Of course I'm going to love the AAC, it's where the Mavs play. :)  But I do really enjoy attending the games here because it's surprisingly NOT dirty (even the bathrooms aren't too bad).  The workers (for the most part) are nice, except for this one lady who wouldn't give me my refund.  I stood there waiting for her and she would come back and chit chat with the other workers.  Tthen she'd run past me as if I didn't notice it was her.  Dumbo

But anywho, the food selection is good and they've got a lot of merchadise at the store.  They even have a store that sells discounted stuff!  Awesome!!!

I also witnessed Game 6 last year against The Heat when they were showing the game being played in Miami.  It was a PACKED arena and everyone was so hyped up.  And when that 4th quarter came to a end, you could literally see people crying and screaming for excitement.  Yes, that's the game we WON and became the World Champions!  :)  One of the happiest nights of my life and one of the craziest!  Celebrations going throughout the streets and through the late hours of the night.

And I have seen a Dallas Stars game here as well - my first hockey game that was super fun and even better because they won!

I love American Airlines Center inside and out. I have great memories from going to the sporting events and witnessing two of my most beloved teams.
    Is it clean? Absolutely!
Are there tons of places to eat and places to buy memorabilia? Of course there is!
Do the events keep you entertained and have good views and good sound quality? You bet!
I have seen Metallica here too and the sound was kickass even with no so good seats. Don't judge Metallica tickets are expensive.

The Mavericks games are high energy and have great videos and music to stay entertained when no sport is being played.

The Stars games are my favorite because there is not a bad seat in the house. I love the cold feel of the ice when you are close to the action. The non-stop pace of hockey is best felt at the AAC.

I give it 5 Stars because it is a great mix of a new and clean feel without feeling overly sanitized and soulless (*cough* Cowboys Stadium *cough*). It embodies some of the atmosphere that Lambeau has that you can feel in the air without feeling aged.
If I had to pick a stadium to go to for anything American Airlines wins it. Thanks Mark Cuban!

Here's the thing: most modern day event centers, even the high dollar state of the art ones, have to serve a variety of purposes, and as such are less likely to offer up a genuinely unique experience. Baseball stadiums seem a little less likely to fall into that trap by virtue of the fact that they're encouraged to provide a certain novel take, but with basketball or hockey arenas, fact is it's just harder to reinvent the wheel. Which doesn't mean that those places aren't perfectly cool. It just means that they aren't particularly original. Such is the case with the AAC.

The production centers are definitely state of the art, and if you've been to an NBA game here, the lighting is really something to see - there's great entertainment value during the game to be sure. And worth noting that one thing I thought was pretty great - for the beer nerds - there's both a Texas beer station and, separately, a craft and artisan beer station. You'll get less brew than you will at one of the main stations (where they'll pour you a Bud Light the size of a Buick), but hey, those are the sacrifices we make for tasty hops. If your team wins or you see a great show here, know that there's nothing here to distract from that other than the hassle of going to a game with lots of other folks and the cash it takes to do the same. But if you're looking for unique, just know it's less likely that you'll find it in an arena that serves all events equally.

I love the place!! The stadium is awesome .  I had a great time at the stars game. The dining options are good and the parking is great. You can park all over at different price points. The dessert stations are my favorite. I had a chocolate caramel brownie my stomach had a big smile. Then you have tea with a scoop of honey to wash that down. Perfect!  My tea kept me warm during the game.

Oh yeah, the buffet restaurant was good. It had several meats, cheeses, carving station, veggies, pasta, fruit .

    Really nice venue!

Because I'm not from the DFW area, I've only been here twice, but both times was a fun experience. We've driven up twice for Dallas Stars ice hockey games, which was a lot of fun. Typically I can only catch the Texas Stars at the Cedar Park Center, so it was awesome to see the real deal team play in a much more legit arena.

The concessions and merchandise will cost you, but then again so will they at most any other place.

If you're visiting, try to book a hotel that's on one of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) train lines. They'll get you there fairly quickly and it's cheaper than parking.

Been here plenty o' times for various Mavs games, Stars games and concerts. I've also been to a fair share of other arenas/stadiums/venues and this is right there with the nicest of them. Everything is clean, plenty of food and beverage options (though a bit pricey) and the staff is usuallyyyy friendly.

I like the fact the TRE and DART both have stops here, which makes it very convenient for events. Definitely need to try it out if you live anywhere in the area.

    Love the AAC!!!

Mavs are freaking awesome to watch here... They have such great food and I love the refill cup you can get. It sucks paying as much for a 24 pack of soda to get a single drink somewhere but as long as they have that cup I don't mind it!!

