American Steak And Fries

Whenever I take the family the Long Beach Aquarium, I almost always go to Kings Fish House but I was intrigued after reading the reviews for American Steak and Fries. The place is tiny. There are 2 tables inside where you can practically touch the person ordering, and 2 tables outside. I have made steak sandwiches at home (thanks to the Bon Appetit youtube channel) and I really like the gooey style of steak sandwich where the melted cheese is kind of holding everything together. The steak sandwich here was ok, but definitely not gooey. And the soda machine was out, so they only had canned drinks and after walking around for 2 hours on a fairly warm day (even if it is January), I was really hoping for more to drink than what a can provides. Oh well. Looks like I'm a dissenting vote on this place, and back to Kings Fish House next time.

Small, intimate location on corner. Service was friendly, quick and courteous. I had a steak sandwich combo which was nicely priced at $8.95

My sandwich was really good along with the fries. I like that they put seasoning on them. My taste buds were a bit messed up because I am getting over the flu, but I enjoyed all of my food. Will definitely go back again.

Yummy! Great quality food! First place we ate at when we moved to Long Beach and we're still enjoying this place! Great service! Cute spot! Perfect for lunch and dinner! I get the steak with everything on it and well done fries!
The Buffalo chicken sandwich is yummy too! Baked potato, chili cheese fries are awesome too!

Very quick I was able to get my cheese steak within 10 minutes, gentle who helped me was nice and friendly. I got the supreme steak extra meat with no tomatoes and no mushrooms combo with fries and a lemonade for $13

I love supporting small businesses in Long Beach. This one especially because they are priced right, they have friendly service and the food is delicious. I've had every turkey and chicken item on the menu (sorry, i don't eat beef) and it is all yummy.

This is same place from Montebello Mall California Steak and fries! I can't be believe we found it! I was looking for a good substitute for the original one I fell in love with at the mall location and I came across this place on yelp and it looked spot on!
We talked to the cashier and she told us how they had to move.

This tiny place is packed with amazing customer service and delicious grilled sandwiches. I always customize mine - STEAK , provolone cheese Onions,Peppers , and Mayo. It's always consistently delicious. The home made fries are perfect. This is a must if your in town!!! The lady in the front is always so nice. Great Food , Great People.

Good steak sandwich but I thought there would be provolone cheese on it. Somewhat of a language barrier when ordering. The watermelon drink is delicious. I'll try it again

Got the two chicken pita and there homemade fries split it between my sis and i! Food was really good definitely seemed like a home cooked meal! Cute little spot family owned, very sweet owners, very hospitable!
Food wasn't to filling to where I feel like I can't function after but was just rite!

Very small place, but the steak sandwich, fries and drink for $8.95 is a consistently tasty bargain meal served up by friendly people. My only complaint would be that I sometimes get a craving for their steak sandwich on Sunday when they aren't open :-(
