I'm not sure how "authentic" Amicci's is, but I loves this place.
Although it's "A Very Casual Eatery and Bar," this doesn't at all compromise the quality of food they serve or the ambiance (or the dress code of the patrons. It seems people come dressed to the nines or in jeans). My dining partner and I ate in the bar area, but there was a separate dining room that seemed perfectly lovely. They offer a great happy hour special of $3 house wines and $5 apps, so we decided to split the calamari, which was pretty good. It was lightly fried, crispy, and included both the rings and tentacles (which I love).
My dining partner ordered the Penne Amicci and I got the House Gnocchi, and we both really enjoyed our dishes as well as each other's. I really like Amicci's marinara sauce as it's sort of zesty (as opposed to sweet) and contains chunks of tomato, but if you're not into the texture of tomato then you may not like their marinara. Some of the gnocchi was taken home for leftovers and was enjoyed reheated the next day just as much as the first time around. With prices being so reasonable, I already can't wait to come back again and try the other dishes on their menu. -

I love Amicci's.....I really do. However, I know compared to other authentic Italian restaurants, Italian purists would probably give 3 stars as well.
The only reason I give 3 stars is because the pasta is always a little overcooked (I prefer aldente) and the bread situation is pretty meek (basically a plain roll, sliced, served with cold butter packets). Besides these 2 flaws, Amicci's is fabulous. I have had almost every pasta dish on their menu (I used to work down the street for 3 years...don't judge), and I have always been completely satisfied with my meal. The portions are large, the prices are honest, and the flavors are comforting and spot on. I highly recommend the gnocchi....it is one of the best I have ever had. You really can't go wrong with any menu item...just remember, if you like your pasta aldente, tell the waitress.
This is not your white linen table cloth, $40 bottle of red Italian restaurant, this is your grandma's kitchen, putting out yummy comfort food in a comfortable environment in Little Italy. -

This is my favorite Italian restaurant in Little Italy because the dishes are always consistently good, they give you generous portions, and the ambience is great.
I always get their amazing HOUSE SALAD- they have the best dressing I've had at any Italian place, it's sweet and garlicky and served cold on greens. The Pane Rotundo is really good too- great to try if you go here with a group of people. Bread is super crispy, sauce is cream and garlicky, and large meaty shrimp!!!
I also like their Rigatoni Bolognese, which is al dente rigatoni served in a creamy tomato beef sauce. I also really like their Chicken Lorenzo which is chicken fried crispy with melted, gooey cheese on top served with a sweet sauce with large chunky, fresh veggies. I've also tried their Penne Amicci, Tortellini, Lasagna, Chicken Parmesan- they're all pretty good. -

We walked through little Italy and discovered this family restaurant. Food was very good and authentic (huge portions), a lot of special offers makes this place a good choice if budget concious. It was close to our hotel and the food was very good. Service was warmth and very good. On another note I have to complain about our server not knowing go what a Bellini or a Kir Royale is. For me this is unforgivable, otherwise I would visit again.

Two words: HAPPY HOUR!
Monday-Friday, 3-10 pm, $5 for red or white mussels, calamari, house salad, and ceaser salad.
They give you a HUGE bowl of delicious mussles in a white wine sauce, a platter of calamari, and a house salad with the most amazing, yet slightly tart vinagrette. All this for $5- what a DEAL!
As for the pasta, Jill's Jacked up Shrimp pasta is really, well, QUITE jacked up. This is probably the spiciest pasta I've ever tasted at a restaurant- and this is coming from a girl who can eat a whole bag of hot cheetos in one sitting. They really mean it when they say it's spicy! Quite tasty too! -

You can never go wrong with Amicci's delicious lasagna and a glass of red wine!
I must say, for a quick, warm, casual night out, this place is definitely the way to go.
My only criticism is menu misspelling.... it's limoncello, not lemoncello! -

