Gets 4 stars bc I played with a coupla buddies where last place plays for that round. I wasn't the loser in all 3 games! =)))

WTF, right?  I come out to NC and suddenly I'm all into bowling... there's nothing else to do in NC. It's that or cheer for the Bobcats or feign an interest in NASCAR.  Bowling it is.

Another thing, I checked out my Blackberry and a third of the songs on it are country now. I've gone Southern!

5 bucks for shoes. 6 dollars a game. Just so people know how much it costs...

    dmo out.

What can I say, it's a bowling alley. This place is kind of hidden and it took me 3 years of living within half a mile of PVL before I even realised it was there.

On the bright side this place is not so busy that you have to wait for lanes, plus they serve beer. You might consider that "normal" for a bowling alley, but I've been to plenty that don't. Pitchers are great, you never have to wait for someone to come back from getting a round to take their turn at the lanes.

The prices are pretty standard. There are definitely more expensive options in the area. It's clean, and if you opt for food, they will bring it out to your lane rather than making you carry it yourself. So props for that.

The bathrooms are nothing to brag about, but again.. it's a bowling alley.

Bowling with groups at Pleasant Valley has been a blast both times!  Last March and this past November I got a good sized group together and bowled for a few hours.  In March we had trouble getting them to hold lanes for us, but in November they agreed as long as we got there before Xtreme Bowling began.

Regular rates are a little steep which is why you should wait to make it a late night jam.  Bowling from 9pm - 2am is "Xtreme Bowling."  $20 per person includes 3 hours of bowling and shoe rental.  We bowled from 9 - 12 and there was a good sized crowd at the lanes besides my groups.

We took turns picking up pitchers of beer.  No wait.  Easy to get the beer and good prices on it.  Plenty of other stuff to pick from like pizza and other typical bar food to get from their bar and kitchen as well.  Staff was easygoing and helpful.

My crew and I will be back to strike some more at Pleasant Valley!

Hmm, to start off with, expensive. Obviously, if I'm going to do a UYE bowling event, I need to do a little field research (not to mention, brush up on my game), and went here today. I had actually gone back around Christmastime and we had a fun time, no doubt, but again, expensive. So, $4.50 for shoes and about $5.50 for a game??  I definitely should have clipped some coupons for this place.

But on to the good stuff--it's clean, up-to-date with electronic scoring and different themes you can select to mix things up. It also has a sanitation score of 100 for the snack bar, which impresses me, especially considering I barely want to touch the food I order when I'm at a bowling alley. You also get a lane server and there's ample space to place your things and eat your food.  Also, there's a great selection of balls, so there's no reason everybody shouldn't find what they need.

The bathrooms seems to need an update, but they were clean. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful, and best of all, we had a great time. I'll be back, but not without a coupon, or going for their $14.99 per person special which includes 2 hours of bowling, pizza, and shoes.

Pleasant Valley is by far my favorite bowling alley in the area. It's very clean, usually has lane availability, has a bar/lounge and even lane service for food. The staff is friendly and helpful, the equipment is in good condition, and the food is actually pretty good (by bowling alley standards, at least).

It is also a great place to go with a group. I recently went to AMF PV on a work outing, and we received prompt service, both food and drinks. The staff made a point of checking with each of our 10 or 12 lanes for drink orders regularly. I was very pleased with the outing and recommended to management that Pleasant Valley be designated as our official work outing destination.

As a bowling lane this was fun, nice interactive system fun, and eh sorta clean ( ok the bathrooms were a bit scary) and I wasn't plagued with random miss clearing or losing frames.

The part that sucked . . . was the 45 minute wait for a single drink. I felt bad for the good bar tender, trying to handle the lines of people wanting pitchers and the ppl at the bar trying to get their drink orders in on top of a glassware shortage. HOWEVER I felt NO sympathy for the other bar tender . . "Jen" . . . who did an excellent job of running around, looking flusterd, and getting nothing accomplished; who "helped" people who just arrived and had no idea what they wanted over the people who have been waiting OVER 30 minutes with money in hand; and who charged people for their drinks BEFORE getting the drinks out say 20+ minutes later (same customers). I would think the managers of a very crowded bowling alley would keep this in mind and hire (at least) 2 efficient bar tenders during peak hours, because seriously what business survives when people want to spend money and can't because they're too backed up?

Once I had my drink in hand, I enjoyed my time there, bowling (aka making a fool of myself) and hanging out with friends. If you go on a Saturday night, get (all) your drinks at the bar before you get your lane, or go w/out drinks.