They have so many wonderful places to get food from and one of my favorites is the hot dog place called Big Dawgs that has the Southern BBQ hot dog.. the other hot dogs were really good too...  I can't wait till I get a chance to go back soon... Gotta get my Mavs and grub on!!!

Surely will be posting some more pics of the great food from AAC

    Sincerely,

    I like the AAC.

Is it the best arena to watch professional sports in America?  Maybe not from the point of view of the seats.  Certainly I think there are more innovative looks--Atlanta for one.  But there really isn't a bad seat in the house, unless it's the ones behind the baskets/goals at the very top--and those always seem to be priced fairly (i.e. - cheap).

As a concert venue, I'd argue it's pretty good for an arena type show.  I could be completely wrong, but I don't think it's seating capacity is significantly larger than Nokia/Verizon/Ripley's Believe it or Not Lone Star Theater in Grand Prairie.  And that venue definitely has better sound and better seats.  But you can't put on the same kind of pyrotechnic filled, big screen shows as you can at the AAC.

As for the area outside the seating, it's definitely among the upper tier in stadiums that I've attended.  It's fairly easy to navigate.  The corridors are wide.  The bathrooms downstairs are huge.  Everything is clean.  And there are plenty of options for overpriced food and (severely) overpriced food.  One small downside is the lack of a liquor license that prevents them from selling anything except beer and wine in the main corridors.  If you want something more you have to be on the Platinum level or hit one of the over-crowded club type bars, like the Jack Daniels Club--where the service is slow, the prices are criminal, and you feel like you're in a meat market.

In terms of accessibility, the AAC can be a huge pain.  Traffic can be terrible at the main access points both before and after events.  You'd be smarter to find a way to avoid the main streets.  Do some research ahead of time.  Especially before sporting events when all parking is NOT equal--some lots require coupons purchased ahead of time and you would just waste your time waiting to pull in and get turned away because they don't accept cash.  In my experience, the cheapest cash lot is the one right past House of Blues just a few hundred yards down the road.

The American Airlines center is probably the nicest arena I've ever visited.  The inside looks more like a fancy movie theatre than a basketball arena.  The floors are marble and the selection of food is incredible.  The outside of the arena is happening with WFAA studios in the Victory park area and high class pre-gaming taking place at the W across the street and Victory Tavern adjacent the Victory square.

My childhood friend is now the sous chef at the Platinum club.  I'd be amiss if I didn't give him props.  That floor is incredible.  It's definitely the floor to go to if you want to be seen as someone who is someone in Dallas.  The food (both quantity and quality) at the buffet puts any high class buffet to shame sans a Texas de Brazil style restaurant.  And while that level is uppity, the cost for the buffet is reasonable for a stadium style offering.

The stadium itself is huge for a basketball stadium.  The audio visual system is top-notch.  My only beef is that they put a microphone on the backboard of the hoop.  It sounds like NBA Jam every time a player takes a shot.

To top it off, the DART and the TRE are great commuting options to get to and from the game quickly and cheaply.  Well done Dallas.  Now if the Mavs could just win a game!

Truth be told, I have seen so many concerts here and yet have never seen a game here, which is the purpose for it being built in the first place.

I really like the AAC. It has pretty good seating and for the most part you can see well from anywhere, of course best from the floor though. The acoustics are great, especially for a building meant mainly for sporting events.

The parking is good and plentiful, which a huge bonus for almost any venue. Every time I've gone, my parking spot wasn't blocks away. I don't know how they did it, but maybe it's just a great layout that makes it seems so close. Whatever they did, they definitely did it right.

If seeing a concert in Dallas, since the Gipsy Tea Room is closed, this is my first choice of location.

Been here more times than I can count for Stars games and a couple times for the Mavs. The facility is well kept and clean. Ample access to bathrooms so the lines are never too crazy and a couple years ago they put in these new mirrors that play ads when no one is in front of them but the second you step up to wash your hands, it changes into a mirror- not important but kinda cool.

Beer is expensive, as with all major sporting events, but it has a great selection of food- pizza, burgers, cheese steaks, chicken fingers, BBQ, burritos, etc. You also have access to other restaurants and bars from inside the venue.

Parking can be a pain unless you were smart enough to buy a parking pass with your tickets. Alternative- take the dart! There is a station right in front of the arena and is super convenient (though if you are coming from North Dallas, Richardson, Plano area, make sure you know that you have to switch lines).

