I imagine my review will help a very, very small niche, and seem literally useless to everyone else who reads it. Well, screw it. I'm the 1%....;)
I don't bowl. I don't even like bowling. I used to drink, but I've really cut down, and honestly, the beer prices in the (typical) seedy bar are kinda up there...
But damn it, Valley View lanes has the best-maintained pinball selection in all of Orange County, I suspect.
So far, they have a table representing "The Sopranos", "Pirates of the Caribbean" "Twilight Zone" and "Ripley's Believe It or Not".
All the machines are maintained at a highly playable level. All the targets register hits, the flippers are strong, and the assorted bumpers all function. Quite simply, the best pinball I've ever played in a very long time. -

Nice bowling alley. Watch up for the specials they have all the time; really saves you some money! Nice bar and they even do karaoke in the bar. Had a great time!

This place is old and outdated. If the service was good, I would overlook the bad things about the place. The service aren't great. This big lady in the front does not seem happy with her job. She was all it took to ruin my bowling experience for the night.
Downside...no childproof rails. Needs to keep updated with the trend. Computers look junky also. -

I'm rating the bar, The Caboose, at least that's what they used to call it. They need a few more flat screens to show more games. The beer is cold, need I say more?

I have to laugh at some of the other reviews...its a bowling alley people! More than three stars is a stretch...the bowling is fun albeit expensive...but when isn't it? The bar is cheesy with cheap beer and bad karaoke. But if you are looking for a low stress friday night, well, its an excellent choice. Oh, and avoid the nachos at all costs ....the bean sauce is bad....very bad.

What can I say- I love $1 mania!!! M-Thurs 9-11pm it's a $5 cover & $1 games and $1 shoes! I can afford to have fun and become good at bowling! This venue is older, but works and theres plenty of parking I front and back! Just remember if you buy a pitcher, they need to see each persons ID to get a glass :-/

Damn, bowling is expensive.
approximately~
$5 shoe rental
$5 per game
$5 each additional game
Good thing they allowed us to do bumper bowling or I wouldn't have paid that much to lose!
It was clean, safe and we had no trouble reserving a lane.
As a side note, had I gone to the bar instead, I would have spent double what the cost of bowling was! Maybe I will take up a new hobby! -

Prior to being AMF, it was owned by someone else, and honestly, this place is REALLY old. Older than me no problem at all. Remnants of the previous owners still hang around such as the "Caboose Lounge" sign that hangs on the ceiling. But still standing. But it's an okay place...nothing amazing. There are better bowling alleys out there.
Quite frankly this place has held up pretty well for how damn old it is. They've done some refreshing with it, but those old Brunswick A2 pinsetters and old ball returns (Americana I think?) are still there, old as hell. The lanes are pretty decent here, I think they finally switched to synthetic. They were wood a long time ago, but I digress. The prices here keep going up. Food is so-so, I guess what you'd expect from a bowling alley. Nothing amazing at all. Booze is alright, but pricey. I want to smash that jukebox and the crap it plays.
I've stopped bowling here actually. I came in to play DDR for awhile, since they had an okay machine, but even that thing is beat to hell and back now. All-in-all, I'm so-so with this place, but I wouldn't go back here, it just costs too much. I know AMF is a name brand when it comes to bowling, but it's just another bowling alley to me. Westminster Lanes was a much better place than this. -