Is Italian really that hard to get right? Maybe it is. I've been to Amicci's a few times, and for one, I've always hated the decor. Having window panes to make the restaurant seem more open is a great idea, but littering the walls with stereotypical mob movies is not.
I've had a couple dishes, and they're really just lousy. The manicotti was dry and powdery and made me choke, the appetizers are bland, and ... ugh. The majority of the time, I end up here because I've been dragged by a friend or a co-worker who swears it's the best Italian in Baltimore. I think it's the lousiest food in Little Italy, and I haven't even been to other "fine dining" Italian places in Baltimore.
Why do I keep ending up here?? -

Brought my family here for Easter dinner and was under budget! Bonus. I like that Amiccis is pretty casual for a fancy Italian place. You can watch the O's at the bar or sit and have a nice authentic meal with family. The Pane Rotundo was a fabulous appetizer but I'm glad we split it 5 ways. It's a pretty big loaf for a small table. My dad referred to it as the Italian biscuits and gravy. A 1/2 loaf of bread, garlic, toasted and filled with shrimp and scampi sauce. My parents both had the lasagna and it was magnificent. I know because I had mom's leftovers for dinner later that night. Hi, Mom!
This is a solid place with no complaints from me but then again I'm easy to please. -

Will come back one day to try the food. -
Review from Jess I.
I had some leftovers from Amiccis a friend had offered to me one night we got together. It was really good so I thought I'd see if my boyfriend would like to try it out. I really wanted to get the signature appetizer, but for 15 dollars and the large size of it, I didn't even bother to bring it up. We have different taste, so I knew he wouldn't want to split a dish with me if we got that big app.
Instead we got the mozzarella and tomato app. Not enough basil in my opinion, and I wasn't expecting it to come out drenched in dressing. Usually places just drizzle some (garlic) olive oil over all of it. Don't get me wrong, the dressing is good, but I just wasn't expecting that. Just an FYI.
I got Judith's? dish I believe. Sausage, pepper, onion, mushroom, and red sauce...I added some shrimp as well. It was sooooo good and garlicky.
The bread they put on the table could be a little more authentic. Instead, I think it's just white bread. Plain, not very good. No olive oil or vinegar. Usually I continue to eat bread throughout the course of my meal and keep asking for more. Not this time.
I don't know if someone forgot that it was 110 degrees outside, but I swear to god the AC was barely working. I couldn't eat my meal comfortably and wound up having to pack the rest of it because I kept sweating.
The strawberry mojito was very good, refreshing.
The guy next to me was from London or something, out of town. He got served the wrong dish, and his server siad someone else grabbed it on accident. That's happened to me before elsewhere, so I don't really put it against the restaurant, it just happens everywhere.
I would probably not come back to the restaurant, but I would definitely order take out. This review gets 4 stars based on how the food tasted. The restaurant itself would probably get 2.5. -

With all the choices of Italiano in the little Italy area of Baltimore it was hard to choose one. We settled on Amicci's because of the Kelly's salad. The salad was very yummy. The wine list was so so, and the entrees were adequate. The cannoli was tasty but they didn't have an espresso machine (surprising). With all the other choices, think we would try some of the others before making a return trip.

Amiccis is solid proof that you can't always trust Yelp ratings to pick the best restaurant. Luckily, choice of restaurant was left to my dining companion and he doesn't rely as heavily on Yelp as I do!
I had been craving Italian all day, and Amicci's had the exact cosy Italian restaurant feel that I was hoping for, so I was thrilled when I found out this was our destination.
The house appetizer, garlic bread with alredo sauce and shrimp, is pretty good but it is SO heavy. Order with caution, it's really rich. The eggplant parmagiane was out of this world good, and I'm so thrilled to have leftovers for lunch today. I can eat eggplant in any form, particular in parm form, so I've tried my fair share of this dish at other restaurants. Amiccis eggplant parm has a unique flavor, and I'm not sure what it is but it was pretty fantastic. The slurp-tastic side of linguine was a bit meager but they brought us extra when we asked so yay for that.
Service is very friendly and attentive, and as I said the food is delicious. The feel of Amiccis is certainly cosy, and you'd be comfortable coming here no matter who you're with or what you're wearing. The food is also SUPER reasonably priced which was a big plus. -

