Review from Ken C.
Palo Alto, CA
I have multiple insurance policies with Amica and started 3 1/2 years ago. Since I have never made any claims, I don't have any feedback on that aspect. However in terms of customer service, follow up, pricing, and such, they have been excellent. I too saw that Amica was rated highly by JD Powers which is why I signed up, so I am fully expecting excellent service if I need to file a claim.

Ah, the nightmare that has been my Audi A4 Convertible. [Stop your snickering, asshole. That is NOT a chick car. It is a manly convertible. And "manly convertible" is not an oxymoron. Bite me.]
It got off to an inauspicious beginning, when the doorbell rang on Mother's Day morning 2004, a week earlier than planned. I was greeted by the truck driver who wanted to deliver the car I'd bought used on Ebay and had trucked 2200 miles from Texas. The truck was huge and many of the neighbors came out to see what was going on. I'll never forget the tone of one of them when she learned it was MY car, not some surprise gift for my wife. "Happy MOTHER'S day, Mike" she snarled from across the street. That delivery nearly caused a divorce.
For the most part it has been a great car. Pretty trouble free and a lot of fun. But at 56,000 miles - just 6,000 over warranty - the transmission completely up and died for no reason. Oakland Audi originally wanted a sum similar to the cost of 3 days with one of Elliot Spitzer's hookers, but I was not gonna come out of pocket that much to repair something that should not have failed. So the car sat at Oakland Audi for 3 weeks while I argued with Audi's regional office, until we came to an agreement that they would replace the transmission, and it would only cost me about as much as 2 hours with a Tenderloin crack ho.
So, car running like new again, I pick it up from Oakland Audi on a Friday afternoon after work, and park it in front of my house that evening.
AND I NEVER SEE IT AGAIN.
Yes, brazenly stolen from in front of my house. I understand that modern cars with computer chipped keys are nearly impossible to hot-wire. So someone had a key. But that's odd, cause I HAVE all the keys, and the only way to make a new one is at an Audi dealer. Hmmm. What could have happened? [Watch this space for a review of Oakland Audi.]
But this is about Amica, the best car insurance company around. The one that is constantly at the top of the pack of both the JD Powers survey and Consumer Reports, year after year. I called Amica, and after waiting 3 weeks to make sure the car didn't turn up, they promptly sent me a very fair check for the full value of the missing car. No games, no run-around, just tons of communication and fair treatment.
It was the same treatment I got when years ago another car was very badly damaged in a head-on collision. Their adjuster called the body shop where I took it, and told them to do whatever it took to make it perfect. The guy at the body shop was incredulous. They are an awesome company who will come through for you when you need them to. I have made other claims over the years, and they always provide service with a smile, and never raise your rates if it wasn't your fault.
If the Audi turns up, it's theirs. I hope they have as much fun with it as I did. Even if it is a chick car. -
Review from Terance L.

I'm glad I made the switch. Based in Rhode Island and celebrating their 100th Anniversary and J.D. Power and Associates ranks Amica "Highest in Customer Satisfaction Among National Auto Insurers," Seven Years in a Row. Their success is built on customer satisfaction. What I like best about them is everyone works for the company. As a real estate investor, I don't want to spend time looking for who's the best agent in that part of the city or state. What I want is a company to take care of my needs at what they do best with one phone call and that's what I got when I switched to Amica. Every state I invest in, I make one call to that local office and I'm done. At Amica, each state has a office (or two in bigger states) and they're not individual agents working for their own branch so when you call, you get taken care of by that person from A to Z and not transferred all over the place from department to department. So if you're tired of getting the run around and looking to switch to a better national insurance company, do what I did and give Amica a try.
