This place is serving up a wicked slice of pizza. Not much seating, but for pizza this good- you make do. Feels like a little bit of New York City out here in Salt Lake.

Review from Laurie R.
Sandwiched between Cannella's and Cake is Amore Pizza + Gelato. This block really needed a place where you could grab a quick slice of pizza. At the moment I'm still not sure how I feel about this place; It'll require further investigation.
The first time I went to Amore I was planning on ordering a slice of pizza and a gelato. Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out if anyone was tending the counter or if they all wanted to visit with their friends. I went to Thai Lotus for lunch and then walked back to Amore afterwards to try the gelato. This time the place had cleared and people were willing to take an order. I opted for the lemon biscotti gelato. It was good; the creamy texture was delightful and the flavor was good-- except I didn't really taste any lemon. It came across more like a good vanilla.
Last week I finally was able to try a slice of pizza. It was a slice of lasagna pizza and included lasagna noodles. The crust was thin-- think New York style. It had a pretty good flavor and bite to it. The sauce was tasty although I probably wouldn't mind a bit more zest to it. My complaint with the pizza slices are they are a bit small for the price. The pizzas that are cut by the slice are kept in a plastic case and reheated when purchased. I get the impression they stick it back in the pizza oven so it stays crispy as opposed to nuking it in a microwave so that's a good thing. The flavors for the full pies seem a bit limited to me and not too standard. That could be a good thing for some and not for others.
I tried the coconut almond gelato. This was definitely a lot better than the lemon biscotti. It was a hard choice since the vibrant color of the mixed berry and the tempting flavor of hazelnut both beckoned. I'm really excited to try the other gelato flavors because most of them look amazing.
This is definitely a great place for gelato, but I think the verdict is still out on whether the pizza is worth getting.
