The staff is fantastic! They really seem to enjoy what they do. The lanes them self are rather clean. The bar has Stone IPA on tap (need I say more?). The bartender was rather busy, but she wasn't phased, and VERY pleasant.
The bathrooms could use some work... Typical of bowling alley facilities really, haha.
Lots of fun, good people. -

We were going to come here 1/6-a Friday night at around 8-9 pm, after Churchill's down the street.
Here's why the bad rating-
The only thing they would let us do is pay $18 a person for a solid 2 hours!!!
There was no pay for each game!!
I am good for like 2 games max then my shoulder hurts and I have a thumb blister...and if I was to pay $18 for something on my beer sampling vacation, it was going to be on more beer, not trying to force enjoyment to last 2 hours at a bowling alley. I love bowling, but not enough to pay $18.
The young desk clerk was courteous, I guess, but if that's "policy", this place sucks.
Then maybe I'm just used to cheap ass late night Vegas bowling. ;) -
Review from Maria C.
The gang decided to come here after a failed attempt to NC Tavern. We arrived around 1030p for extreme bowling. Surprisingly busy!
We ended up with a lane, which one can hold about ten names ???
The employees who helped us were really funny and seemed to enjoy working there a little too much. I bowl with a light ball and I wasn't able to get a kiddie ball per policy. I was left to bowl with a 9.
So although i totally suck at bowling, we all had a great time. Various music and videos were playing in the background along with the flashing lights.
Not a bad way to spend a couple hours with the gang. -

Went here with my nephews and a few family members. For 5 of us to bowl it would have cost close to $60 and we had to wait about 40 minutes for an open lane. I can understand the wait, but I am not paying $60 to bowl.
We ended up going to Vista and bowling for $23 total (included shoes), and we didn't have to wait. -

Let's face it, San Marcos Boulevard needs a facelift with landscaping and making it more visually interesting. Although San Marcos is making some efforts to improve its commercial corridor, lost among the dated strip malls is a colorful, red, black and white sign - AMF Eagle Bowl, a bowling alley. Are you crazy?!
If not for the sign, you'd totally miss the bowling alley located behind a tall two-story office building. AMF isn't just any bowling alley. Clean carpets. It's up-to-date with all the latest bowling technology. Gone are the clunky centerpiece consoles with keyboards for managing your bowling lane but slim keyboards that look like Wii drum pads. Gone are the CRT-looking monitors above your lane, but that you can choose your scoreboard's theme among various choices from standard to "Prehistoric!" Fred Flintstone, watch out. Fred may not have had any shoes, but sometimes bowling alley shoes are ratty, or over/undersized. I actually got the right sized shoes and they were oxy-cleaned by Billy Mays himself!
Further, finding "your" bowling ball isn't a problem. All the ball sizes are racked accordingly and by color. That's what she said?
Something happens and I'm head over heels. I didn't even have to liquor up for it! Pitchers are standard at $15 each (more or less) and have a center piece within it (filled from the bottom by the bartend with ice) to keep your beer cold. This gives the appearance that you lose about a pint of beer for each pitcher but the pitcher is actually taller that makes up for the difference. Nice.
Standard bowling alley food might be the same, but there's a menu at each lane. Each food item on the menu lists carries a caloric line item! Bowling alleys gone calorie conscious are crazy?! Knowing this info is handy when you really shouldn't be downing that platter of buffalo wings, nachos, mozzarella sticks and egg rolls worth about 1,200 calories. Never mind. I did. Well, I shared it.
Even for a Thursday night, this place was busy with a league night, and it's easy to see that a nice facility attracts a busy crowd. This is not to say that bowling is the centerpiece of culture in San Marcos, but I used to think twice about bowling as a gutter sport. AMF has now made me realize bowling might be a sport right up my alley. -

I'd rather go to a beach and throw rocks at sticks.
The people that frequent it are low class and I can never have a relaxing game. The staff is rude. -

This place is awesome. I love to come here when I am feeling super stressed from school and just bowl a few games and just relax here.
This place has a really fun and super nice staff and nice bowling lanes. I us to have class here because I took bowling PE here and we would play three games against other teams here. They also have leagues here that I think you might have to join or try out for.
they have a nice lanes that they just redid and added these crazy lights down for when they do midnight bowling or extreme bowling or whatever the eff you want to call it.
They have an awesome place here and you should totally come and check this place out as for I will be here most of the time.

AMF Eagle Bowl is the most high tech bowling alley I have ever been to! They have renovated the computer scoring system and have installed flat screens. Not only that - you get to pick a theme for your score board display!!! This definitely enhanced the overall experience.
Also, they have coupons in the San Diego Entertainment Book and other great sources. After I left they even gave me a buy one get one coupon for next time. -

Went here last Sunday around 11am and it wasn't crowded at all. They offer a family fun pack which included 2 hours of play for all and shoes for $8 a person, and two large popcorn. My stepson can't eat anything with dairy or soy, and some may not know this but packaged popcorn usually contains one of the two or both. The staff was great when I expressed my concern, they called the manager over to talk to me and he was super nice. He went to the storage room to get a package of the popcorn so we could check the ingredients. Awesome! Neither of those two ingredients were listed so we were good to go! All I have to say is customer service, customer service...this is HUGE with me. We all had fun bowling and eating popcorn. 2 thumbs up!

Went here on Memorial Day weekend, and was expecting a big crowd and long wait, but there were 20 lanes open! The best way to bowl for cheap is to join the AMF email club and bring in those coupons! I receive coupons from their emails about twice a month. Three of us bowled two games for $19 total (shoe rental included). I like how the scoreboards have theme choices now.

$5.50 a game and $4.50 for shoes during the day is seriously overcharge. Sign on to their email club to make it somewhat affordable with their coupons.

My friends and I had a blast at the Extreme bowl. We were the early and the lady said we can purchase our bowling lane @ 6:30 so we can beat the line. When we finally bowled we had drinks and the chick @ the bar suck. She should smile and be more inviting. Pizza was great though!

My company needed a last minute "plan b" when storms messed up our golf plans. Angela Smith totally went the extra mile to accomodate 20 of us & we had a blast!! We will totally plan another group event here again.
