done all of the photography for my website and any commercial photos for my retail store. She is funny, down to earth and honest. Oakland is lucky to have such a brilliant artist! -

Our wedding experience was fantastic! Thanks to our photographer Amy Perl. She is incredibly creative and has the amazing ability to be in the right place at the right time for some amazing moments we would have otherwise missd out on. Our photojournalistic wedding album is a work of art. Her follow up service 3 years later is still outstanding. Amy is a true Artist and Professional.
She has subsequently captured our Children in some goofy fabulous pictures as well. -

Amy Perl is sheer brilliance! She starting photographing my family when my son was five days old...and now he is about to turn two. She is truly gifted. Her warmth and her engaging personality bring out the most natural, sweetest moments of family life. We are so lucky that we found Amy as I know her photographs will be among our most precious keepsakes from my son's childhood. She is the best of the best!

Amy did an amazing job at our wedding. We got married in Olema, Ca almost a year ago. It was a perfect day, with perfect weather, and we got perfect photographs of the event thanks to Amy. Amy is personable and has a great eye for capturing special moments with her camera. I will strongly recommend her!.
