Really enjoy going to the place! Has really good food, love the atmosphere! The Lobster ravoli when they have it is to die for! Good size portions, prices are a reasonable.

I've been eating here for many years. I am not sure why I have not reviewed Amedeo's yet...guess I just forgot. This is kind of indicative of my current feelings towards this landmark establishment.
In the old days, this was a happening place. It had some of the best food in the area and was a great date spot. The menu had some interesting items that tickled my fancy. The ambiance was nice enough that dressing up was a requirement for dinner service. Fast forward about 15 years or so and everything is the same. Carpet-Same, Decor-Same, Menu-Same. Honestly, everything feels tired and done to death. The service is fine, there isn't a problem there, happily enough. I just wish that they would shake things up a bit. Offer some new perspective on the menu, paint the walls a more contemporary color. I'm not saying change everything. Some customers need to have stability, but I think they need to evolve in order to stay relevant in the food world. Kingwood is not the most sophisticated place, food wise, but cruising along does not win new customers.Listed in: Humble Eats

I never had a bad meal at this place. I love to go on Jazz Nights too. I am a little bored with the menu after all these years so I usually ask for the special of the evening. I like the pace (they never rush you), the service (young local people that are both attentive and fun), and the bar! When the chef is creative; that is the best!

I've eaten here a couple of times for lunch when I was in the area. The food was well executed, well presented and was simply delicious. To top it off, I found the prices to be reasonable, especially for Italian.
I particularly enjoyed their Chicken Marsala, it was among the best I've been served anywhere - the chicken was nice and moist, very flavorful, and the marsala wine sauce was fantastic (just the right consistency, rich and full of flavor, lightly creamed, with some herbs and mushrooms), while the noodles were cooked al dente as they should be. The salad was fresh and the dressing and croutons were great. I am betting that anything you order here will be correctly prepared and satisfying.
I'd recommend this place to anyone who's in the area and looking for some good Italian food for lunch or dinner. -

I woulda gave it 3 stars, but it is so darn affordable for good service and close to 'fine dining.' If you live in Kingwood and look in the local paper, you can usually get a coupon for buy one, get another free entree deals.....which makes eating here affordable.
Portions are large and enough for a late night snack when you get home from the night out. Bon apetit! -

I've only been for lunch here, but this unassuming little Italian joint off of 494 is really quite a gem.
I've gotten the specials every time I've gone because they sound so damn good. And they have been damn good. The beef was tender and the pasta was perfectly al dente. Lovely. And service was courteous without being too stuffy.
My only complaint about this place is the ambiance. I don't know what it is, but it sort of has the feel of a funeral parlor. Not sure if it's all the old folks milling about or the hushed tone everyone speaks in, but it's not the place to tell your best "Yo Mama" jokes. -

The old chef is back and the food was great tonight. I had the Chicken Capretto and it was excellent. The pork chop was good and as always the Spinach Gnocchi was great. They need the gnocchi as a meal! Raffas has their salads beat. Only bad thing to me is service isnt very good. Host isnt very nice, granted I did get my food to go. I will always return though!

When we first walked in, the girl that sat us didn't look happy in the least to be there (thankfully she wasn't the one waiting on us).
We received our appetizers, they were good but nothing that I would have to have again. We then got our salads..... Let's just say 3 bites later I didn't want another bite! The dressing was tasteless and the salad had a taste similar to dirt. The entrees were served. I ordered the eggplant parmesan. It looked ok, when I took a bite it was salty and soggy. My husband ordered a filet, it was very tough and flavorless. Needless to say we passed on desserts!
The one waitress that looked as though she was going to a funeral. Was waiting on a table by us and was "trying" to smile, well let's just say it looked so fake I thought her face might shatter!!
Over all atmosphere was good. Food not worth the the amount they charge! If you want excellent Italian at a real reasonable price check out ITALIANO'S East of hwy 59 on fm1960. They have the best Italian food I've ever tasted. The wait staff is excellent and always happy.
I will not ever go back to amedeo's!!! -

I visited Amedeo's with a client for lunch. I was eating lite so I had the rigatoni with spinach dish which is one of the items on the lite menu. Included with the pasta was a basic green salad and bread. The pasta bowl provided a very generous portion of food. The restaurant was quiet and great for business conversation.

This is one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to. They have great calamari, plus everything I've had has been exceptional. Service has always been wonderful.
