Review from Diana B.
New York, NY
Relatively unknown walkup hostelry over a bar, with small rooms and largish prices. Excellently located on the UWS, but otherwise, not special. Corner of 76th and Amsterdam. Europeans and other money savers come here.
UPDATE: May 2008: a alrge luixury bldg is going up around (literally) this bldg. -

I was just looking for somewhere laid-back to kill some time, drink a cold beer and have a snack but man, was this the wrong place.
The bar was completely empty and I sit down at one of the dozens of empty tables made for four which are by the window.
Five minutes later a waitress with an attitude comes over and says: "yes?"
"oh, I just want to grab some food," I say.
"how many?"
"just one," I say.
"you can't sit here," she scowls as I look out at the dozens of empty windows. "Go by the window if you want." And points to a table in a dank corner.
Uhh... I'd definitely had done it if she had asked with some grace and hospitality but with her attitude I said "No thanks" and snuck out when she went to grab a menu.
Instead I got full (and drunk) at the chipotle down the street. -
Review from Christine M.
East Greenwich, RI
I've stayed at this place a number of times - mainly for the price. About $120 a night is a deal in the upper west side. The rooms are o.k. - not the cleanest. I've experienced a room with a private bath as well as shared bath. The bathrooms are not cleaned frequently enough. There seems to be a plethora of individuals living in the hotel and from their rooms wafts the smell of cigarette smoke and the sounds of blaring tv's. It's not terrible if you need a short stay for a cheap price.

Review from Eileen K.
New York, NY
This place should remain unknown. Their receptionist, Elena, is ridiculously rude telling a friend of mine that they would ONLY rent to foreigners. When my friend suggested this was discrimination she suggested he get off the phone or she would "call the cops." I would avoid this flea trap at all costs. Based on other review, I guess you have to have an attitude to work there. This place gets a big fat ZERO -- if I could rate less than zero, I would.
