I am surprised at all the negativity and will preface my review by stating I did not receive any hair removal services. I was interested in one thing and one thing only and that was botox (notice how i did not capitalize this as to not bring attention to it). So, the cat's out of the bag, I do it, I love it and I love to find someone who does it well. It's a dicey procedure in the wrong hands and if anyone out there has ever had someone do a bad job, you know that you can look pretty horrific for a good 4 weeks.
This was not the case at the American Laser in DC. My consultation and assessment were performed by an MD and she was very friendly. In fact she complimented my skin the entire way through and I was instantly impressed that she wasn't trying to upsell me more expensive procedures. However, I did walk in knowing exactly what I needed and wanted so maybe she knew I would be a hard sell. After meeting with her, Sophie was the RN who actually did the injections. She was fast, precise and took my advice about where I've had it in the past and how it looked best. It came out pretty much flawless.
I've had this procedure done by MD's, RN'S and NP's. What matters most is not the title of the person injecting, it's how many times the person doing it has done it. My understanding is that Sophie has been doing it for years. While the actual facility could use a face lift, I could care less, it took 15 minutes tops and was the best price I've ever paid. The front desk staff was friendly and squeezed me in at the last minute. No complaints about my experience at all.

Okay, so truth be told I was initially stoked to hear I won $1500 towards treatment at any American Laser Skincare Center through a drawing at a local festival. Something told me to search the BBB and Yelp before booking my first appointment. My goodness, this was a bummer! I hit the mother lode of discontented customers. I opted not for the branch closest to me but to go for my free consultation at an office with a little better Yelp rating and some positive feedback. Also, the lady from HDQ who called and emailed me in regards to my prize was very positive and reassured that I'd have a good experience. She asked to hear how the visit went post-consultation. Well here it goes...
I actually was still happy and kept an open mind despite it all as I parked on the street in front of the Daly City building. That all changed walking in the front door. I was met by the office manager who looked shocked by my presence and visibly concerned that I should be there while she was talking with two women at her desk. I guess coming a few minutes early is not preferred.
There were flies buzzing all around the reception area. Treatment rooms were visible from the waiting area and I have to be honest, the two I saw looked outdated and sketchy.
During my consultation I was told that I could only utilize my $1500 award towards an 8-visit package and here's the best part:
All packages with the exception of a microdermabrasion facial or laser hair removal for my face were $3000!! HA!
So, no options to use my "gift" for one or two treatments (only 8 treatment packages) and I would have to throw down serious coin? What a joke!
A) I didn't go in there for laser hair removal especially not on my face.
B) I didn't go in there for any type of facial.
So, in the end the award was just a scam marketing sales pitch. No real gift. A waste of time. It's a shame. At least I was fortunate enough to have Yelp and BBB reviews and didn't throw down any of my own money. Let them keep their $1500. Pigs would fly before I give them $1500 of my own.
Oh, and did I ever hear back from the nice lady at ALC HDQ after emailing her the feedback on my visit? Big shocker: no. -

I didnt even bother to respond to this business when they called both my sister and i and left us voicemails telling us we had both "won" 300 dollars to go here.
At first we were excited since when do you ever win these sort of things? (we filled out fliers at Shecky's event)
Seeing the below post, I suspect that this is their business tactic to get people to try the services. Do they really think anyone is going to just be like "alright il throw down $500 for a trial." Me thinks not.
This is a poor business tactic and gives insight about their attitude towards their [potential] customers.

Despite the reviews I have read, I really like American Laser Centers. I had a horrible experience with another company and needless to say, the treatment did not work, I lost some money because I paid upfront and now the company is buh-bye!
So I decided to try American Laser Centers. I asked them how much for the exact same package and it was 3x more the amount I paid the first time! I was appalled. I was ready to walk out when the lady asked me, "What can we do to help?" I said, "Charge me the same price I paid before." I was not willing to pay anymore than I did for treatment that I didn't know would or wouldn't work. She stepped out of the room, made a call, came back and said "Ok!"
I started my first treatment that same day and it was painless with the state of the art equipment they use. A MUCH BETTER EXPERIENCE THAN THE OTHER PLACE! The nurse was awesome and made me feel at ease.
American Laser Hair gives 6 treatments per body with up to 2 years of FREE treatment for those stubborn areas that need a few more treatments. After the 2 years, it is only $50 for each treatment! THIS IS AWESOME. The other place I went to did only 5 treatments and didn't offer any guarantees.
My only reason for 4 stars not 5 is because I just started and want to see if the treatments are successful with the top of the line equipment! -

