I am thrilled to recommend Amy Bixby as an incredibly talented jewelry designer and skilled metal smith.  Her beautiful studio space is an inviting place to plan a custom project or look at finished designs.  Unlike a standard jewelry store, you get to see the workspace interesting tools with which your jewelry will be hand crafted.  I especially recommend Amy for unique, one-of-a-kind rings and wedding bands.

I had the pleasure of taking a jewelry making class from Amy at Venue in Ballard.  She is not only an amazing artist, but a great teacher as well!

Amy is great at working with clients to create custom pieces.  She is currently working on a piece for my wedding and I found her an absolute joy to work with. I know several other people who have worked with her and all have had the same positive experience.  I could not recommend her work more highly.

I love the jewelry that Amy created for our wedding! We described to her what we like and she created beautiful work that is stunning and unique! She showed a great understanding of our needs and was very easy to work with. Both my husband and I will definitely go back to Amy for our special occasions in the future.

Amy is an incredible artist and a wonderful person.  My (now) husband found her work in a Ballard boutique when he purchased my non-traditional engagement ring (sapphire), designed and made by Amy.  When it came time for us to decide on wedding bands, we knew immediately we wanted to work with Amy.  We met with her on a couple occasions at her studio in Frellard.  Based on a somewhat undefined description that gave her a sense of what we wanted and her strong design aesthetic, Amy designed the wedding bands, each of which was complimentary with the other as well as with my engagement ring.

I would recommend Amy to anyone who wants unique, handcrafted jewelry from an amazing and personable artist.

Amy makes awesome hand-crafted contemporary jewelry, using precious metals and gems. She does both standard and custom pieces for special occasions like weddings. I've got one of her silver rings that I wear almost daily, and it has a cool beaten matte look to it and gets tons of comments. I'd highly recommend you stop by her studio in Frelard!

Meet the Business Owner: Amy B.

Amy Bixby grew up on a sheep station in New Zealand. Dry, rugged and rocky hills contrasted by weeping willows and a meandering river bed not only provided a study in contrast but an opportunity for exploration and creativity. Amy's aesthetic as an artist remains influenced by the farm's environment. She often uses contrast in her work; juxtaposing colors and textures, and employing a combination of mixed and patinated metals.  Her jewelry is often described as vibrant and tactile, serving as a form of self expression for those who wear it.

Amy was raised to appreciate all things handmade, she hand-forges every piece in her studio workshop using finishes that are beaten or matte to reveal the natural tone and appearance of the metal.
