I'm so happy to have re-discovered Amiels. Is it just me, or have they gotten better over the years? Love their buttered & toasted rolls. Very tasty alternative to Subway's bland subs and DiBella's. Don't get me wrong, I love DiBella's, but Amiels subs are tastier.

    Good freakin' sandwiches.

One of the few things that ended up as good as the town's residents claimed.

YUMMMY.  Large selection of sandwich options, lots of seating, and reasonable prices.  You order at the counter, they make it, and you go to the register to pay.

My in-laws live in the next town over so we come here twice a year.  It has pretty much become a ritual for the family to grab a quick bite or a couple of subs to go.  The atmosphere reminds me of a 50s themed diner.  Our favorite is a custom sub my wife came up with on one of early early trips here.  It is a tuna w/ capicola on wheat sub and if done right is quite the treat.  We have probably had at least a dozen of these over the years.  They are typically generous with their portions so I was a bit suprised that our visit this past week garnered a less than subpar sub.  Maybe this lady was new here, but it doesn't excuse the less than liberal helpings of tuna, lettuce, tomatoes, and capicola.  It tasted like a bread sandwich with a hint of tuna.  Quite dissapointing and with so many new restaurant/eatery options in the area I will have to admit that our Dec 2011 experience will make us think twice about coming back for more.  Here's to hoping the owners find my note here.  For a place that seems to live by word of mouth making sure this doesn't happen again should be a top priority.

Excellent sandwich shop.  Great selection, but the best on the menu is the roast beef sandwich with horseradish.  Also, even though it's not great health-wise,  I definitely recommend having them butter and toast the roll, absolutely delicious.

The decor is a throwback to old fashion diners but you order at the counter, pay, then sit so you don't have to wait for servers to come around.  Prices are also very reasonable.

This place is in a shopping mall and does not look like a Mom and Pop operation. It's pretty big. I got a roast beef sub on a "wheat" sub roll. Guy behind the counter said roast beef was their best offering. They did not have oil and vinegar as a choice for a sub topping, but did have an Italian dressing that was okay. I got lettuce, something that looked like tomato slices (I know, it's the dead of winter) , onions, provelone  and pepper and salt on the sub. They did not offer oregano.
They weighed the roast beef before putting it on, to ensure I would only get the prescribed amount, which I wish was more. The roll was actually quite tasty. The sparseness of the meat would be my biggest complaint.
I got 2 bottles of Hank's Gourmet diet root beer as well. Stewarts is just as good, or better.
Total was a tad over $10, which for a big sub, was fine.
Bottom line: better than the chain sub places, but not at the level of a truly great Mom and Pop place where they really lay on the meat!
