The drinks are to die for! Absolutely creative boutique drinks with titles like Maple Leaf Rag. Fabulous bar tending with creative spirit imbued in every sip.
Meals are amazing, including especially the Braised Lamb Shoulder, which I will rank at among the best I've ever enjoyed. Ingredients are top-notch organics.
Decor is modern elegant, and service is spectacular West Coast formal. I'd give it a 4.5 if I could, or a 5 as I want if I just didn't have Thomas Keller's fabulous tastes seared into my consciousness. -

I am giving this place 3 stars overall.
The food was worth 5 stars. I had the cobb salad and it was great. Really fresh, and really juiced up for a standard salad. The bacon tasted amazing too.
The reason for the 3 stars is because the male host was kind of L.A. rude. He didn't want to allow myself, or other guests to change tables, and the reason for the changed tables is because the restaurant is small, so the one wall of tables is like cafeteria style and there's no privacy. They need to change the table arrangements and allow for more private dining, and the hosts need to be more friendly and less like the host from Ferris Bueller's Day Off, snooty and snotty! -

I love Ammo for many reasons.
Firstly, the food is always spot on. The ambiance is relaxing and very chic. Everyone that works there is always very pleasant and accomadating. My favorite item on the menu is the apple crisp with homemade ice cream!
If you are in the area, certainly stop by for lunch or dinner! -

Sounds weird, but they have an unusually good turkey burger, and perfect fries. Also, their brown rice with chicken or tofu is also very tasty. Again, I know neither of these dishes sound Yelp-worthy, but you ought to try!

I went here for brunch on a Saturday morning. I think this place has fabulous food and is probably more know for dinner then brunch......It wasn't busy when we were there which was nice as you can have a relaxing brunch. The food was great.
* current scone with clouded cream and jam: Light and absolutely delicious.
* egg sandwich: This special olive bread gave this sandwich a great taste. It has a perfect balance of bread and things on the sandwich. I would order this next time (my friend had it this time)!
* Fritatta: this is very delicious. It came with a frisee salad with pancetta.... If you try to stay away from carbs this is perfect.
The service was nice too! -

Cute little joint off Highland/Lexington. Too bad it is just mediocre in a town filled with fantastic restaurants.
Brunch:
-Currant Muffin-the best thing I ate at AMMO.
-Poached eggs on a salad of golden beets and roasted potatoes-- not bad. The lady next to me raved about it so I ordered it but I thought it was so-so.
-I also tried the bacon and chicken sausage and thought it was okay as well.
Service was super slow...it wasn't busy enough to have such slow service.
Nothing really stood out for me. The muffin ranked the highest which isn't necessarily a good thing. -

I got a groupon here so brought a friend for brunch. Nice atmosphere, nice staff, yummy menu. We both got the poached eggs over beets, fennel, etc and roasted potatoes. I would say pretty good. However, not a "must have again" dish though. They serve intelligentsia coffee which is a plus. The current scone was yummy.
We couldn't even touch the muffin we ordered because we were full so I took it to go. Later in the day, I started eating it....SO BAD. It had a weird meaty taste and then certain really salty pockets and barely any blueberries. Such a disappointment for a $4.00 muffin. Well it would be a disappointment if it was a $1.00 muffin. -

3 1/2 Stars. I went for a party dinner with my friends last night. This place offers great food, nice service, and an intimate atmosphere, so intimate they couldn't offer comfortable seating for a party over 15 people which they were aware of when our reservations were made.
I had pizza with tomato, fresh mozzarella & basil. When it arrived, the presentation wasn't what I expected. I wanted to see chunks of mozzarella cheese, but the taste made up for it. The crust was thin & crunchy, so I didn't feel heavy afterwards. My husband ordered sauteed kale and steamed clams with white wine, cannellini beans, fennel, and pickled chili which were both delicious.
BTW: The interesting looking chips in the bread basket were delicious. A thin crunchy snack that left room for my entree. I definitely recommend this place for dieters and light eaters. Oh and their bar isn't fully stocked which lost a whole star along with their seating accommodation. -

Had dinner here last night with the bf. We're not super foodies, but we're both very good home cooks, and our reaction was: we could do better.
Which, when you're paying $26 for a dry, bland half-chicken on a bed of lettuce(?), and $20 for an unseasoned squash stew, is not the response you hope to have.
The room is lovely--warn, woody, elegant but relaxed. Sound levels are low and good. The service was fine, and the sommelier recommended a good bottle which was unquestionably the highlight of the meal.
The food, however, is nowhere near up to the prices charged. I didn't even want to take my leftover chicken for lunch the next day, it was so tasteless. And a squash stew can be a wonderful thing if you get some heat or umami going, but this glop just laid there, unappealing.
I'd take BLD over this joint any day of the week, for the price and 'hood. -

I had been meaning to dine at Ammo for some time and finely made it in last Friday for lunch. The staff was great...wonderful service, very friendly. And the food was FANTASTIC! Everyone at our table loved their plate. I ordered the mint tea and it came in a press with fresh mint leaves and a brown rice/veggie dish that was healthy and delicious. Can't wait to try dinner!

