I hired Jim from Ameritune Djs for our wedding and he did a fantastic job! We were pretty specific in the songs we wanted played and he stuck to our list. I was pretty nervous waiting until the week of the wedding to talk to the DJ to go over the details but it worked out great! We were on the phone for close to an hour and he wanted to go over all of the details. After that phone conversation, I was very confident that Jim was going to do a great job, and he did just that! Jim was also in charge of playing our DVD slideshow and I trusted him completely with taking care of this and it worked just fine!

A friend of mine got married this weekend and hired Ameritune. The DJ, Beth Mitchell played some great music during dinner, it was a nice mix. She said that she takes requests but when we asked her to play some old school or some Stevie B, she had no idea what we were talking about. Really? You're a DJ and you don't know who Stevie B is? We made the best of it and danced anyway, but the dance floor was not full at all. Several times during the evening, she had to cut a song short and change it up because NO ONE was dancing. Also, the bride took off her veil and left it at our table. The DJ came up to me and asked me if she could "look" at the veil as she had to make one for her niece's wedding. Instead of looking at the veil, she took it and stashed it behind her table! If she wanted to hold onto the veil for the bride for some reason, she should have just said so. What did she think we were going to do with our friend's veil???? Long story short, we (the bride and I) thought it was really weird and unnecessary.

The other half of our business is Videography. We offer edited and unedited packages to suit every budget. Our Big Screen Presentation (think photo montage) offers a fun suprise that makes your party more exciting and memorable.
History
Established in 1983
Est 1983 BCD (Before compact disc) Thats right, we started off playing records. In those days, Bands were mostly playing weddings and DJs were the new thing. We were one of the earlier companies to start playing weddings and parties. We grew quickly, adding DJs as fast as could. That's when we learned that bigger is not always better. We've settled into a nice, manageable size that lets us offer many different entertainers without sacrificing quality. In 1987, we started our Video service. It's amazing how technology has changed, and video is now a million percent better than it was in the early days. Todays low light, HD cameras would have seemed like magic, then. And computer editing was only for TV shows. We're excited to see whats next!
Meet the Business Owner: Al M.
Al started the company in 1983. At the time, he was a full time music student, making his living as a piano tuner, playing in a band, and teaching Trumpet lessons. One of his tuning clients happened to be a writer for a wedding magazine. When she suggested that he incorporate his musical talents and become a DJ, Al laughed, and said "DJ- At a wedding? Thats weird!" She said "Oh no, its big on the East Coast, and it's gonna be big here, too". Well, she was right.
Ameritune was born shortly after, and we haven't looked back. Now there are a million other DJs out there, but not many who have our kind of experience...
26 years later, Al still runs the business, with Beth, his wife. They are full time and they have 5 other DJs that work at Ameritune. There's a good chance that you've seen one of them at a wedding, somewhere.
