I didn't know Amarillo was famous for Quarter Horses till this last visit! This museum features many hands-on and interactive exhibits, video presentations, artifacts, and live demonstrations on the history and significance of this unique American breed. It takes about an hour and a half to see all of it.  There is a nice gift shop there with all horse-related items.  If you gotta be in Amarillo, you might as well see the sights, and this is one of them.