I was a little hesitant to try this place after the most recent bad reviews, but trying to find a reservation on Valentines Day in LA is near impossible for any highly rated restaurant. I know what you're thinking - why did he wait until the last minute? A last minute trip to LA combined with wanting to see a friend from High School that I had not seen in 18 years put me in this difficult situation. And here's all about AMMO...
A little unimpressed with the number of people inside when we arrived (7pm reservation), but I guess that's considered early in LA. The ambiance was very nice and the decor was good, however at points of the night I felt like the music got a little loud. I felt like they turned up the volume when the place began to fill up.
As far as the food goes, it was average at best - there were a few great items and a few items I could have done without. I made the reservation online and it never mentioned anywhere or on the website that it was a prefix, so my hands were tied. It was communicated so little to people who made reservations, two "regulars" that sat down next to us complained and then walked out because they didn't want the prefix. The waitress said that they were supposed to call all reservations and ensure they knew, but they obviously did not... poor management. A little pricey ($75 pp) compared to other places I saw online ($55 pp but they were all booked), the bang for the buck just wasted there.
We started with the oysters (2 ea) and they were high-quality, but had a high scallion taste to them, so juts average there and hen the carrot soup - it was watery and lacked flavor - one star. There were no other options on the first two courses, so we were forced to get them. On to the third course, I got the calamari salad and my companion got the beef carpaccio. The salad was a two star salad at best, the dressing was ok and the calamari was what I would buy at a food store salad bar. The beef carpaccio was a three star experience as it basically tasted like roast beef and was a bit chewy.
When the main course came, I got the Sea Bass (bad call) and she got the rib eye. The rib eye was nicely flavored and tasty, but the Sea Bass was chewy and lacked flavor - the only saving grace of the dish was the vegetables underneath that were very favorable and tasty.
One dessert item was the best part of the meal, while the other was again, blah. The apple crisp, which was NOT on the menu but the waiter told us about it, was amazing. Warm with a fabulous topping, we couldn't get enough. The other dessert was a brownie type thing which was very bland. My friend said that it tasting like a melted rice crispy bar and it did have that flavor, but that's about it. So for an expensive meal, I wouldn't expect a Nestle candy bar.
In summary, the only reason it is not a one-star rating is because of the apple crisp and ambiance. Thank god for great company otherwise this experience would have been a completely horrible experience. I will be hanging out with my old friend again, but we will NOT be going to Ammo. -

Ammo is the kind of place that never disappoints. The French toast with caramelized apples, maple syrup, and crème fraîche is amazing. The brown rice is amazing. The Margarita pizza is excellent. Sitting outside on the weekend is my favorite. There is little traffic and they are dog friendly.

I have no idea whether Ammo is a celebrity hotspot or not. My guess is not because the restaurant wasn't exactly buzzing when we arrived for dinner on a Saturday night. But based upon the reception we received when we walked in, you would think that it's one of those we're-booked-solid-so-don't-even-think-about-it kinds of places. That is the only reasonable explanation I have for being assaulted the way I was when we entered, a tad past our reservation time.
"Don't look at my screen! Don't look at my screen!" the hostess screamed when I pointed to my name on her computer. She then told us to wait while she "prepared" our table, even though the restaurant was half empty. When we were finally led to our table, fifteen minutes later, we discovered that it was only for two, not three as had been indicated on the reservation. Maybe she did need help with that computer after all.
In the end, our meal turned out fine, even though we were initially soured by her inhospitable rebuke. The Heirloom Tomatoes with Burrata was simple with clean flavors. The Orecchiette with Cauliflower, Rapini, and Olives was well prepared but unexciting. The best dish of the night was the Pappardelle with a Bolognese Sauce. The pasta was tender and seemed very fresh.
Like the food, Ammo's decor is also clean and modern, if a bit corporate -- lots of granite and blond wood, like the main lobby of a 3 star hotel. With the exception of the hostess, the staff was friendly and polite. Not a bad restaurant for the neighborhood, a good locals place, but not what I would call a destination dining spot.
Minus one star because of the hostess. Corkage is $15. -

