I have been going to Warren and Dave since they left their old shop on Hampton. They have opened up a true "guy place", reminiscent of the old time barber shops. Go there enough and they will know you by name. It is that kind of place. The prices are great and the hair cuts are always perfect. Never a long wait, but if you do have to wait, join in on the conversations, read the newspaper or soak in the atmosphere. Highly recommended.

On my friend's tip, I came to American Classic Barbershop for a routine haircut. The hairdresser was friendly, talkative and really receptive to the goofy cut I was looking for.
The cut turned out fantastic, and I got it for an incredible price. The entire crew is friendly and they even have straight razors! I'll definitely be back -

I chose this barber shop because I wanted a straight razor shave and haircut. I arrived too late to get the shave and I was bummed but the haircut was fantastic. I really have to give them five stars. I could see as I waited the attention to detail they gave every customer. I got an excellent haircut and my only gripe is that I don't live in St. Louis. It'll be months before I get back here, too bad because they are on my short list of great barbers.
Thanks again! -

I went to salons for years to avoid the national chains but it was a significant monthly cost I tried to eliminate when I moved to Saint Louis. I was so happy when I found this place because you don't need an appointment, they give you a great haircut, they are very efficient, and it is very affordable.
Definitely designed to be classic barber shop, this is a place for MEN, from the art to the various police patches to the 1950's chairs to the straight razor trim to the stainless steel chair rail.
I waited until I had been here 4 times to write a review to be sure of consitency and have had the exact haircut I walked in for every time. -

This place definitely has the feel of an old-school barbershop. Lots of pinups and cars all over the place. The two dudes I've seen working here are tatted-up rockabilly types, and they do great cuts. I took my nephew here for a buzz which I thought would take two minutes. I was impressed that the guy who did the cut took so much extra time to make sure it was perfectly even all around and the kid looked great when he was done. A friend goes here and he always has great hair; he even got a really nice mohawk from them.

This is a pretty cool place! The guys are tatted up and are in mechanic type uniforms. They each have items up on the walls that represent who they are like Elvis figures, music posters, pictures, etc. One of the coolest things about this place is that they do a straight-edge trim with the haircuts and even do a full straight-edge shave with appointment only. I think the price for a normal haircut is $12 or $13 bucks so its not a bad price at all. I have never been the type to have a specific barber but I am now!

(Updated 02/09/2012) I've had 4 or 5 haircuts here, and have not been dissapointed. The barbers really take their time to get you're haircut right. And it's a good price, too. I look forward to my next one.

i've been there two and a half times so far. i consider one to be a half since i was going back to have them fix the haircut they gave me the day before. i guess this place is ok but it really depends on who you get. tim did a good job.