First thing's first: the bread served at this restaurant actually smelled like yeast. This is pretty unusual and it was really soft and delicious. Our table split garlic bread and calamari for appetizers. The garlic bread was fragrant and tasty, but the calamari was definitely underseasoned. Had the oven-baked gnocchi bolognese for my entree and could only eat about a third of the dish before I was full, and it was very rich and delicious.
Service was very friendly and fast, and prices were reasonable. I guess I didn't find anything all that remarkable about it, even though I remember that the food was delicious. -

My husband and I moved to Little Italy 5 years ago when I was pregnant with my first child. I was 9 months pregnant and ready to pop! We discovered Amicci's one evening after hearing about the restaurant from friends and family. Little Italy has an array of restaurants that are always mentioned in conversation- but Amicci's wasn't one of those regularly sought out, touristy places.
We started with the Pane Routundo, which is the signature appetizer. The waitress brought over a huge round piece of toasted garlic bread, covered in scampi sauce and four large shrimp. Delicious, rich and addictive to say the least! Definitely something everyone must try! We shared a house salad next. Their house dressing is delicious- has a sweet, garlicky, red onion flavor. Then on to the main course, if the first two dishes weren't filling enough! My husband and I each ordered something different. The portion size is huge! Enough to share and take home left overs. I ordered the Shrimp Fra Diavlo, which is now called something else on the menu, but they still serve this dish. If you like spicy food, this is the one to order. Spicy is not even the word for this sauce- fiery and hot to say the least!
Being 9 months pregnant when I first stepped foot in Amicci's, I became hooked! I probably gained 10 more pounds from Amicci's alone. We now go to the restaurant at least once a week and recommend the delicious food to any friend, family member, or tourist looking for great food in Little Italy. We bring our two children and they are taken well care of by the staff! They always remember the children's special requests- extra cucumbers and black olives in our salads! You don't want to miss this place! -

Good place to eat and very decent food for the prices. The tomato/mozzarella (caprese) salad is very generous and really good. They also have mussels in white wine sauce for $5 on weekdays. I got the baked manicotti and the chicken parmigiano and they were good. Don't expect a super spectacular food but the marinara sauce is very decent. Sadly, the Maggiano's chain dishes have more flavor than this place, but for a good informal and filling meal, this place does the work. I perefr to have set expectations and go to Amiccis than trying any other overpriced restaurants in Little Italy and get pissed off with a "overpriced bland dish". I would recommend Amiccis.

As a teenager/twenty something, we enjoyed dinning in Little Italy with my father and family. The good thing about experiencing the world on your own is the finding of treasures in a town you are already familiar with. Amicci's would be the diamond I found in Little Italy a few years back when I returned home to Maryland from the West Coast. Not one for pretentious restaurants, Amicci's fits like a well worn glove, comfortable and familiar.
The atmosphere is homey and dishes are authentic and made with TLC. I have yet to have a meal I did not enjoy at Ammici's. Their bread is to die for. Their house salad dressing is on the money.
For appetizers: the calamari is perfection and their signature app the Pane Rotundo is mouth watering.
My husband's favorite dishes include: Eggplant Parmigiana accompanied with pasta in marinara sauce, as well as lasagna. My go to dish is: Penne Ammici (but I opt for the cream sauce vs the marinara), penne pasta with sausage, mushrooms and spinach. I have also enjoyed their house gnocchi (spinach, red peppers and ham in a cream sauce) and their manicotti.
The pasta is fresh, the portions large and the service has always been pleasant, from the host to the servers. The only thing I would say is ok is their desserts. But generally, dinner fills you up too much to desire dessert and luckily Vaccaros is right around the corner.
They have a new bar and offer happy hour and Sunday Football specials.
The have a variety of dining options, catering and private party rooms.
Ammici's is perfect for any occasion and you won't leave disappointed. -