Since its humble opening, Ammo has been a frequent choice of my restaurants. We revisit the place after many years and find it still serving quality organic natural food. However we feel the food is overpriced for its small portion. My $12 scrambled eggs are tasty topping 4 paper-thinly sliced zucchini. The $4 ginger scone is well baked but its 75% smaller than the one in Alcove Cafe. The "grass-fed" beef burger with crunchy skinny fries is loftily sized but bears a hefty price tag. We do like the strong Intelligista french press coffee.
For brunch, the menu is limited but to the least we do not need a reservation to get in and be seated promptly on a Sunday morning. -

I'm torn on this review. I have visited this restaurant several times for brunch and have generally loved every experience. Recently I bought a Daily Candy deal and decided to use it today and I felt like my pedestal of them was completely knocked over. Typically the service is decent but it was truly awful today. Actually the last 2 times. Maybe because of their Daily Candy deal and more traffic but I'd think that one would increase the service people to accommodate for this. Typically the food is amazing. The flavors of everything combine so nicely and you can taste the freshness of the produce used. Today the frittata was wayyyyyy oversalted and the poached egg dish was completely bland and undersalted. Usually the fresh muffin is just out of the oven and soooo delicious but today it wasn't fresh out of the oven and the flavor was different. We got their fruit and granola for the first time today and I felt the granola was stale or undercooked?!
I'm really disappointed and this is usually where my husband and I love to go as our Sunday morning ritual but now we have no desire to go back. I still commend their commitment to local organic produce though! -

My father and I are a hell of a dynamic dining duo. We hit up snazzy Los Angeles restaurants like a Travel Channel broadcast, and I sometimes like to think of myself as the obscure West coast version of Anthony Bourdain (Tip: a restaurant experience can be easily enhanced when imagining yourself on camera). On the day of fatherhood appreciation, we arrived at Ammo to try brunch (a meal seemingly only legitimized during a parent appreciation day). While Ammo struck a few good notes with its food, the restaurant experience did not quite hit the bullseye that nearby facilities had already pierced.
If you already have established perceptions of a trendy modern Hollywood restaurant, you may be a tiny bit disappointed in Ammo as the atmosphere is about as glamorous as Jennifer Lopez without makeup. She is an attractive au-natural, but once you've seen her all glammed up, there's no turning back.
The menu impressed me with a quaint simplicity that is consistent with its ambience. However, the menu uses what I would like to steal from an episode of Spongebob and fabricate as my own slang: "sentence enhancers." The menu attempts to seduce you with exotic-sounding dishes such as "yeasted pancakes" atop "whisky barrel maple syrup." However, the likelihood that to you this dish will taste just like pancakes and syrup is larger than you would like to fantasize. So I decided to order a dish I could easily understand: olive oil fried eggs with olive bread, chick peas, harisa, and yogurt. A classy spin on Mediterranean style dishes, this plate was full of originality and flavor.
And the beignets. Just order them. Balls of fried doughnut goodness sprinkled with powdered sugar and accompanied with a juicy jam. Yet despite this wonderfully sweet dish, it must be recognized that Ammo supports local farmers and uses fresh ingredients in their dishes. Props for local crops!
In order to try to explain why I gave this establishment three stars, I am going to describe a brief acronym based on a word that kept coming up in my head as I was writing this review: MEH. The day when I truly write "Meh" in my review is the day I have given up on life. But I found it highly appropriate to sum up my experience at Ammo: Mediocre food but...

I've only eaten at Ammo twice. I've only eaten dinner at Ammo. I've only thoroughly enjoyed everything about Ammo...twice.
Bread: Their version of bread sticks are these crunchy spicy tortilla things that are delicious. Not only are they delicious, they're cool. "Cool" as in, that guy's style is cool or James Dean is cool.
Music: Good. Not just good for a restaurant, I think they've actually turned me on to some new bands. (Thank you Shazaam!(iPhone app))
Cocktails: Delicious.
Dinner: Both times incredible. Anchovy butter? Who knew.
I'd like to write more about Ammo but I'm sure you're waiting to watch the new How I Met Your Mother so I'll stop here.
Ammo is a "cool" name too. :P -

