My friend and I stumbled onto this place because my original plan for lunch stopped serving food for the day.  I am so glad it worked out that way because the food at the cafe here was excellent. Phenomenal, actually! We ordered the clam chowder and pork tacos plate. The chowder- our favorite soup- was unbelievable and came with homemade oyster crackers. Being from Boston, she thought it was comparable to anything there.. i would say it is world class chowder. The pork tacos had this sriracha sour cream that was so tasty I'm still thinking about it a day and a half later. Great farmhouse atmosphere and friendly service. The area is so relaxing, peaceful, and uncrowded. I can not wait to come back!

This is usually the first stop on our Wine Trail Loop (the "Parker Loop") and it is always a great place to start.  I think Jon B. did a great job of describing the atmosphere: very laid back and fun, the Sweet Rosie with the fudge is definitely a must.

They have an optional blueberry wine tasting (an additional $2) is very interesting.  I didn't know that blueberry wine was an option.

I have never been to the Bistro on site, but I've heard it is very good.  Also with some nice outdoor seating, this should be  a place to consider if you need to squeeze in a meal along the wine trail.

Americana has the occasional live music concert in the evenings, which given the atmosphere should be a lot of fun.

If you are not driving, get a wine slushie to-go before you leave.  They usually have two flavors, are delicious and refreshing.  Next stop, Lucas Vineyards

Out of all the vineyards we had visited during the trip, we liked this one the best. They have a nice wine bar in a casual/laid-back/rustic atmosphere. Our wine tender  was friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic  about the wine. (I wish I could remember her name, she also makes home made fudge).   It was $3.00 bucks a person  for 8 wine tastings, not bad at all. I enjoyed almost all the wines that I tasted (I only disliked one wine). We bought a bunch of bottles to take home with us. We also purchased a container of homemade; Mexican Chocolate Fudge (has the sweetness of fudge with a nice kick to it, I like to chill the fudge in my fridge). We also had lunch at there 'Crystal Lake Cafe' located next door. You should add this winery to your vineyard hopping tour!

Americana is not known for having exceptional wines, but it is known for being a GREAT place to stop on a wine tour! The tasting room staff members are really fun and don't try to make their wines into something that they are not. It's not uncommon to have a recommended food/wine pairing to be "Monday Night Football" or "Greasy Pizza."

One wine that I do want to call attention to is Sweet Roise. This wine regularly sells out, but if you get to try it in the tasting room, be sure to indulge in the complimentary fudge... delicious! I always buy fudge when I visit, and it comes in many, many flavors.

There are slick wineries (and it doesn't matter if you're in the Finger Lakes, Virginia, or California), and then there are the rustic ones.  Americana is a rustic one.   Sometimes you want beer and pizza, and other times you want wine and shrimp cocktails.  The wine here is very good and the prices are right.

The (new?) cafe at the Americana Vineyards serves one of the best brunches I have ever had! The place is cute and cosy, the staff is almost unbelievably - yet genuinely - friendly, and the food is superb! The chef seems a big fan of hollandaise sauce, and serves it drizzled atop a variety of fancy egg recipes, as well as asparagus and potatoes and other seasonal specials. The menu also featured a mouth-watering fresh strawberry-and-mango stuffed crepe with lime curd and raspberry coulis, which I hastily ordered. HEAVENLY! I was a bit worried about the coulis, as every local eatery in the area seems to rely on it as a thick, sickly sweet topping to mask otherwise bland dishes, but this one was light and unobtrusive. The flavor combination provided a perfect fruit explosion, and I washed it down with even more fruity goodness - a crazy creative non-alcoholic cocktail featuring prickly pear juice, pomegranate and lemon and lime soda. Yum! This was all served with a side of seasoned new potato home fries and fantastic grilled foccacia toast. Not to mention the complimentary mini lemon and cranberry scones that arrived at our table as soon as we sat down. My dining partner, an Englishman, was delighted to find PG Tips tea on the menu, and ordered a very English battered cod. The prices were pretty reasonable too, with our bill coming in less than $20. And afterwards, we wandered over to the wine tasting/farm shop barn and sampled some fantastic fudge. Yum! I definitely plan to take visitors here, and would recommend it to anyone.

The tasting room was like any other, busy and knowleable. Wine was ok. We did end up getting some fudge with our 'strawberry' wine. The cafe was great. Good, attentive service. We got the corn fritters, lamb burger, and pulled pork sandwich. The pulled pork had all the smoky taste without the saucey mess.
