This place is called American Bar-B-Que & Catering- and its AMAZING! If you like Carolina style BBQ (heavier on the cider vinegar) you need to give this place a shot. I haven't had a pulled pork sandwich this delicious since I was in North Carolina last summer!

I am so surprised to be first to review American BBQ but it's my pleasure to do so.
First of all let me say that the address to this place is actually Telegraph Road about 1/2 mile off Rte 1. This place is amidst several non descript strip center businesses so you won't see a major store front like some places have.
What's so great about this place?
1. Summer Time BBQ specials outdoors every Friday evening. They grill rope sausages, half chickens and gigantic wings and all you have to do is buy what you want complete with sides and take it home. You can also eat there.
2. Inexpensive daily lunch specials ranging from BBQ items to burgers, soup, home made sides and a ton of beverage choices.
3. Family owned and very friendly here.
4. Super close to FFX Co Parkway South of the parkway and Telegraph. CLose to Ft Belvoir Telegraph and FFX CO Parway Gates.
5. Everything is generous and quite tasty. Eat in or carry out. No frills but simple good food.
This place is a little gem and one of the few places in the area that is NOT a chain. Give them a try. -

This place is great! Just good ole homemade BBQ and other dishes. The side dishes are great... the ribs are great. I must come back and try the sandwiches.
I thought the prices were a bit on the high side, but when I got my food home (you can dine in, but I took mine to go) I completely forgot about the price and thoroughly enjoyed a great meal.
I am so glad I found this place!! I highly recommend it!!