The scene at Ammo is very classy and the service is good. But all that doesn't matter because the food is bland as the day is long. All the food is extremely organic if that matters to you. I ordered the Pizza with prosciutto di Parma, arugula & fontina. Basically flat bread, fancy lettuce, even fancier ham...and nothing more. It was the most boring pizza anyone has ever eaten. All you taste is salty meet and bread as random leaves fall off you slice. My friend Mike got the Turkey Burger and his wife got the squash stew. The burger was painfully average for a $18 price tag. The fries are good but not great. I didn't try the stew because it reminded me of something a hippie chick would use to moisturizer her skin. Regardless, the wife was not a fan. We also ordered Charred Rapini which is baby broccoli. That shit tasted way 2 raw and had as much flavor as it did when it was in the ground. The specialty cocktails are good and the only reason anyone should go although that's still not a good enough reason. The maple cocktail is tasty and something worth trying. The Pomegranate Martini is also good although my date didn't like it. If your not a fan of tart flavors, don't get it. I ordered the most expensive speciality cocktail they had because I wanted to know what a $18 drink taste like. Well, it taste good, just not $18 good. For $18 I better have an orgasm after the 3rd sip. Overall, this place is not worth checking out unless you want o pay a hole lot for zero flavor. Oh, and it's organic...

Got a soft spot for this place after having been many many times for dinner. Either it's seriously (still) undercover or its heyday has passed and everyone moved on to something better? Probably the former.
As opposed to places which claim to use fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients, this place ACTUALLY does so the menu truly reflects that.
The roast chicken, sea bass (or any other white fish being offered that day), burrata, and strozzapreti are really WELL prepared standouts.
Things to note about the crowd --chances are you'll be sitting next to 4 types of diners:
1. Old married couples that have been dining here since the day it opened
2. PDA-to-the-max couples that're (at least) respecting 'hands above the table' etiquette
3. Tourists who avoided the tourist trap restaurants on Sunset and Hollywood blvd
4. Chefs from other acclaimed restaurants in LA -

dineLA season is my favorite time of year. You get to look at the list. Check off who's naughty, who's nice. And hopefully unwrap a yummy package for a discounted price. It's better than Christmas.
So I book dinner at Ammo. I've never been, heard great things, read great things, the dineLA menu seems good. I walk in the front door to realize... I've been there before. I've forgotten? Can't believe I've forgotten. But remember why I've forgotten after the meal. So totally forgettable.
Our choice of table is either the one by the front door or the one by the kitchen, (obviously, the one by the restroom must have already been taken) so we sit outside. Alone. And we stayed alone for the rest of the night because probably every other diner knew that the only way to get the attention of the what-seemed-to-be-only very lovely very overworked server was to be within eyesight.
Finally-- our very fresh beautiful quality lettuce-- salad arrives. Eight leaves of lettuce, five shaved slices of radish and a sprinkle of parmesan. My basic tenet of dining is if you can count the ingredients, there isn't enough food.
The entree is tasty. What there is of it.
"Wild Bass Braised in our Wood Oven with Baby Artichokes, Cherry Tomatoes, Cannellini Beans, Castelvetrano Olives, White Wine & Fresh Herbs"
Baby Articokesssssss. Olivessssss. Plural. More than one. Not the case here. And the size of the fish. Well, I know it said Bass, but it seemed more Sardine. Single. No plural.
I know times are tough, but I don't want to see it on my plate.
So now I'm depending on the Chocolate dessert to fill me up, but they're out of it. Probably everyone else needed it for the same reason.
Listen, if you're going to participate in dineLA, embrace it. Showcase your best. Make people want to come back. Or what's the point.
The should have been unnecessary hot dog at Pinks on the drive home was very good.
Ammo, you get a lump of coal. -

Nice ambience for sure. Came here for lunch with co-workers but I could see how romantic this place would be for a dinner date. Just be prepared to spend some dough.
Lunch came to about $20 per person so I could only imagine how much more it would be for dinner. My co-workers dishes cost more than mine because they went with burgers and meat entrées. I had the Vegetable Sandwich with hummus, avocado, cucumber, and sunflower sprouts. Sunflower sprouts make me all kinds of happy! Biting into the sandwich, it was apparent that they used fresh lemon juice in their hummus. Very tasty! And all the veggies were fresh. It came with a simple side salad. Simple yet the super basic dressing they put on there was a tasty addition.
$13 may be a little much for a Vegetable Sandwich and side salad but at least the quality is good. $6 valet. -

We went there for their famous Tuna Tartare, but it was off the menu. So we were quite disappointed.
We ordered the melon and Prosciutto for appetizer, it was ok. We had then the steak and the Fettuccine. The meat was really tender but the vegetables were not fitting with each others. For the Fettuccine, it was good and you could tell the pasta were fresh, however the portion was really small.
Overall, it was really expensive for a dinner that was just ok. The service was just ok as well. -