Too bad I didn't know about the Garden Grove AMF when I was a small town girl trying to go bowling in the big city for the first time. Long ago I suffered the shock of big city bowling alleys, I wandered into one armed with $10 and some socks - much to my chagrin, I had to start getting used to spending at least $20 to go bowling.
Enter Garden Grove AMF and Dollar Mania on Monday thru Thursday 9pm - 11pm.
Shoes: $1
First Game: $5
Any more games: $1 each
That's what I call bowling. Plus they had specials (aka "we need to get rid of this food, like, NOW) with $1 popcorn and $1 hot dogs. The lanes were nicely maintained and the balls all seemed in good condition - and were very organized on the racks. Even though it's an AMF, it still has a bit of an old school bowling alley vibe without being too skeezy.
The bar seemed alright, but only a couple of options on tap. However we did end up with four pitchers for $35 - that's not too bad at all. A big downside though, is that they do close at 11pm on weeknights and the bar does last call pretty early, around 10:20 pm or so.
Thumbs Up:
-Dollar Mania!
-Cheap Drinks.
-Very clean and nice.
-Super friendly manager.
Thumbs Down:
-Early last call on weekdays.Listed in: Orange County Bowling Alleys

It's a relatively small bowling alley with 32 lanes or so. It's clean, well kept, and I don't think it's overly crowded. It's a classic bowling alley, without much hoopla. The computer or scoring system as the real bowlers might call it, is up to date.
They still have the mon - thur 9pm to 11pm $5 for the first game and $1 for each game after that.
The folks who work here all seem to be nice as well.
I'll be coming here for some cheap bowling from time to time. -

We had a 'Team In Training' fundraiser here this past weekend. AMF was really accommodating and I'm so grateful to them for being so supportive of our team.
The facility is well kept and the workers were easy going.
The food was also suprisingly good. The pizzas are fresh and tasty - the dough was really yummy. -

I love going here... it's never too crowded and the place is CLEAN and FRIENDLY!
The employees are always quick to offer a helping hand if you have questions regarding anything!
Another great thing about this place is they offer food and have a mini arcade..
I think there's about 20 or more lanes and the TV screens located above every lane are fun & great to look at while you're bowling!
The price isn't as cheap as your usual hole-in-the-wall bowling alleys BUT it's not as expensive as the bowling alley at the Block of Orange! -

I read on the reviews that since they had many lanes, we would not wait. We came in to get a game in, and the girl working the desk was very rude. She said that we would have to wait an hour, so I asked her what nights are better for bowling. She immediately began helping someone who had just walked up and ignored us for the rest of the time. I just walked out. I probably will never go there again considering:
1. the unprofessional service
2. the sailor talk outside of the joint
3. lame lane availability -

Ok what the F??? I come here for a friends bday, why?? Because she is in a bowling league on thursday nights. So, I go to their shitty internet jukebox because all we r hearing is creed, rihanna and equally crappy crap crap shit so I decide to switch it up and play some good shit. Sympathy for the devil and what do they do???? Turn it down sooooo quiet that I can barely hear it! Screw u fucks for turning down my $2 for 2 songs! "You're just a bastard in a basket!!!". That is what I have to say to that place and whoever is running it! However totally possible to bring in your own shit to drink so u don't have to drink dirty beer or overpriced booze! Ya know what I'm sayin??? It was a plus watching people doing a punching themselves in the face dance while rhihanna was playing! Hahahahhahahahah

I recently joined a work bowling league and this is where we bowl, it is a pretty small bowling alley, but its pretty clean it just looks old. Food looks gross so I wont try it, but the service was good (cocktail waitress that is the manager not so nice) and the drinks were decent and cheap. Only three stars though on this rating since the bathroom is gross. Come for the people watching. Parking lot needs a good resurfacing!

My recommendation for your kids next birthday party is hands down the Valley View Lanes in Garden Grove on Valley View. My daughter had her 13th birthday party there and it was the best "destination" experience we've ever had. That same day they had parties for 5 & 10 year olds and the place was not crowded at all and everyone was spaced out so no party runover. Our host "Casey" was great. She was very attentive, upbeat, genuine and hard working. We brought in some fruit and vegies for the party and she put everything on a big platter all pretty and noone even asked her to do it. I was just going to put the stuff out in tupperware bowls. The food there was also surprisingly really good. The kids and the parents loved the pizza and their BBQ wings were delicious. They know what they're doing over there and I was not stressed one bit. Every detail was paid close attention too. A BIG recommendation.
