Victor and Irma are the best. they light up every time my roomates go in there. we get treated with such hospitality that we are always trying to invite them over for dinner.
Victor has given 2 of my roomates bottles for they're birthday and my parents were in town and treated us to his famous homemade patron ice-cream.
I love having them in my neighborhood and they love having us.
don't support stores like safeway when possible, support a hard working family business like amels market. -

Been there a few times last year since I used to work at the local high school. Their prices are high for some not-so-quality food when I was trying to buy sandwiches. They also don't have freshly brewed coffee, and I don't even remember if they have bottle refridgerated "Starbucks lattes" either.
I just remember the best thing to buy there seems to be drinks or snacks because they are about the same price as other places.
Although it was clean, it was very small and often crowded. Avoid the 3:15 rush when high school gets out. -

The Tequila selection is superb. This store also has good beer choices.
Victor and Irma S. are a perfect Husband and Wife Team in the ownership of this friendly corner store.
Victor is the brawn and Irma is the whiz kid cook. She makes some good Deviled Eggs.
This store has been here since 1913 different owners of course.
Stay away right after the local high school lets out. Kids in a rush for soda and candy is never pretty.Listed in: CHOW !!!!!

Corner stores are everywhere, but I always go to amels cause it's got a good selection of everything in there. Also they makes sandwiches which I recommend. Best part about it are the owners, Victor and Irma. They are great people and very personable. I love going there and gettin some beer and talking with Victor. Last but not least, don't try and mess with victor, he'll kick your ass, just saying.

Cool Corner Store, Has all the snacks and drinks (and plenty of adult beverages) you can ask for and the addition of made to order sandwiches makes this store complete. Since my office is a couple blocks away, i try to make it here for lunch a few times a week.

Liquor stores are a dime a dozen but what makes the difference is always the store owner. I've always enjoyed dropping into my corner liquor store for a small chat with Victor who fills me in with the daily news in my neighborhood. Liquor store owners are the eyes and ears of the community. They know everything and I've always appreciated the friendly service this store provides.