If you're hungry and feeling some decent Italian, Amicci's is definitely the place to hit up. You can just stroll in regardless of what you have on.
I would definitely recommend their very popular appetizer.. I believe its called the shrimp rotunda.. AMAZING! its a huge portion.. great starters for a group of four to devour...
The price range at this restaurant, considering the food quality and quantity, is definitely a great deal! I had enough left-overs for lunch for two days! So essentially, I paid $14 for 3 meals... what a steal!
I have only been here twice- Just this January was my first time and I was so excited I had to yelp. Took some visiting friends over also in Feb. I will definitely be going over there again when I am craving Italian or just in the area.
I would have to bring the rating down from 4 to 3.5 because my second visit allowed me to gather from my friend's orders that some of Amicci's meals might be a bit of a miss. My boyfriend's pasta tasted like something I could have made at home. And I'm really not the best cook. We also got the calamari and I learnt pretty quickly to stick to the shirmp rotunda.
If you are feeling something really fancy, and money is not an issue, or you are trying to take a couple high-maintenance guests out.. you might not LOVE this place.. but it's definitely a good, chill, affordable italian restaurant, better for a casual night out! -

Happy Hour is a winner. What a treat to end a tough work day with good food and reasonable drinks and put a $20 down on the bar including a good tip. There is really nothing that isn't good unless you are a serious wine snob and just can't drink the red or white wine selection offered at HH prices. If a glass of decent red and a really nice size ceasar or house salad with a big, nicely done chicken breast on top is a good dinner, you have it made here. The mussels in white (too rich for me) or in marinara are truly a bargain. Lots of good mussels and a few hunks of Italian bread for soaking up the sauce are terrific. The salads, mussels, and fried calamari that is usually pretty good are all $5 during the long happy hour. The hours mean that you can enjoy yourself and still eat a meal at Amicci's (if you can) and not break the bank or get a ticket trying to get there in time to enjoy those specials.
My only complaint is that I miss Ron the bartender. The current guys are really nice but Ron was so professional and obsessed with providing great service that his absence really makes a difference. -

Thanks to Amiccis for advertizing on GoogleMaps, your restaurant stood out, and we were not disappointed. My daugter and I were only in town for 24 hours but wanted to sample the downtown atmosphere. Getting here was an adventure; we came in via 395. If your GPS tells you to go down Pratt St ignore it, stay to the left and go down W. Baltimore. It is a lot more colorful drive in anyway, you will know what that means if you try it. (No race reference there, let's call it "neon" colorful).
We got a parking spot right on Pratt between High St and Exeter - how can you beat that? No meter, we were out of cash anyway.
Walked by Da Mimmo's with their sign reading "Best Chef in Baltimore", but since we had made 8:30 reservations we decided to trust our gut and with our original decision. We were an hour early and let them know we were there, and we were fine to wait unless they wanted to seat us early. We went into the bar and ordered a bottle of wine to split. Their Paul Ponnelle Pinot Noir was a great choice and went well with the meal. We were a little put off by their goofy wine glasses however, what's up with that?
On our way to Baltimore I had explained to my daugter the story of how the Ersay's had moved the Colts out of Baltimore in the middle of the night and how people in Baltimore hated people from Indy for that. The bar at Amicci's is full of old Baltimore Colts memorabilia, and she loved it. They have an Art Donovan jersey and an old Colts pennant. Did you know the Baltimore Colts won Super Bowl V ?
Restaurant was "very" casual, the bar and wait staff was friendly, and the place was very warm compared to a lot of places we have been. That was very relaxing. Order the garlic bread with cheese, it will feed 3 or 4, and was served literally right out of the oven. Now that I think about it, the dining area was very quiet too.
Both the Chicken Parm and the Bolognese were tasty and hot. The Bolognese had a little too much cream as it's color was more orange than red, but it tasted fine. The linguini was tasty but the whole meal would have popped with an on-premise fresh pasta. Deserves its 4 star+ rating. -

