Review from Amy O.
LOVED THIS STORE. Going to go back for sure as all the stones were so unique, beautiful. I never knew there were such differences in turquoise. So many different pieces of jewelry organized by the stone with a little background on the stone.

I was not very pleased with the experience I had here. My girlfriend and I came to Calistoga for the weekend and came across this store that I thought would be cool to check out. Right when we walked in we were barely greeted by a woman, the owner, sitting behind the cash register. We looked around for about 5-10 minutes and proceded to make a purchase. While turning to leave the store she asked in a rude and accusing tone if my girlfriend had pocketed a small overpriced bracelet. We were insulted to say the least, because both being part Native American we feel it's important to support local trading stores. We replied in an astonished but polite manner that we would never do something of the sort. We are one of the reasons why business's like hers are still around. Needless to say, we will never go back.

Specialties
Frommer's guide calls our store "an undiscovered gem". Be sure to visit us while you are in Calistoga. We carry a large variety of Native American made jewelry including turquoise and many other gem stones. We also have a variety of other fine gifts such as handcrafted flutes, Native American artifacts, moccasins and authentic Native American folk art.
History
Established in 1996
In 1996, The American Indian Trading Company opened in Calistoga, California to offer the public a genuine, high quality selection of Native American artifacts and jewelry, utilizing artists from the local area, as well as across the United States.
The original store was located at the end of Lincoln Avenue in Calistoga, in a string of train boxcar shops. In 2002, the store moved to a central location on Lincoln Avenue, the main street in Calistoga's downtown area.
Meet the Business Owner: Nick and Sara S.
We purchased the American Indian Trading Company in December of 2011. We are proud to be part of the Calistoga business community and are looking forward to carrying on the American Indian Trading Company's long-standing tradition of supporting Native American artists.
