Review from Sam L.
I've been coming here since middle school... so um... yes... lots of history here.
I don't even know what to say... other than it's a bowling alley?! I've been here for my sister's birthday, my own, with friends and just tons of other reasons... for many years.
One secret: I really like bowling. I really really do. I am not the best at it... but I really like it. Okay, so one year, someone gave me a bowling ball. It was pink? hahaha. I am not sure why it wasn't green? But it was this great marbled pink color... and another secret... I can punch but apparently, I can't throw a ball that weighs more than 6 lbs. Well, maybe I can... but I like using the 6 lb ball. So as the story goes, the guy pretty much embarrasses me (and it is my birthday.. so it's pretty lame) about using a 6 lb ball. Anyway, so he keeps going on and on and on...and I'm just thinking... yeah, okay. whatever. just give me my ball. Anyway, suffice to say, that after a couple times using the ball, I did crack it. hahaha. So I don't use it any more... but just keep it in the garage somewhere before it really splits in half. hahaha. But in all honesty, it probably is too light... and I throw it too hard... so it makes a loud noise when I throw it down... so perhaps he was right... I don't know.
Also, I like doing the extreme or cosmic bowling.. I am not sure what they call it here.
I haven't been... in forever... but it's a lot of fun! -

For years I've been holding Monday Night bowling for my work at this spot. Yeah it may not be fancy with its big screen televisions or disco lights like the other joints. But this place definitely has a great vibe if you are wanting a good time. The staff here is quite generous and hell they even know your name after a couple of visits.
There's a nice little cafe attached to this place that you can order some grub before a game. And the bar tender is very easy to get along with. I may suck at bowling even after several years of playing. But at the end of the night I've always left with a smile. Yes the place isn't hip as the others but on occasion local celebrities visit from Calabasas. They also have a nice billiard room that you can chill at to watch sports.
The lanes here vary, I have found the furtherest lanes towards the end tend to be the slickest. I know recently they extended their hours but that may have been due to the summer schedule. Allot of great memories at this spot, definitely will continue coming. So if you ever visit this spot on a Monday night and see a group of guys and one of them gutters constantly, that may be me. As much as I would hate giving away this hidden gem of the west side, this is one of the best bowling alleys in the San Fernando Valley. -

The Asian guy that works there is really good looking. 5 stars just for that.

This AMF bowling alley is clean, with well oiled lanes, and a very friendly staff. The bar near the lanes is convenient with good priced drinks. Its just a well run no frills alley. -

If I rated this place based on how much fun I had, it would be 5 stars. Truth be told, though, that fun was due to the group and the pre-drinking done at my house prior to arrival! =)
Xtreme Bowling is a fun thing to do with friends! It's 20 bucks, including shoes and all games, is from 10pm-1am, and you get to enjoy the glow in the dark/blacklight effects while listening to contemporary pop music and spouting all The Big Lebowski quotes you can remember!
Definitely call to reserve a lane; there was a huge line that we didn't have to wait in since we did. There is a pretty mean lady who works at the desk, but if you're sweet to her and smile, she'll soften up! And, uh, hello? No pitchers of beer? Who has time to go get pint after pint when you're trying to bowl?!
A good time was had by all...
"Come on, Donny, let's get us a lane!" -

We recently went to Xtreme Bowling with a group and had a great time!
Xtreme Bowling costs $20. You get shoes and unlimited bowling between 10pm and 1am. They turn the lights off so some things glow in the dark and they play mainly pop music. Believe it or not you may want to call ahead to get a reservation because they actually ran out of lanes. Plus, if you have a reservation you don't have to wait in line.
Just a couple of drawbacks...
- There isn't a "DJ" - so no requests.
- They don't sell pitchers of beer during this time.
- No prizes through the night i.e. raffles for free games etc.
Overall, it was a good time and we'll be back with another rowdy group soon! -

I went bowling here with my six year old nephew yesterday, after the rain finally took a respite. This bowling place is clean and fairly large. I just wished they rented lanes by the hour as opposed to charging by the game. My buddy nephew and I had a lot of fun -- he even got one strike in one set. Good think we got "kicked out" at 5:30 for the league bowlers otherwise the bill would have been in the triple digits. To my chagrin, the bill came to $75; wow! (I was thinking $50 max for the 90 minutes we were bowling.) Expensive and my sister chided both me and her son for waisting so much money. (They go there with his classmates and their parents and play no more than one or two games.) Truth be told, my nephew and I had lots of fun and he definitely improved his bowling.

Wow, sounds like Lauren M. had a really bad experience here. But me, I have yet to go here and not have a great time!
I'm a pretty lousy bowler, and I probably look like I'm having some sort of seizure or epileptic fit as I attempt to heave the ball down the alley. Despite this, I really enjoy bowling, appearances be damned! I must somewhat apologetically note that I have only gone to AMF Woodlake Lanes when I have had some serious coupons - buy one game, get one free - or, even better, completely free games. So the bowling alley isn't exactly raking it in from my visits. And then, as though to add financial insult to injury to the bowling proprietor or proprietress who owns this place - I bring my own bowling shoes. They're not even getting the $4.50 or so for a rental!
And yet...? Yet, despite this, the people at the counter have been - without exception - incredibly friendly and nice - and most of the time stick a coupon or two into my hand when I'm leaving. Good people.
Now, granted, I've never ordered anything from the bar. Although I ought to. It can only improve my game. But I will note that the woman behind the bar - I'm pretty sure it's always been the same lady the time I've been there - has always smiled and said hello as I've come and gone. -

Cool place to roll a few balls. We chose this spot for our after-work festivities. Usually accompanied with a few pitchers of light amber liquid courage, you think you've become Ernie McCracken or Roy Munson. If you seen this flick, you know what I mean! Hehee.
