We just love American River Montessori! Our daughter attends the preschool program and really enjoys it. The teachers are genuinely invested in the overall well being of each child and provide excellent materials for the kids to explore. The school is very serene and makes for an ideal learning environment. They have great extra activities like Music Together, Yoga, and Spanish.
Specialties
Montessori Preschool, Pre-K, and Kindergarten provided in classes with a student-to-teacher ratio of 7:1 or less. Includes Garden of Learning, Music Together program and yoga. Optional Spanish classes weekly. Morning, early afternoon, and dual sessions available. Newly-built environment with large outdoor play area located in the Folsom Historic District. Language arts and math tutoring for students through 6th Grade offered afternoons and Saturdays. Summer academic camps for Pre-K through 8th Grade. History
Established in 2008
American River Montessori opened on June 1, 2008. This Montessori Preschool and Kindergarten is in a newly-built environment with a large outdoor setting located in Historic Old Town Folsom.
Meet the Business Owner: Deborah D.
Deborah Doss is the Director/Owner of American River Montessori and is the Lead Teacher at the school. Debbie graduated from C.S.U. Sacramento in 1983 with a degree in Communications. After 25 years of experience and two successful businesses in the legal and Internet/IT consulting industries, Debbie opened American River Montessori in 2008. Debbie is a credentialled American Montessori Society early childhood educator with a master teacher permit with an emphasis on music from the State of California. Debbie has certificates as a YogaFit teacher and as a Music Together instructor.
