Big place, tons of lanes, good music, videos, good alcoholic drinks, food service was wonderful (and surprisingly - esp for a bowling alley - VERY good food). Food selection was good, too - better than most place like this. We'll be going back when we hold our quarterly tournaments.
Oh, and we suck, by the way. We just enjoy coming here during non-league play to do a little betting via handicaps and have a good, late night with friends. -

We come here every year for our work group's holiday event, and I've been here a few other times just with a smaller group of friends. As far as bowling alleys go... I mean, it's a bowling alley =). Pretty typical, but it is good and I always have a good time. It's a big place so there are always free lanes, it's clean and well-maintained, typical bowling alley fast food (served lane-side)... things you'd expect at a reasonably nice bowling alley.
They recently did some renovations, and I actually do have one complaint since then. They used to have the balls all laid out in stands throughout the alley, in order of weight so you could find a ball easily. No more stands. There are just balls laid out in the lanes randomly and you have to walk around and hope to find the one you want and steal it from another lane. However, you can go up to the counter where you get your shoes and request a specific ball (although they seem to encourage you to wander aimlessly instead). So I got the ball I needed, but it just seemed like a ridiculous inefficiency. -

As bowling places go, this one is pretty nice. The staff have been friendly each time we go, and the premises are generally very clean and attractive. I'm not sure if they're changing their routine from what has been reviewed with regards to getting a bowling ball, but we were asked for our preferences last time we went, and then they retreived what we asked from from behind the counter. I liked this way better than having to hunt around myself!
We have eaten from the snack bar, and the food is actually pretty decent. All in all, a fine place to visit. -

One of the newer lanes around the machines work well. The place has a nice bar and snackbar with good service. The only negative thing is the alley owned balls are stored right at each lane under the ball returns. Its kind of a pain that people are looking for balls while your trying to bowl.

Not the biggest bowling center in town, but the AMF Sawmill does feature good prices, well maintaned lanes, and best of all, they keep several lanes available for drop-ins even during league bowling nights, which is something that most of the other bowling centers in town do NOT do.
Prices seemed reasonable at $5 a game - I was told that if you're in a league, you get discounts, but oh, well. I also really liked that their pro shop is open later than most of the other pro shops in town.
I didn't try the food, but prices seemed comparable to the food at most other bowling places around town. If you want to bowl and you're nearby, it's worth dropping by.Listed in: Bowl-A-Rama!

The AMF Sawmill is awesome. I'm a semi-competitive bowler (ok, I'm very competitive, but I don't play in sanctioned leagues) and I love the leagues here. They have a wide variety of days, times, and ability levels, which allows everyone a chance to get in to a good league.
I think AMF is very reasonably priced, but I just moved here from CA, so everything is reasonably priced :).
League bowlers pay under $2 a game plus there's free practice on Sunday mornings from 9-11am.Listed in: Indoor Fun

Loved this place! I haven't been bowling in forever... and I didn't come close to winning but it was still a blast! This place has awesome flat screen TVs! Their service at the bar was very good. It was exceptionally clean! Overall I had a really nice time and can't wait to go again!

As far as bowling goes, I've bowled here a few times in a variety of capacities (with groups and couples) and always have a blast. It's an updated, old-school alley without all the bells and whistles of newer high-tech bowling alleys.
Food and drinks are served laneside. Leagues and parties can be accomodated any hour of the day. It's good, clean fun, as far as I'm concerned.
I recently learned AMF on Sawmill offers all you can bowl from 9 PM till midnight on Sunday nights for $10 - what a great deal! -

I am not a league bowler, but I bowl now and then for fun. My children also like bowling, which is why my older son chose to have his birthday party at AMF Sawmill. We had a smaller group, so they suggested a Pizza Bowl, which is great. Two days before the party when I called to confirm, the young fellow said there was no way we could have the party there since there were two corporate events that night. I explained that this was something I had already arranged and he said he saw no record and unless I wanted to have the party at 9:30 (for an 8-year-old) I was out of luck. Needless to say, I was pissed.
I called the next morning in hopes of talking to the nicer woman who told me about the pizza bowl in the first place. I didn't get her, I got the daughter of satan, who couldn't have been more rude or obnoxious.
I would not recommend this place simply on principle. The staff is rude and they don't care about the customers at all. -

Didn't think that a bowling alley would stick out in my mind so much but a few weeks ago a group of friends went bowling here and I must say so far it's been my favorite place to bowl. The main thing that made this a 4 star bowling alley is the balls. This place has great balls. Not only is it easy to find the poundage you want but they are also labled with the size of the holes. So if you have fat fingers get a ball with bigger holes.
We went on a weekend and didn't have to wait to get a lane which is always a plus and we stayed fairly late and it never got sketchy which I think any bowling alley in any city can get real sketchy for some reason.
What more can you ask for in a bowling alley; plenty of lanes, tons of balls, scoring systems that work well & pins. Oh yeah and a full bar to keep me thinking that I am amazing at bowling when I hit 100.
If you are wanting a bowling alley I highly recommend Sawmill Lanes. -

Nice bowling alley with new equipment. Only two stars because the staff is absolutely terrible. Completely unorganized and incompetent. It's too bad Fiesta Lanes on Lane Avenue closed.