Saw a hockey game here, and even though we sat up way in the nosebleeds, we were center ice and the view was awesome.  The Stars played the Senators (and won) on the night that I was there and although it wasn't the best game, it was still entertaining.

I have to say, in coming from the San Francisco Bay Area's sports arenas, things appeared to be normally priced.  No $11 dollar 12oz beers here, no $9 hot dogs...ahhh, it was nice.  AND, parking is actually available super-duper close.  For only $15.

The bathrooms were clean, the floors carpeted and well-maintained.  I would love to see a basketball game here.

Great basketball and hockey stadium.  I wish the area around it would come together a little better or actually faster would be a better term.  It seems like the neighboring tenants have had a little bit of a hard time coming together over the past few years.  The streets down there are somewhat confusing and parking can be a challenge but the stadium itself is impressive.  The area is also filling in and growing into itself as each new building gets completed and filled in with either businesses or residents.

The food is pretty good in the stadium (for stadium food).  The Jack Daniels bar in northeast corner of the stadium is pretty cool and the downstairs overlooks the Mavs practice court.

    Go Mavs!

I was really surprised at how nice the American Airlines Center is... parking was really easy and not terribly expensive (I think we parked in the garage to the south of the Center?). Getting in and out of the place was fairly easy with lots of doors open and people there to scan your tickets/etc.

While of course the food/drinks are very expensive, it's in line with every music/sports venue ever.

I've gotta say that the only thing holding this review back from a 5 star review was when I came here for a concert... We had good seats (only two rows up from GA/floor), but because of how they oriented the stage in the gigantic stadium, we all had to turn our heads really hard to the left to even see it (when we were standing, we all had to pivot to the left, which made space even tighter and lots of feet got stepped on).

I'm not sure that anything could really be done to fix this... so maybe the venue is best for sports or really huge stage shows.

Overall, this venue was surprisingly nice and clean. Easy parking. Lots of walkable bars and food places in the area make for a good time pre or post concert/show/game.

There is not a bad seat in the place, we usually end up on the top top row to save some funds and the Stars games are always a blast.  Food is not terribly overpriced but beer is as steep as any other stadium.  I like that I can find reasonably priced things in the fan shops and they have a lot of give aways.  Following them on facebook is a big help if you are looking for deals.  I got to see Eddie the Eagle get his plaque for the Hall of Fame walk last time and it was AMAZING!  Traffic can be a small problem when you are trying to leave but that is to be expected.

I've been a Stars season ticket holder for a couple seasons now.  I miss the Reunion arena.  Anyone who saw the Stars play there will know what I mean.

Let me start off by saying eat your dinner before you go here.  The food is ridiculously expensive and not the best.  Matter o fact walk down to the remaining restaurants in the west end area and give them your business they need it!  A few bars and restaurants are still at the AAC, but are jam packed before and after a game and dead to the world or closed when a game is not playing.  (for a reason I've seen some go out of business)

Now parking here can be pricey depending on how close you want to be to the building.  The green line has opened!!  I would recommend riding it with the other game watchers.  I have never had any problems riding it so far.  When I had to drive I tended to park in the west end area behind the restaurants like TGIF.  There I only had to pay $3 and could pay with credit card.  Of course I had to walk a while to get to the games.

The building itself is nice, with the three big screens in the front entrance and the news station doing their recording that you can watch through the glass.  Sometimes they record the crowd getting out of a game.  When you get into the place you can walk around the place before you realize you could have simply gone the other direction and been right where you needed to be.  Just pay attention to the signs.

The seats seem to be pretty tight.  I'm a small girl and even my hips seem to get caught.  I do not like the nose bleeds unless I'm in the very back row and can pound on the metal backing when a score is made.  Tee hee  The best seating in the whole place is the mid section where they give you a menu and they will bring your food and drinks to you.

The surround sound in this place is awesome and very loud.  Don't expect to hear someone next to you unless they can talk loud naturally.  But unlike the Reunion arena you can't hear the crowd unless they get really excited which is unfortunate.

Go Stars Go...  This is the 2nd Year I've purchased a game package. This is where you can select the number of games and specific dates you want to attend.  If you can't afford season tickets this is the way to go.  AAC is conviently located and offers a wide variety of vendors if you find you have the munchies.  The burgers and fries are out of this world.  A burger big enuff to share, and reasonably priced.  Pls don't ever go away........................ Parking isn't bad either, $20.00 gets you into a covered secured parking garage, which is great.  You feel safe leaving your vehicle there and walking to the venue.  Can't say that for most downtown spots late at nite.