This place has been around since the 1990s, so they must be doing something right. Maybe it was an off night, this is BASED ON ONE VISIT, but I didn't think Ammo was a good restaurant.
Our waiter informed us that Ammo is "about" "farmer's market," "locally sourced" ingredients, blah blah. Gotta keep up with the times, I guess.
The drink menu looked good, but the drinks themselves were just so-so. My wife ordered a Moscow Mule, which came in a highball glass instead of the classic copper mug. She may have been served a Mojito by mistake. Either way, we've had better (Grace, Little Doms) and we've had worse (Thirsty Crow).
We ordered 4 items from the food menu; soup, clams, halibut and chicken. No clear winner, maybe the chicken by a nose, but nothing to draw me back. The soup and halibut were too hot, temperature-wise, and the fish left me feeling super-oniony.
For the money, I prefer Hungry Cat. For the "locally sourced" trend, go to Forage. Obviously, though, Ammo is smart (opened in 1997?) and will probably outlast them both. -

Ammo's Sunday brunch menu, while pricey compared to the portions, is quite tasty. While there are a multitude of delicious WeHo brunch joints out there (Blu Jam, Taste, etc.), Ammo delivers a subdued, moody, intimate and wholly San Fransican atmosphere. On a side note, it's really easy to pass this place up. The signage is on the sun shade and I guess I'm just that oblivious. You might be too, so heads up :)
Their egg dishes are always happen to come out perfectly--poached, fried, or scrambled. Eggs are easy to mess up, so I tip my hat to any establishment that can masterfully tame that yellow cored demon. And the tea comes in this lovely french press where you can watch the tiny buds and leaves settle delicately.
3 and a half stars is actually quite a perfect overall rating. While the food is solid, there is little imagination that will keep me coming back unfortunately. -

Beautifully designed space, minimal and warm. Creative and chic cocktail menu started things off perfectly (the French 75 packs a punch, you have been warned). Bartender was quite friendly and attentive.
The comfy banquette was generously spaced from our neighbors and the server was a pro.
The beet salad was superb and almost a meal in itself. This was followed by the halibut with a flavorful sauce and lots of fresh peas.
Sticky toffee pudding and excellent French press coffee rounded out my lovely evening with a dear friend.
Patrons were a stylish mix of celebs and Angelenos. -

So we did an office lunch here last week with about 12 people and for the most part the food was fine, nothing horrible, nothing that great..We started with some burrata bruschetta that was pretty good..my co-worker and I ordered the homemade lemonade that tasted like watered down lemon Kool Aid..OK, so the lemonade sucked. I ordered the $20 Cobb which I was still hungry after eating and it tasted alright..a couple of co-workers ordered the fish (seabass) for $27...one said it was a little dry while the other loved hers..Other people ordered the burgers which they seemed to like just fine..Best part of the meal were the desserts..and the service...Overall, price to quality ratio not so great..if you're hungry, probably better off grabbing some Pink's hot dogs not far away and your wallet won't be mad at you....

I wish the food was as good as the service, which I do not often say. For the prices, you would expect much more quality and finesse in execution. All I can say, I'm glad I did not pick it and it was not my turn to pay!

Never disappoints! Their menu is always Updated and very interesting. Great for people with all sorts of diets. You will definitely find something to please the palete. The staff is very friendly and professional.

I had the Grilled Ham and Grueye, very tasty, I don't know what kind of ham they used but it's a goodie. And in lieu of fries mine came with a little mixed green salad with a garlic, lemon, vinagarette; also tasty :D
My cohorts ordered the burger medium (he gave it an ok response) and then the other two ordered Alexander entrees; one with chicken and the other with tofu, both seemed very content on their meals.
That's why overall I give this take out 4 stars.....it does make me want to actually go to the restaurant instead of ordering out from work. -

This restaurant is aptly named because the atmosphere made me want to shoot myself. The combination of the minimalist decor, empty tables and the staff that skulked around doing the Thorazine shuffle makes this place the bar/restaurant equivalent of Shelter Island. Someone please send that Indian guy from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest to free the rather fine fare that somehow made it on to the plate.