This is a great casual Italian eatery in the heart of Little Italy, and at least by my estimation, the best Baltimore has to offer (except maybe Vaccaro's, which is a whole other story). You might be able to star watch here. I have seen at least one notable actor and a dead-ringer for Cruella de Ville. :)
During residency, I used to come here all the time (despite being on a resident's salary). The pane rotundo is both dangerous and delicious. I seem to recall ordering numerous dinner options and being happy with all of them, but I eventually settled on the lasagna and never looked back.
Scouting for parking is an adventure, but isn't it always in Baltimore? I always make the effort to come here when I'm in town. Sometimes there's a wait, but it's never been enough to be entirely discouraging. But maybe that's because I like this place so much.
Desserts are probably good but I wouldn't know--Vaccaro's is just across the street. Those cannolis issue a siren call that is yet unmatched.
One final note--I used to come here before the idea of "healthy eating" ever entered my consciousness. I can't vouch for those of you answering to a WW meeting leader, or your bathroom scale the next morning. But it's worth coming here, in any case! -

We picked Amiccis at random, figuring that we couldn't go far wrong with a place in Little Italy. They were busy on a Sunday evening so the 15-20 minute wait wasn't unexpected. When they finally said they had a seat for us we were walked back past several sections of empty seating to the very back room (I joked with the seater that I thought we were going to end up like "Lady and the Tramp" eating in the alley.) At first I thought, okay, we have this big room to ourselves, quiet dinner coming up. Then they immediately sat a table of 6 loud talkers right next to us.
Service was inattentive and somewhat surly. Plain white bread arrived long after we ordered our entrees and a few moments before the appetizer. Had to ask for olive oil (waitress looked at me like this was some sort of unusual request - in an Italian restaraunt?) I had to go retrieve salt and pepper from another table myself.
The "House signature appetizer" was simply disappointing - soggy 1/2 loaf of bread ladden with white sauce. The large shrimp on top were quite good, but hardly redeemed the dish. I've seen other postings here that were complimentary of this appetizer - perhaps we got a bad batch or something because it is not what I expected from the description.
Entrees were so-so. I had the Gnocchi Bolognese which was quite filling. My wife had a dish with shrimp, green bell pepper, marinara sauce and linguni and she commented that the pasta was over done and that the sauce lacked flavor.
All together, this place is off of my list. Won't go there again. It's a shame, because we have such good memories of visits to restaraunts in the area. We'll have to be much more careful next time we visit. -
Review from Jen W.
This has always been a staple for me in Little Italy. It's not the old school or high cuisine Little Italy, but it is a casual in between eatery. Over the years, it has expanded so there is more waiting room with the bar and more dining space with a menagerie of rooms on 2 floors.
Sometimes, there is a long wait but this cold night, we were seated quickly. The service was efficient and pleasant. The food here is good and basic. No frills but consistent with large portions. You don't leave hungry. I usually get the gnocchi with prosciutto in a cream sauce which is my favorite here, but this time, I got the eggplant parm with a side of linguine. It was very good. Nice thin slices batter dipped in egg and served with a tomato sauce with melted cheese. The linguine was perfunctory as much is with the star of the show. The other dish we ordered was the ravioli which was nice though no show stopper. Portions are always plentiful and the bread basket is perfect for scooping up remaining sauce.
Amicci's meets the needs of an Italian food craving. Not quite a 3 and almost a 4 this time. I would rate it a 3.5 (which doesn't exist in the Yelp world yet). -

Amicci's is an excellent, reasonably-priced, authentic Italian in Baltimore's Little Italy. It is cozy and has old-world charm with lots of Mafia-movie posters throughout. I thought it was a nice added touch.
Their food exceeded my expectations. Service was fast; although they were semi-busy, dinner arrived within 20 minutes and tasted very fresh. I recommend the Penne Primavera. Also, if you're not watching your carbs, try the garlic-cheese bread. Yum!
Our waitress was friendly and attentive, but not overly so.
FYI: They do not take reservations within the hour, so call way ahead or plan to wait a short while if they're really busy and you're stopping by on a whim.