Pros: The technology is very advanced- no numbing cream required. you just go in and they zap you! great for those on the run! staff are curteous, nurses that i've had can be hilarious- told me stories about hairy ppl. Parking is easy, scheduling easy if you book in advance.
Cons: the staff there pressure you to buy packages, like 2-for-1 or 40% off, etc. very business-like. be able to tell them no if you dont like the plan. they come out with new offers every month. Also, this place is REALLY expensive, but that's cuz of their 2-year guarantee (which might be worth it if your hair's hard to get rid of) -

American Laser Center of Daly City is a fabulous place to get all of your "work" done. The staff, Tia and Nanette were very polite, courteous, and simply made me feel at home. I felt like I've known them all my life. I was very comfortable. Usually, the kind of work they do to you would make you feel a little uneasy, but with the people here in Daly City, they make you feel like it's a natural thing.
My treatments were very effective. I especially like that the staff lets you know how it will feel before they start and they were pretty accurate. -

I am absolutely baffled as to how anyone has anything positive to say. This company is totally fraudulent. I've been receiving treatments for one year and have seen little to no results and this is surprising as my skin is fair and I have coarse hair (the ideal case for successful hair removal). Please save your money and go to dermatologist or another known professional. These are not professionals but rather scam artists who knowingly perform ineffective medical treatments.

I wen't to use a coupon I "won". $300 dollars off any services. So I show up, wanted to try it out, but I can't use the coupon for a one time session, only on a 6 + treatment plan, the lowest cost would be $800.

ALC is the best. Easy parking, easy to get an appointment, and great staff. I especially love Kim who makes me feel comfortable at all my sessions and came up with a treatment plan that I really felt was tailored to me. When you go to these specialty laser/dermatology centers you always expect them to give you a great deal on the treatment and then kill you on the accessories/extras prices. This is not the case. Often, Kim recommends a low cost regimen (sometimes even things I just go buy at Walgreens!) just because she thinks it will work for me, not just because she gets a commission. She is very approachable, kind, and I would recommend that anyone visit ALC in Daly City. 2 thumbs up!

This place is great, they return phone calls (I had an issue with other centers on that one). I like that they take their time to get the results you want out of the hair removal process. Staff is friendly and very accomodating. 5 stars

This place is awesome. The people are helpful, caring, and very efficient. I am so glad that I have discovered this place, in which that these individuals really wants to work with me to help me achieve exactly what I am looking for. American Laser provides great service and reasonable prices. I feel very welcome and comfortable during every visit. This place is a must go if you are looking to look beautiful! People have had some seriously scary reviews of American Laser Centers, but I've actually had a great experience at the ALC in Daly City. All of the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating and really took their time with me. I felt comfortable going there and although I could tell that they wanted me to purchase more packages (why wouldn't they - that's how they make money!) they were never pushy or overbearing. I would and did recommend this clinic to my friends - if you decide to go, it seems like this location is a good choice. I'm only giving 4 stars because of the fact that my appointment was accidentally not entered into their system the day I showed up, but they were very friendly and took me right away anyway. I have only been once, I'll update you after my treatments have been completed!

Despite all this negative buzz about American Laser Centers - I found no problems with their customer service. Everybody were pleasant and professional. They are very informative and not trying to push services or products. I have not seen any results after one session (not that I was expecting the miracle to happen), but am appeased by their 2 year warranty (it is promised that any hair that would appear after you are done with your 6-session package would be removed FREE of charge for 2 full years!). Plenty of parking, nice quite location.

I saw this place on the Doctor's Website and got a coupon for a free Velshape treatment got an appointment within 3 days went in for my free consultation and to start off the girl Ruth I was supposed to meet with was 10 mintues late to work she told me she was going to eat her Mc donalds first before she talked to me. So I waited then she saw me I told her I wanted to get my stomach done and she went on about the procedure and said it would be great for my area I wanted to get my Legs I told her No I wanted to get my stomach done she was like ohh yeah sorry thought you were another lady. She asked to see my problem area I lifted up my shirt and someone knocked on the door and opened it Ruth walked outside without even saying excuse me and left me in the consult room for 15 minutes. She came back in and said now where were we? Oh yes what area did you want to get? I told her again for the 3rd time my stomach she said oh yes that is a great area you are a perfect canidate for the procedure it is $2,100.00 I can book you for your first visit today and then book your next 5 visits. I was so turned off by this place Ruth didn't listen to me or answer any of my questions. Even though I was getting a free Velashape because she was so RUDE I would not recommend this place at all.
