The American Education Trust - Middle East Book Club & Palestinian Arts & Crafts Trust offers a wide array of books on the Middle East, as well as beautiful arts and crafts from Palestine -- including pottery, embroidery, and ceramics. The shop also includes fair trade treats like olive oil soap from Bethlehem and olive oil from Jenin. It's a great shop for gifts!

History
Established in 1982
Middleeastbooks.com is an iniative of the American Educational Trust and Washington Report on the Middle East to expand the availability of literature and multimedia about the Middle East and support traditional industries that provide the livelihood of Palestinians.
To provide these books, the American Educational Trust began importing thousands of titles about the Middle East from Europe. Four times a year shipments crossed the Atlantic in sea containers to be sold by the newly-formed AET Book Club. The AET Book club and middleeastbooks.com was formed to meet the recognized need for quality books about the region and U.S. policies there.
In 2005, AET officially added the Palestinian Arts & Crafts Trust (PACT) as a fair trade oriented arm of the book club. The Palestinian Arts & Crafts Trust (PACT) is aims to supply a growing demand for Palestinian products and, in turn, to help sustain traditional industries in Palestine during their ongoing struggles.