I had brunch here on Sunday and was pleasantly surprised. The overall atmosphere and service was very impressive. The decor is modern and minimal but gives off a surprisingly warm vibe.
The food was pretty yummy, I would have to say the breakfast is much better than the lunch. Loved the fact that they had french press coffee!
Definitely a place to try! -

I had doubts about this place considering its 3.5 rating, but I was pleasantly surprised by the food, the cosmopolitan atmosphere, and the attentive service.
The menu is limited, yet it includes a little something for everyone making it a practical option for a business lunch.
My farro and roasted squash salad was fresh and filling and my carnivore friend quite enjoyed her burger (grass fed of course). -

AMMO and I share the same initials. That makes it a favorite to start but also ups the stakes.
We've been twice in the past week, rediscovering AMMO after at least 10 years off. The wine list is unpretentious, deep and well chosen, and will not waste your time or assault your palate. The menu is the kind where you finally make yourself choose something, although you want to eat close to everything.
First visit back was a one-course dinner for two, but the second was a formal family meal for seven on Saturday night. We were treated to the private room on the side, which does border the kitchen, but we never heard any noise.
We brought our own two bottles of wine to enjoy, and were happy to share them with Benny, who knows wine and music well. He liked one, not the other. He's honest.
Two of our seven members were very late, but the kitchen and waiter paced us well.
We started strong with the clam and fennel appetizer--fantastic. I then moved on to papardelle, which I liked very much. Soft, not too soft, homemade pasta. I heard the chicken was not exciting but the fries with it were quickly chewed into oblivion.
Our late arrivals had the papardelle and a prosciutto/arugula pizza. I could smell the spice of the arugula, lightly warmed by contact with the pizza crust, from across the table. Fresh, fresh, fresh.
Dessert provided plenty of berries for the self-professed dessert haters (poor things) and a fabulous chocolate marble torte for me, as well as a cookie plate and strawberry shortcake. We had our table, we had our time together, and it was a warm and elegant place, ours from seven till 10, with no rush and no slacking either.
Perhaps the key is to let them know that you care about being there. It is not a place just to drop in and go. Listen to the music, take your time, and you will be rewarded. -

One of the last few times I went to old Doughboys, I noticed this place being built. Then I promptly forgot about it. It wasn't until we were looking for a place to take a friend for her birthday that I remembered I had a Blackboard Eats discount code for this place. It's also located near the new Frosted Cupcakes.
I made reservations by calling as Opentable didn't have the time I wanted. We arrived promptly and were seated even though the Valet-phile was there yet (she later utilized the $6 valet even though there is plentiful street parking).
I ordered a whiskey sour to start ($13) and we were brought amuse bouches before the Valet-phile got there. I thought that was a bit weird. Especially since the server didn't explain what they were. We figured it was crostini with a bit of creme fraiche but what was this meat-like thing in it? Hm.
I couldn't decide what to order and had been eating a lot of beef and pork lately. And normally I'd get seafood but I didn't like the sides that came with the sea bass so I decided to get the Jidori chicken. Normally I stay away from chicken as I find it boring but I thought it'd be good to break up my endless days of pork and more pork.
We all ordered salads to start. I wish the server had told me my meal described to have "mustard greens" was actually a salad! Geez! I wouldn't have ordered to salads! I would have ordered a soup to start. Bad server. My beet salad was $12.
So yeah, I liked both my salads but seriously, no way would I come back here again. Especially since the server didn't even ask me if I wanted another drink, silently took away our wine glasses and never checked on us. I also disliked the manager never asked if we liked our meals as well and just took the check away at the end. Um, yeah.
The Valet-phile liked her veggie lasagna and the gay boyfriend loved his turkey meatloaf. I felt myself longing for his meal.
There are plenty of restaurants in LA with similar menus with a million times better service. If I'm going to shell out $24 for chicken, I'm going to go where I'm treated like I'm wanted.
The only person who seemed moderately nice in the whole joint was the hostess but only in comparison to the others. The person who talked to us the most is probably the food runner who brought our bread, cleared the table of crumbs and refilled our water. Needless to say, we weren't thrilled for our poor friend who expected a more celebratory birthday dinner.
So yes, good food but horrible, horrible service.

Review: I got drunk on the amazing Cucumber Martinis and punch drunk inhaling the fresh produce that was magically transformed into Cold Cucumber Soup, Prociutto and Ruccola Pizza and Tomato and Mozzrella and Tuna Tartare and Ricotta Ravioli with Lamb Ragu with a hint of mint. The chef came out to chat and she told us that her passion is farm fresh produce. She goes twice a week and loads up on really hearty seasonal ingredients and changes up the menu accordingly.
To all those who thought it was just OKAY...give it another chance. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