Their happy hours here are great to stop by after work, and their regular dinner menu is great. I had a very rich and creamy pasta dish here, a few months back--it was flavorful and hearty, and left me full and happy.

I visited Amicci's by chance 10 years ago. It was casual, inviting and not overly pretentious, Most places in Little Italy try too hard, but Amicci's reminded me of New York. Its all about the food. It was just perfect. The portions were just right, the staff was available but not obtrusive and I felt like the owner was in the back directing the show. I even remember how much I loved the paintings on the wall and how inviting they were.
I came back a few months ago, after the remodel and expected a change in the quality of food as well... The sauce was as good as I remember. The staff was professional, but treated us like their friends. We stayed for another hour to watch the game that was on and never felt rushed. Being a New Yorker, I make it my quest to find food close to home. Its a shame that people that live in Baltimore have the chance to have Amicci's everyday and that I have to trick my friends to come up to Baltimore from Annapolis just to have the best Italian in the city. Please keep your style! -

Review from Peter K.
"Casual dining" has different meanings for different people. For me, I want to eat like I'm at home: tasting delicious food in comfortable clothing, forgetting my problems and not worrying how much a meal is going to cost me after I'm satiated. Eating is the most important business!
When my wife told me that Amicci's was her favorite Italian restaurant in Baltimore, I was wondering why she never took me there. I thought for a second about the culinary excitement [sic] that comes from that Italian American restaurant chain, Olive Garden. It couldn't be...
Upon further review, I realized that it was my fault for always pushing to go to the Brewer's Art [http://www.yelp.com/bi...] or Chesapeake Wine Company [http://www.yelp.com/bi...] when we're in MD. Ok, let me take it easy on the bars and try this Italian restaurant.
One minor headache involved searching for street parking. Be advised that you may be driving in circles. Upon finding parking, we walked into Amicci's without reservations and sat down at a table. Looking around, the restaurant has a very plain decor and does not look fancy. There are private rooms and a bar but nothing about this place tells me that I'm going to eat well.
Looking at the menus, the first thing I noticed were the prices of the food. Then the wine. The wine bottles range from $22 - $32. What a relief. The Farnese Montepulciano was a great choice. Looking at the waitstaff, the servers are all young females. They look like college girls. Cute ones.
I've tried the garlic bread, house salad, baked eggplant parm (comes with a side of linguine) and sausage cacciatore. I thought every item was deliciously home cooked. The salad on a few occasions may have overboard with the vinaigrette dressing. Upon request, any item can be made with the Fra Diavolo ("brother devil") sauce. I like it spicy and this provides heat.
I couldn't finish my entrees. I was full... but the desserts were exquisite (see photos).
After completion of the meal, I realized that Amicci's isn't fine dining (ala Babbo) but more informal, every day eating. With the prices, I could eat here everyday.
Advice for newbies:
+ Skip the bread. Order the pane rotundo... garlic bread is good too.
+ Order an entree.
+ If drinking wine, I would order a bottle because the prices per glass do not compute (even if I were dining by myself).
+ Dessert availabilities change, but I am a fan of the Tiramisu and the cannolis. I don't know if they are made on the premises but the shell is crispy and the filling is fresh and delicious.
Amicci's is billed as a "very casual eatery". Add in the overused adjectives warm, cozy, tasty and affordable and you'll learn how this is a great restaurant in Baltimore's Little Italy. Now I know why Amicci's was my wife's favorite.
It's mine now, too.

