Got lucky again! I needed a new vet and hadn't heard of anyplace special. All reviews I read have just as many positive as negative things about every vet office I looked at. Ultimately I liked this place because the board animals here as well. I toured the facility and it was clean and free from 'animal' odor. I asked one of the employees which vet they saw and they said Dr Rick. I brought my 2 dogs in separately and was thrilled at the service and care they took of my babies. The vet techs were kind and knowledgeable.Dr Rick came in and gushed all sorts of lovey stuff to my dog. He acts just as certifiable as I do around them! :) He was patient, took time with each pet to calm them, let them sniff/lick every instrument he used, etc..... He even followed up with and email to make sure they were still okay and if some of his recommendations were helping! Nobody does that anymore!

I took My dog to Amor. I told them he would not open his mouth, and his eye was infected. Not sure why. They examined my dog, and told me it was no big deal. He had probably got something in his eye. Which caused it to get infected. They gave me some eye drops and antibiotics. It seemed to help. After the second day, it got worse. I called them up, I described what was going on, and now his face was swelling. They said "Its no big deal sometimes it takes days for the meds to kick in." The next day it had gotten to the point my dog would not move on his own. I took him to a different vet, who examined him. They Found a chunk of wood jammed in the roof of his mouth! That was causing the infection. I could not believe that Amor did not do a thorough exam, and seemed to not be concerned. When I called them with concern. I will never go back there again!

Been taking the dog here for years without issues until recently. Took him in for grooming. Normally I take him to petsmart but Amor was cheaper and I take him to Amor for boarding and vet care. He came back freaked out far more then normal. It looked like they barely touched him. When I get him from the other groomer you can tell he has been groomed. After a grooming at amor I couldn't tell a difference besides his genital region was trimmed. He had razor burn/rash/marks all over the area he trimmed. The poor little dog was licking him self and just upset for days as the wounds healed. I would never take him back for grooming.

Now the grooming is bad but that isn't what turned me off to Amor. When I picked him up from grooming they told me he needed his teeth cleaned. The guy told me they recommend a cleaning every 6 months and that his teeth were covered in plaque and needed a cleaning. I asked them to show me the dirty teeth and they opened his mouth and pointed out some yellow spots. When I kindly pointed out he was in there 2 weeks ago for a teeth cleaning the guy totally changed his tone. All the sudden his teeth were great and the spots were just stains, not plaque. I suggest they check their records before blindly recommending something like this. I felt like they were trying to rip me off and probably just tell everyone the dogs need teeth cleaning. This dishonest practice along with the worst grooming job the dog has ever had is the reason I would not return to Amor.
