Review from Rhonda G.
A good fit for this area, but a horrible parking corner for no good reason. Same good NY coffeecake, the mini red velvet cupcakes looked good. I had a butternut squash soup which was fantastic, a perfect flavor and consistency. I didn't get a hot drink, but I always went for the hot chocolate. It was one of the best. I was an original regular at the first Amore. This place doesn't have the coziness, and the lighting mostly comes from the sun if you sit in the right place. But if you've never had the pleasure before it's demise, this location is a necessity, and has the edges of the original concept.

First off, this is a cute and comfy coffee shop that just happens to be super close to me which is all very awesome! They have cozy seating as well as tables for working. It is generally pretty quiet. Plus, they have 2 shelves of books labeled "book exchange," awesome!
My star was knocked down because the food I have ordered so far has been not so great. The breakfast sandwich my girlfriend had was reminiscent of a bagged gas station variety that gets thrown in the microwave. My muffin was ok I guess and the yogurt parfait was fine as well. Their lunch sandwich selection looks more promising so Ill give that a try next and let you know (fingers crossed!). -

I missed the old Grand Ave store so I decided to pop into this store. I didn't think this spot was as cozy and nice as Grand. The furniture is all ramshackle. It was chilly in there, and the lighting was absurdly dim. Just uncomfortable. Coffee was all right.

This is a really friendly place to grab a cup of joe or my favorite...an italian soda. I am a big fan of all the different flavors they have. They have some good food there as well. You are going to pay a shade more than if you go to a big name place, but it is a really nice place for the West Siders in West St. Paul. They have games, a book exchange, and local artists. Check it out!

There's a lot to like about Amore Coffee. Who wouldn't appreciate in-house rosted beans, those funky tin ceilings that seem so common in the Twin Cities, and a Donkey Kong cocktail cabinet? I know Billy Mitchell would nod his feathered mullet in approval. These were my initial impressions of Amore and it looked busy enough for a weekday midday crowd, so I was optimistic about this place. That optimism was short-lived and I would ultimately leave disappointed.
I had come here looking for a fine cup of coffee and perhaps a light snack. The existing review for this location was good enough and Amore had received good press elsewhere. Even though this was a new location, I thought I had little to fear. I ordered a latte and a light plate of bread and cheese. During my wait, I peeked around the shop and noticed a gigantic box of vacuum-packed biscotti being unpacked on one of the dining tables. It was clear that homemade goodies or ones provided by a local bakery were out of the equation. I wondered if I was going to regret my food order.
After a brief wait, I received my latte. Despite its cheerful yellow mug, the drink was a little sad-looking as the steamed milk sat limply on top of the espresso. This was by no means an expert pour, but it wasn't overly milky (a common mistake) and the coffee tasted good enough. I enjoyed a few sips until my food was ready.
My plate of bread and cheese was ready a few minutes after my coffee and I should have been thankful for the wait. I was a little dismayed to find a drab plate of stale supermarket bread, some processed-looking cheddar slices and a wedge of inexpensive brie. Seeing that the cheddar wasn't going to be worth the effort, I tried some of the brie. It was bland, but I was hungry, so I tried some more. I soon noticed a prominent bitter taste in my mouth. I fetched some water to wash it out, but the bitterness persisted. The cheese had gone rancid. I dumped the rest of my food in the trash. While there's some promise here, this particular coffee shop needs to make some major improvement. -

Friendly people behind the counter, fantastic espresso drinks and the couple sandwiches I've had there were delicious. Lots of comfortable seating and neat art on the walls. But what really wins me over at this place is the brie and apples plate for just under $3. It's a generous amount of brie and the apple is sliced fresh.

I love Amore! We live in the neighborhood and walk up at least once every weekend. Now that the weather is nice we've made it a family tradition.
We can even bring our puppy Mr. Belvidere. He loves going too as they have puppy treats for the fury guests.
The food and of course coffee is fantastic. -

Menu seems adequate, but there seems to be a lot of employee turnover. Hmmm...

This second location just opened. It's so nice to have a coffee house back on Smith Ave.
Amore Coffee opened last Friday and I have been trying to get in all week, but each time I have driven by there has been a line, and I just didn't have time to stop.
Today was the day!
I loved my small dark roast coffee and chocolate/peanut cookie cup thingy. Delish.
They do have soup and sandwiches, but I have not tried them yet.
I'll certainly be back.
