I love the concept of this campus. There are restaurants, walking paths, a parking garage, and more. The Durham Bulls play next door so the parking lot can be slow going on a game night. Other than that, the campus is beautiful and I would love to work at this location. The feel of the building is something we just don't get with the standard office cubicles with three walls and no window. There are benches outdoors encouraging you to come out for fresh air and sunshine (remember that?). I enjoy every trip to the campus. Today's visit was for a a special event held in Bay 7. It was a nice, open space for special occasions (great for wedding receptions).

We walked through this area on the way to Tyler's on the opposite end and I am very impressed at the architecture & attention to detail in the landscape designs as well as the water sounds. An amazing historical renovation of old tobacco warehouses into retail & business spaces creates an interesting, dramatic place in which to gather or work. The perfect area to meet before the Bull's game, we expecially enjoyed walking along the spectacular water way, where the sounds & force are from rapids to calm further down near the restaurants. The recycled idea of concrete is very attractive and perfect for this water structure which winds throughout alongside the buildings. A definite must see and perfect retreat for walking, reading or sharing with friends. 5 Stars to this restored outdoor setting, need some more restaurants, boutiques, an unchain coffee house.

Great restaurants. I work in this area, so I'm here every day during the week. The scenery is beautiful and sometimes during the day, I enjoy taking walks through American Underground or just sitting or walking out by the courtyard. The landscaping is always well kept and pleasing to the eye. My favorite place to eat is Cuban Revolution. Their rice bowls (with yellow rice) are truly amazing. And their cuban bread is truly up to par! Great place to eat, even though I'm not too fond of ethnic foods.

Love the free music concerts on the law in the summer. What a perfect place to relax on Friday or Sunday evenings, side on the grass for a picnic or bring your favorite camp chair and relax on the sidelines. Perfect lazy evening porch sitting. Plenty of parking at the garage next door and lots of little food and restaurant choices in the surrounding. The businesses open up their offices for public bathrooms, the cool flowing water fountains add to the ambiance. They even do film nights.

To have watched this place go from old abandoned run-down warehouses to the beautiful architecture it is today, has been absolutely amazing! Every time we go out there, there's something new, whether it's a new restaurant, a new business, or a dinosaur in the water. Could we please have something like it in Raleigh, and may I be the first to buy a condo there?

I love the transformation that has become the American Tobacco Campus. It's truly a great place to work, and I love that special events are family-friendly. I only wish there were more food options on campus to balance Mellow and Tyler's. (How about Chinese take-out?) I was sad to see Starbucks go. I wouldn't mind having a cafe and/or deli -- someplace you can pick up a quick breakfast sammie; or somewhere to chill over a latte when you need a change of scenery from work; or need a pack of gum b/c you had garlic fries at Tyler's; or something for your sweet tooth. Nothing fancy. Simple, good food for on-the-go peeps like me who love working at the ATC.

This is a pretty cool area. The architecture is amazing and Tyler's is great. The only thing keeping it from five stars is just a general lack of enough restaurants. There are only 3(? maybe 4?) in the area and it just seems like it could use a few more. That is the only thing that would increase the awesomeness to 5 stars

The American Tobacco Campus is a fantastic example of urban redesign. The old tobacco factory buildings have been repurposed as condos, offices, restaurants, and a huge space for special events. In the summer, the Backporch concerts (live bluegrass on the lawn) can't be missed. I love to give out of town visitors a tour of the campus, highlighting durhams past (a Lucky Strike water tower and chimney tower over the area) and it's steady march into an exciting and creative future. it is a great place for children, too - plenty of interaction with shallow water features, a train car and tractor to play on.

The Tobacco Campus, to me, is what Brightleaf Square aspires to be. This mixed-use shopping center has done amazing renovations to Durham's factory buildings in the Tobacco District (this is the area that Southpoint mall is modeled after). Brilliantly located adjacent to the Durham Bulls stadium, it's the perfect place for a pre-game pint or meal at Tyler's. Music on the Lawn events take place spring through fall, and the region hosts other exhibits throughout the year. Pretty soon the new, highly anticipated Durham Arts Center will open within, making this a prime spot in the Triangle for entertainment of every kind (and, I predict, positioning Durham to finally become more of a major player on the scene).

I friggin' love this place. It's one of the reasons I would consider making the move from Raleigh to Durham. Just got back from a Back Porch Music on the Lawn concert and what an amazing night. Several restaurants, a few shops and offices (um, can I have an office here please,??), a water tower that doubles as a stage, and just a lovely place to stroll around. I even came here one early Sunday morning--of course, the place was dead--but it was fun to walk up and down and hang by the waterfall-y thing. A beautiful conversion of the old tobacco buildings. It's quite lovely at night. There's a large parking deck that appears to be free nights and weekends, as well as a parking lot in back. I actually got a little confused as to how to get in once, not seeing the parking deck. If you park on the street, you'll have to cut through one of the buildings. I'm looking forward to seeing what other events they'll have, as well as just catching some dinner and drinks at Tyler's and enjoying the scenery.
