Review from Nivek M.
Pacifica, CA
We walked over here from our motel looking for a beer and were not disappointed. Amore Mio, in addition to being an Italian restaurant, has a large bar with a separate entrance.
The AM bar was likely the most happening place around in this little mountain town last night, packed full of people checking out the (marginal) band (sounded like woozy fifties karaoke) and much cooler people ignoring the loud music and hanging at the bar or (even cooler) out on the narrow balcony perched above the nightime empty Hwy 41.
Because this town is a major jumping-off point for Yosemite it is usually packed with tourists from all over the world and last night was no exception. There was a group of trim, tan and beautiful Italians at the end of the bar sipping their Bud Lights (when in Rome drink nasty beer...) and some 20-somethings speaking Castillian Spanish out on the deck.
We scored a couple of Firestone Double Barrel Ales (interesting to find this beer so far from its native Central Coast home in Paso) and hit the deck. The night was warm, the beer was cold, and we were happy. All was well.