Amicci's Restorante in Little Italy, Down Town Baltimore is an authentic Italian legend full of charm and Old World atmosphere. After all Amicci's is located in TWO 100 year old row houses in Historic Little Italy. The extensive menu covers traditional Italian tastes. You and your guests will enjoy authentic, pasta, chicken, veal and fresh seafood entrees. Their attentive staff and delicious cuisine that's moderately priced is sure to provide you with a memorable dinning experience.
Their Facility can accommodate everything from a simple intimate cocktail party downstairs, to a larger scale group of 20-30 party upstairs. Try having your next happy hour at The Bar in Amicci's. Enjoy your cocktails, draft beers local and imported brews, and an extensive wine list with some of Amicci's famous starters. Me and my guest enjoyed huge mozzarella on top of juicy sliced tomatoes with fresh basil drizzled, extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette dressing. The succulent fresh steamed mussels cooked in garlic butter and white wine was morsels of big flavor worth sucking on.
For the main entrée I ordered the Chicken Lorenzo a huge breaded boneless chicken breast smothered with tomato-marsala wine sauce, seasoned with ham, fresh zucchini, crushed garlic, roasted peppers, mushrooms and linguini marinara. Nothing beats a well made pasta with flavors so bold and menus that melts in your mouth. Amicci's is indeed one of the best cozy and moderate priced Italian Restorante (compared to other Italian restaurants in the area) in Charm City that I can highly recommend. Best of all its right in front of Little Italy's open air Film Festival Yard, which makes Amicci's location the best spot to hang out for drinks or dine before or after the movie. -

The tomato and mozzarella appetizer is, literally, drowning in balsamic dressing. However, the garlic bread was fabulous - huge slices of crusty bread, seasoned well and not overly buttered. I also had the vegetable gnocchi. The vegetables were perfectly sauteed and the tomato sauce was amazing and fresh. The gnocchi were a little firmer than I prefer and the dish needed a lot more cheese, in my opinion. Overall, not bad!

"Very" Casual Eatery
I went here this last week with a Gal Pal. I tried to called for a
6:30 reservation but they couldn't do it but they could do a 7:00 at
this was a Tuesday night!
This place is smaller than I expected but was perfect atmosphere. The
service was quick here. Place was decorated in framed movie
psotersOnce we ordered I swear our food was on our table in less than
1o minutes... maybe close to 5 minutes.
I tried the Rigatoni Scotto 12.99- Rigatoni pasta tossed with
Prosciutto ham, green peas, and diced plum tomatoes, sauteed in a
creamy, parmesan Alfredo sauce. It was very good. my only complaint
was that there may have been a few too many peas in it and the peas
were a bit harder then I liked. However, overall it was VERY yummy.
My Gal Pal had the Tortellini 13.99- With Peas And Prosciutto Ham
Cheese-filled tortellini sauteed with prosciutto ham and green peas in
a creamy Alfredo sauce.
Overall I was very impressed and can't wait to go back.

Okay, I've given them three tries. Summary: awful, bland, not seasoned and greasy. Uneventful and overpriced for the Chef Boyardee calibre "eye-talian" you get here.
I'm struggling to even find it on par with even Olive Garden. It's that awful.
Eggplant Parmesan is a stomach of bland, bubbly government mozzarella melted in a microwave on top of a fried eggplant squish pie- no texture, no taste, just a pasty grease rain parade in your mouth.
Garlic and Sundried Tomato Penne with Fresh vegetables is a joke. Creamy, sure, but not a single murmur of garlic present. Vegetables were limp, unseasoned and overly ripe. Gross. Not even my cat wanted it.
The Amicci's take on Italian Bread: Wonder Bread in an Italian costume. Boring and stupid.
The Calimari is the only decent thing I had out of the entire meal. It was truly the fried chicken of the sea with a side of acidic unseasoned marinara dipping sauce.
The entire meal needed about a handful of salt.
This is easily THE WORST Italian Restaurant in Little Italy.
Awful. -

Casual atmosphere, reasonable prices and friendly service. The food is really quite good and the portions are very generous. The salads and wine line could use a little more attention, but the entres were very good.
Would return. -

I went to this place while visiting the Aquarium and a good friend up in Baltimore. It was Friday night, the place wasn't too packed and the service was phenomenal. The friendly waitress recommended the staple appetizer; Pane' Rotundo, it was delicious bread stuffed with shrimp and smothered in a decadent creamy scampi sauce. Needless to say it disappeared in a matter of seconds. I ordered the House Gnocchi and it was really good. My friend had many vegetarian options for her but also they are very accommodating and would gladly make a vegetarian version of any regular dish. My friend ordered Penny's Tortellini (w/o chicken) and it had the most delicious Alfredo sauce I had ever tasted!!! Highly recommend!