Jeff G said "The inside looks more like a fancy movie theatre than a basketball arena. "  Yup, you exactly hit the problem I have with the AAC.

Except possibly some high school gyms, this is the worst sports arena I have ever been in.   The bowl is too not sloped enough.   I sat in one of their expensive boxes before and could barely see what was going on.  The same goes for the 2nd tier.

The only way you can see decently is to pay an arm, a leg and another arm.

I'd take Reunion (a truly great basketball stadium) back in a heartbeat.   You could see so much better.  The nosebleed seats in Reunion was better for watching a sporting event than the box seating in the AAC.

I experienced my very 1st NBA game here when the Dallas Mavericks beat the Atlanta Hawks this past weekend!

It's definitely a great facility. The environment is clean, modern and the entire place is buzzing with positive energy.

SEATING: Even though we sat in the nosebleeds, we still had a great view of the entire stadium. The seats itself are cushioned and so comfortable compared to most stadium seats.

FOOD: I enjoyed Pizza sticks with marinara sauce and garlic fries. For stadium food, it was good!

FANS: The fans were friendly but not too crazily fanatic so it made for a fun night!

If I'm in Dallas again I would love an opportunity to see another game here!

I like everything about this place.  The architecture is reminiscent of  some of the old buildings downtown, which I like.  Parking is not too bad.  Which is saying a lot in this category.  Now that the Green Line stops here it's a snap.

The Victory park area with the video screens etc. is pretty cool.  There could be more fan friendly joints surrounding the arena, but time will tell.

Inside is beautiful.  I mean it's like a really nice hotel/office building, and I appreciate the effort.  Something for everybody in this place.  Being that a lot of local "sports fans" are not actually there to watch the game in my opinion, this is probably good for attendance.  Also, I have had nose bleed seats and very expensive seats for concerts, hockey, and basketball.  Each time I have been very happy with the sightlines, comfort, and service in each location.

Now if the Stars could get their act together, and the Mavs could finally get Dirk that ring this year;  everything would be moneybags baby!!!!!

I attended the Ringling Brothers Circus at the AAC.  The AAC or American Airlines Center is a premier sports and entertainment destination. I used to work here in 2005 in guest services so I have had the chance to see the underground inner workings of the facility.  I believe it's a world class event facility with world class employees and vendors that provide the sports or concert fan with great service whether you are in the nosebleed section or in the suites.  Security here is great too - they respond quickly so that people can have a good time and we are not surrounded by thugs (like in some California baseball stadiums but we are not naming names).

Concession food is concession food - your basics:  hot dogs, chicken strips, nachos, sodas, water, beer etc.  Nothing fantastic but NOT cheap either and lines can get long. I bought a tub of popcorn and a bottled water and it cost me $9.25

Bathrooms are always clean and I jsut noticed something now the bathroom mirrors are ads.  Then as soon as you go up to wash your hands it changes to a mirror.  They definitely take advantage in the newest technology for ads and will put ad space everywhere!

The souvenir/gift shop can get cramped but they have a large selection of merchandise for your Mavericks and Stars fans.

They have many other amenities such as the Old No. 7 bar - one of my favorite places.  There was a time when getting a Mavs ticket was cheap like $10.  So I would buy the ticket and hang out at Old No. 7 - Loved it - like a bar/club atmosphere.  Downstairs from old No. 7 you get a view of the practice court.   Where after games you can watch the bench practice.

The suites are amazing and platinum level food choices are great.  They actually have a dessert bar which seems popular with the kids.

Parking is about $10 to $20 and the train makes parking so much easier.   I like the buildup of Victory Plaza around the arena, it feels like a real entertainment complex with an exciting feel - restaurants and bars around the area are ok!

For concerts acoustics are pretty good and views are great from all seat levels.

I go to the AAC alot.  Besides going to cheer on the Dallas Mavericks, I've attended various concerts throughout the years.  I've had seats ringside and near the stage and I've also sat in the nosebleed seats.  I've been all over this place.  Although you can see your event from any of these seats, I do have to say that paying the extra money to sit up close is well worth it.

Like most event arenas, the food and beverages are very overpriced for average items.  They recently started selling slurpees and I noticed they cost $7.  Really?  $7 for a slurpee???  Oh well, what can  you do.  As long as people pay for this stuff, the prices will never change.

The AAC is located right in Victory Park.  I don't know what happened to that place.  All the restaurants and bars seem to be dying off.  They really need to find a way to build this area up on days when the AAC is closed.

