Very good food! I ordered the Texas fajitas & my wife ordered  the shrimp diablo. Cheese dip w/jalapeño and a lot of guacamole dip!
The meat for the texas fajitas was very tender. Shrimp, chicken, and steak.
The shrimp diablo was to oversauced I thought for the amount of food that was included. It almost looked soupy but it did tasted good. The Guacomole was very enjoyable!

The only con was that they did not want to prepare my first order which was a shrimp cocktail they did not recommend.

I would recommend this restaurant. I went on a Friday night @ 8:30 pm, no crowd and received great service!

"Hambre es la mejor salsa" (Hunger is the best salsa)
    -Miguel Cervantes

I don't think it is a coincidence that I have found myself driving past Amigo's hungry during lunch time many times over the last 10 years! It is the perfect stop on Buford for a quick, consistently good lunch. I am a fan of their Huevos Rancheros. Their sauces are all good, the usual rice/beans/chips staples are all fine. The service is always good, food comes out quick. 100 on their last health score makes it a great pick! I always arrive hungry, always leave full!

"Best Chicken Soup in the Country"

When a hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant has a handmade sign with an advertisement like that, how can you not try it? They offer 2 sizes, just go for the big one. You will be begging for a refill. My brother and I ordered some burritos and enchiladas, but they quickly became "sides" to the soup. It's so  amazing-- so flavorful, so many fresh ingredients (avocados!) and textures.

I will crave Amigo's chicken soup whenever I'm feeling a little sick or it's drizzling outside or just feeling like a good, GOOD soup. Other than that though, I have not much to say about this place, so 3 stars.

Food was good and fresh. Hubby had the chili relinos plate. I had the pork with the green sauce and a kick. One order of delicious guac. Place is celebrating 10 year anniversary. 98 health score. Nothing has changed in those ten years. Food is consistant and if decor is a big deal for you too bad.

I went here after seeing the reviews on Yelp. I may have just had a bad lunch but the fajitas (beef) weren't so great. Gristle was pretty bad and I think I found a bone or two.

The rest of the food (sans the soup) was your standard mexican food.

The chicken soup was really good, though. I'm not even a normal soup fan and I found it a little weird getting soup from this place.

Pretty standard mexi place. Their "worlds best" soup is pretty good.

Let me just say that although I am not the biggest Mexican fan, my parents are. They are from Chicago and have managed to find the best Mexican within 50 miles of their home. They had done their research for best Mexican restaurants in Atlanta to go to whenever they come to visit (at least 3 times a year). Out of all that we have tried so far, the best is only 2 minutes from our house, Amigo's! How convenient!
They serve this incredible soup at the beginning of each meal, it is to die for. The food is hearty, authentic Mexican & the prices for the quantity can't be beat. All of us leave incredibly satisfied. The staff is very pleasant & they love kids. It's not the fanciest place but cute and we have never had to wait to be seated anytime we visit.
The only complaint I have is the margaritas, although decent, they don't put enough liquor in it. My father always orders extra shots of tequila to add to it.

This place is a hidden gem. We go at least once a week and have never had a bad experience. Service is always great and so is the food. The soup, as everyone else has said, is incredible. I'm not a soup lover, but this is great. I think most people look at the outside (a little dumpy) and drive right by - I know we used to. Since we tried it the first time, though, we go there whenever we want Mexican. Everywhere else pales in comparison.