On our first trip to Baltimore, we were wandering around after visiting the Baltimore Aquarium and happened upon Nancy D'Alessandro Pelosi Blvd (really Albemarle St) and turned down it. We asked two old grandpas smoking cigars on a wooden bench the best place in Little Italy to eat lunch. They pointed at Amicci's.
If you are a snobby, white tablecloth, $200 bottle of wine, faux molecular gastronomy type (no offense to the original, unbeatable Jose Andres), Amicci's is definitely not for you. But it is honestly perfect for stumbling in after a cold day sightseeing and eating a GIANT BOWL OF PASTA. Also, the calamari is delicious served with plenty of lemon wedges and ridic marinara dipping sauce. Got very decent montepulciano and chianti for very decent prices.
We have been back to Amicci's every time we've gone to Baltimore! -

Meh! Walking through Little Italy at night can be romantic, but this place didn't impress me! Boys, read: not a date spot!
+s
Mussels were pretty good
(then again, how can you screw them up?!)
Service was good
Prices affordable
-s
Pasta got too watery from the mussels
Food wasn't warm enough
Bread was cold and unflattering
Wine Selection could improve
Menu could use more options
Tips: Now, don't get me wrong, it's not awful. It may be just perfect for a relaxed, Sunday afternoon, family dinner... hmmm ;) -

First trip to Baltimore and my group wanted to dine at an Italian restaurant for lunch. Surprisingly during Labor Day weekend, Amiccis was one of the very few places that was open. We were seated immediately in a separate area from the other diners which was a great plus. I loved the choice of Italian-theme movies hanging in Amicci's dining room walls.
The menu offers classic Italian dishes like lasagna, chicken parmigiana and calamari. Food was enough to share among the three of us, delicious and a great bargain in a homey atmosphere. -

Very casual which is nice if you are popping into Little Italy and are not dressed properly for some of the other, better known places like DaMimmo or Boccaccio's.
The steamed mussels in garlic butter sauce were good and def worth it- they were great and I would put them in the realm of James Joyce's mussels- yummers. The pasta was just ok. The gnocchi was heavy and bland- much better gnocchi at Sotto Sopra and Amicci's decision to add ground beef to it made it seem like I was eating my mom's goulash- and that's not a compliment.... The only other choices that sort of appealed to me had the alfredo sauce which is heavy and way too opulent. The food is heavy an makes you want to take a nap afterward- not necessarily the best reaction to Italian food.
Don't get me wrong, this place def has it's place- just not among the best in Baltimore's Little Italy- but at least the prices are in line with the quality.
Oh, the wine was good too- and reasonably priced. And after 2 bottles my opinion of the food improved- maybe that's their tactic.
If you are making a "special" trip to Little Italy, go for another place. -

Chicken Marsala's where it's at. I found myself to be reasonable full after a meal here. It is one of the cheaper italian restaurants in Little Italy of Baltimore. But don't let the price fool you. The food is pretty good for what you pay. Definitely try out their appetizers such as the pane rotundo, which is one of the restaurant's specialties.
We ordered a bottle of Reisling and we found some crystal formations in it towards the end of the bottle. These apparently are safe tartaric acid crystals, which are a natural acid usually produced during winemaking. But regardless, it was still disturbing to see. I thought I would have had to urinate them out like kidney stones. -

I only come here for the Pane Rotundo. My cousin recently came to visit from Korea and I was thinking about the few dishes he had to eat before he left, and of course, the first thing that came into my mind was the Pane Rotundo. Even though we had a full dinner, I still decided to make the drive up there to eat it.
To describe it, it's pretty much a half a loaf of day old bread which is toasted to perfection. It's covered in a garlic, cream, butter, herb sauce that's pretty much good enough to dip in everything. And it's topped with six large pieces of shrimp. I feel the entrees aren't as great, only because my mouth craves more Pane Rotundo.