Arenas may seem like they are all the same but that is absolutely not the case. Dallas feel blessed that you have a facility as nice as this one! Tampa and Phoenix would give their left arm and a back-up goaltender to play in a building like this.

I have been here dozens of times as a loyal Stars fan and it is always a treat. There is not a bad seat in the house for hockey. That means that if you are craving some action (and a few good fights) don't fear that you don't have a lot of dough because even the less expensive nosebleeds will provide a great view.

The facility is clean, even the bathrooms. It is so easy to get to with the DART dropping you off a half block away (and with even more trains now that the Green Line has opened.) The ushers are always friendly and helpful. So why no fifth star? Easy, most of the food sucks!

Now I see that many of you have singled out the made-to-order nachos and I must agree that those are solid. However, there is little else of interest unless you have the big-bucks Platinum level seats. Otherwise, you can expect overcooked hamburgers, flaccid hot dogs, and popcorn that tastes as if it lay on the floor of the Angelika for a month. Bleh, Bleh, bleh to infinity and beyond.

Some of you may be saying that this assessment is harsh and that I can't expect world-class cuisine at a sporting event (which is not true but I'll concede that it shouldn't be expected). I direct you 30 miles away to the Rangers Ballpark. Its food beats the AAC's like Jamie Benn destroyed Jerome Iginla's face. So, it's not that much to expect something with some flavor and an ounce of moisture.

Of course, you don't have to eat at the AAC. Get off the train in the West End, enjoy some real food and then head over to root on the Stars (or Mavs). You won't be sorry!

One of the best sports/concert arenas around! Sports events are always entertaining and concerts are excellent here.

Plenty of food selections or if you're lucky enough, enjoy the buffet on the platinum level (just make sure your ticket includes the meal, otherwise its $27.50)

Parking is a breeze and only 10-20 bucks. With so many roads, its a quick in and out from the parking lots.

I agree with many of the positive comments, but just let me add:
    1.  The Building is a Dog architecturally.  Oh, how creative ... an airline is the namesake so make it look like an airplane hanger built by a contractor with a red brick fetish.   This building, in the cool, hip Victory/Uptown area, is out of place, out of date, and just a flop of a design.
    2.  Never, ever come to an event hungry.  Food options are terrible inside and the concession stands are run by people who seem to be oblivious that you are missing part of game why they figure out how to make popcorn.  Cuban, you should really fire them all.

I was an AAC virgin until last night. I was given great tickets to the Stars game - so took a semi-tame Canuck expert (Etienne P) with me. He really helped me understand the game and was his usual good company.

The center is cerainly a nice arena. Clean. Of course being  hockey game, the place was cold. Luckily the restrooms were clean and warm, so I could use "getting warm" as an excuse for consuming beer.

They have craft beers  - expensive as hell ($7.50 for about 10-12 OZ) but well served.

    I liked it!

    Oh, the excitement!

I came here with friends to watch the Mavs play for my first ever basketball game.

What a beautiful venue. I liked that I wasn't worried about where I sat or if there'd be any corners that reeked of pee!

Great selection of food and really clear tvs.

We had really great seats, but looking around, I don't feel like there'd really be too bad of a view anywhere.

View is good from everywhere but quite the rake. From the 300 level you are practically looking straight down on the players.

Ridiculous that there are only a few escalators up and they aren't right by the entrances.

Very technologically advanced place, scoreboard and video is incredible.

The arena is not the most organized set up on the inside. The seats seemed as though they would be nice wherever you were sitting.

The area around the arena was very nice and walker friendly.

On Sat, Sept 10,2011 I participated in the American Heart Association Heart Walk. I've participated in several walks before and I enjoyed the flow of the walk because it began at the AA Center. Well organized, safe and the majority of the streets were blocked off. Several companies set up sponsored tent pavilions at a nearby lot, parking was $20, so I tend to park and ride from Market Center Station and pay $4 round trip. Since I was a team captain for the walk, i was lucky enough to get a tour of the Mavericks locker room and touch the winning trophy as well. It was just as I expected, a pimped out locker room.

For a basketball arena, this is as good as it gets. Wherever you sit, the view of the court is absolutely awesome and the facilities are all pretty new. I'm a huge Mavericks fan so every time I come home, I want to go catch a game.

The beer and concession stands are plentiful but there is only 1 place where you want to go to in order to find a variety of alcohol. I forget the name but it always has a long line because everyone knows that they serve quite a range of beers as well as foot long neon-green margaritas.

All in all, this is a most enjoyable place to chill and take in a Mavs game.
