Frankly this place is very dead during HH. Our meet up group brings a lot of activity to this place. I was very upset that the female bartender proceeded to take away our seats at the bar at 7:00 pm. It was upsetting that she did that, because if wasn't for our group this place would be dead.
The owner over heard me and stopped her and also offered me a free meal.
Out of curiosity I accepted the meal. I typically don't eat fried food. Iy was a nice gesture of the owner.
Our event is over with only a few staggler such as myself; so there was no need to remove the bar stools.
This place is a waste of space. I'm not sure who's marketing the venue, but they need help. as a marketing analyst I should offer my service. Lol!
Thank goodness for meetup.com social mixer hosted by Paul this place would be empty.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 22650839Oct 11, 2014
An odd hole in the wall that looks like it could be a fun place if it wasn't for the tweets or people pretending to see in that carefree era if life. I liked the pool and the darts but this dull same beat techno music bores my brain quickly.
In general a clean place but the bartender messed up 1 out of 3 drinks. Not great odds dude.
The best part was the oddly dressed guy that apparently worked there to check ids before entry. I couldn't tell if he worked there or was just starting to sit in the stool when I was walking to the door. He wasn't wearing anything distinguishable let along clean looking. Good job representing.
Needless to say not a place I would volunteer to visit unless I was in the area and wanted to play some poolHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tan Lo S.Seattle, WA1325151538Mar 18, 2013
This used to be the old Copper Cart (the best club in Belltown), then Empire Lounge (then it got shady)... and now it's this! Low and behold, Ampersand Lounge. It's DEAD on Fridays... so don't come here! I mean it. I'm pretty sure I was the youngest one here on Friday, and I felt super young as I watched everyone, sitting on the bar stool and the music wasn't great, the people were older, and I felt so out of place.
I come again on Saturday as my friend was in town from LA.....and it gets ratchet! Lol. Girls with dresses so short you can see their unmentionables. Yuck. Not sure if it was poppin' or not because the line not only took forever, but when we finally got inside their ATM ran out of money... the cover was $15 for men and $10 for women. I don't think that's worth it at all. I can walk over to other venues and get in free, or for cheaper, and still have a great time.
Their drinks are average priced and about the same size if not smaller. I miss Empire and Copper Cart days. CC days had the best drinks and best nights/music ever. Now, it just went downhill. All the cooh people that used to work there don't anymore, and now the security guards are scandalous. It is reckless. I definitely will not be returning. Sad.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Kozby E.Puget Sound, WA45229228Jan 14, 2013First to Review
Was there on a Friday night, assuming on Saturdays get more people and two dance floors. The pool tables are cool and the bartenders are friendly. It seems the upper sections are appropriate for b.day parties and private events. The drink prices seem OK. Overall, this should be one of your stop in Bell town.

I wanted it to be good. I really did. But we ordered the greek fries which were bleh and the nachos were really salty. There was only one other person when we were there who was a regular but as soon as he left, my friend said that the owner started to talk crap about him to the bartender. Something about him only having one chest hair so he wasn't really a man and how the customer's bill wasn't that high, even though the owner had bought him a patron shot. I just thought that that was very unprofessional.
The one plus was that because the bartender was new, I was able to score a free drink because she was practicing. Other than that, it was bleh. Don't think that I'll be going back.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1171061232Feb 25, 2014
My friends and I stopped by here one night. It was a Thursday night around 8p. There was absolutely NO ONE in the bar at this time (not to mention no staff anywhere to be seen). It was weird. Every other bar we'd been to (and we hit a few) was packed to the gills. Not the case here. There wasn't even a bartender at the bar. I went to use the bathroom and when I came out the manager or owner had come out to talk to my friend about happy hour. We decided to leave and at that point the bartender appeared. She said this place was going to be super busy and packed in a little bit. Maybe we'll come back then?

Great happy hour!! That's over about two hours after other bars' HH end.
And just a $1 a game pool in the back.
BEST TACO TUESDAY IN SEATTLE. Will be back.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kalani F.Denver, CO1494045Feb 24, 2014
I have only been here for meetup events, namely two meetup events for new-in town people. I suppose it is a good place for those kind of events because it is just empty and kind of looks like a bad bar from 1985- Tom Cruise from Cocktail could fit in ok. The drinks are a little watered down, cheap for Seattle; the bartenders a little sleazy. The floor is somewhat clean, a bonus! But it does have a lot of milling-around room, just not trendy, awesome decor. It just looks worn-out and sad inside.
Parking is also just awful around the place. But the meetup events are organized well and like clockwork, so it must have some value in using it. I would never go here to hang out on regular bar nights. It's just too "meh".Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dave L.Austin, TX2030106Feb 18, 2014
This used to be the Copper Cart which sucked. Then it was Empire Lounge and it sucked. Now it's Ampersand Lounge... a friend convinced me to go despite my warnings, and guess what? It still sucks.
Thug bouncers. Mean coat check. Weird aggressive bartenders.
The only reason why I didn't give it one star is because it has improved *slightly* since Copper Cart, and the food isn't awful.
There are lots and lots of bars in this area. Pick any other spot but this one.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ashley R.Elk Grove, CA94190100Mar 15, 2014
It's a bar that turns into a club.
Cheap drinks and pool!
They take the basketballs away for the basketball arcade game once "it turns into a club"-stated by an employee.
It was fun while we were there and kept us busy for an hour or so! Great locationHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
