Review from Tu-van L.
This review is for the Pilates classes offered here. While the space is mainly for ballet dance, all sorts of classes were going on in their studios, from flamenco dancing, martial arts, and that Japanese sword fighting.
Took advantage of a recent Groupon deal for a Pilates package, which include a private session, equipment class and two mat classes. from what limited previous Pilates experience I've had, I found the instructors the most attentive and hands on with their instruction, even for mat classes. Jenna was a great instructor who was very friendly and knowledgeable about pointing out proper technique for core strengthening.
If I could afford a more regular regimen I'd consider this place for Pilates. And if I had a little girl who wanted to dance like a pretty ballerina sure I'll take her here for classes. -
Review from J. A.

Nostalgia washed over me recently and I found myself wanting to get back into ballet. Last week I found out over the phone that ADI lets people drop in to observe classes. So, I walked into ADI this evening, overwhelmed with excitement about stopping by for a few minutes to scope out the class I'm interested in.
I was not greeted by either of the two (yes, there were two people sitting at the front desk) staff members sitting there - one female, the other male. They stared at me as if I was a snaggle-toothed homeless person who had just stumbled into the studio. No smile. No welcome. Not even a "How can we help you?" or simple "Hello."
I smiled anyway and told one of them (a girl with short black hair) that I was there to observe the ballet class for adults. She motioned over to the room on the left and I thanked her, but then I suddenly remembered that I should ask if the Fall schedule was available. She informed me that it was online. Her tone was condescending and curt, as if I should have known this already (I checked when I got home. It's not online - only the Summer schedule is).
As I was on my way out to leave after observing the class for ten minutes, I said "Good night" to the same girl at the front desk and she said nothing to me because she was preoccupied with laughing at something on her cell phone. The long-haired male who had been sitting next to her when I walked in chose to give me a wordless, flummoxed expression instead. Really?
Or actually, a better question would be this: why would a non-profit organization even hire people - people who are equipped with as many customer service skills as Chuck Norris' moustache - to even sit at a front desk with perfected deer-in-the-headlights-looks and essentially, turn away potential profits/students?
Thanks to the all-star front desk tag team, I truly got the impression that this is a warm, friendly and welcoming environment that lives up to the community-oriented vibe reflected on their website. I just want to jump right in and spend money here to take classes . . .
NOT.
Talk about worst foot forward. If these are the people who everyone sees when they walk through those double doors, then these are the faces that ADI has deliberately selected to represent itself . . . which tells me that I shouldn't waste my time in seeing what the rest of this organization looks like. -

I am so in love with ADI. I started going to the intro ballet class to brush up on my moves, and let me tell you, my instructor knows her stuff.
First of all the facility is in a really easy to reach location right off the pike. The building itself is immaculate, spotless, and clean. The dressing rooms, and restrooms are impeccable. Its not an intimidating atmosphere at all- Its so relaxing to be there amongst all the beauty that is dance.
Secondly the staff is amazing. The front desk girl knows my name (incredible), and my instructor is extremely patient. She guides each student at their own pace while keeping the rest of the class on their toes (no ballet pun intended).
There is a student discount here, and packages available if you don't want to pay as you go. This was my first choice, and I'm very happy to be a student here. I don't see myself taking lessons anywhere else. ADI is where its at. 5 stars. -

I started taking Pilates classes at American Dance Institute last month (private, equipment, and mat classes) and the staff and instructors are fantastic. The instructors are really attentive to the details - my form and sense of breath have dramatically improved in the short time I've been there. I look forward to every class, they're so much fun and so challenging. If I could afford it, I'd be there every day. I'd highly recommend ADI for anyone interested in learning Pilates and also for intermediate and advanced students looking for a challenging yet non-competitive environment that is also fun!
