Culver City, CA
I love this pizza!! It's got very thin crust which I love and they put the right amount of sauce for the thickness. (If it's thin crust I like light sauce, if it's think I like it to drown a little.) The toppings are right and tasty and not canned (does ANYONE like canned mushrooms?) They're small enough to take bites of without getting a pepper hanging down your chin. The pieces of ham are chopped small enough to enjoy but big enough to taste.
The people there are really nice, and I work right up the street. They close at 10pm, which kinda sucks, but I can usually get there right at 10, or they deliver... -

Pizza here was so so
When I ordered it for pick up and got there, it was always burning hot and gave me canker sores
Extremely greasy pepperoni and cheese slices
The grease drips
Good prices, but the quality is not up to par -

Super rude! -

Im sitting here in ameci waiting for a calzone. After 30 minutes I'm still waiting. Since I have run out of things to look at on my phone, the only thing left is to tell the world how slow this place is. Over 30 minutes for a calzone? This place is a joke. Too bad I like their pizza altho its too greasy. The owner is nice but the 2 guys always at the counter are really unpleasant. Never coming back.

Meh, convenient and quick, but soggy, and some of the greasiest pizza I've ever eaten. Proprietor manning the register/counter was abrupt and not very friendly, as others have said here.

This place sucks!
I love pizza and I have never ate such a bad replica of a pizza before like in here! Even the one dollar pizza in Venice boardwalk is better than that!
The crust is so thin and yucky, it was probably made of crackers!!
Everything there is too expensive. I'd rather buy a $3 microwaveable pizza at Vons than pay $11 for a trash pizza made right there. -

This is great pizza! It has a thin crust, light sauce and tasty cheese. I can't comment on the pasta, but the dessert is pretty good too. I love the plain cheese and the Greek pizzas.
I have to add that over the past year I have received several deliveries of cold pizza from Ameci. Plus, the Mediterranean pizza that I ordered last night was the worst pizza I have ever had in my life...Terrible. -
Review from Leslie W.
I used to really like this place, but things always ruin those good feelings.
1. We once went with an African-American friend and the staff was talking about her in Spanish. After we finished, our friend, who lived in Spain for years, went and told them that she didn't appeciate them talking about her, in any language.
2. When we've ordered things from them, they ALWAYS leave something out. (crushed red pepper, pepperoncinis, the extra order of garlic bread-all things that we ordered and PAID for)
3. They once charged us for the dressing for the salad we ordered.
So, I have plenty of reason to not like them.
I do love some of their food, though.
Greek salad is fresh and tasty. Their salad dressing is tangy. (They even had to tame it down!)
The meatballs are flavorful and light, not too heavy.
Pizza ain't too bad. The dough is a little chewier than most places, but their sauce is decent.
We like their pastas, especially the one with chicken and sundried tomatoes.
They advertise good lunch specials. It is located right next to a sketchy looking massage parlor.
Better to eat in, as delivery will ALWAYS mess up your order.
They did, however, cater a big lunch that we had for 250. They brought us pizza and spaghetti. It was all eaten! They delievered it for us and did for a really good price. -

This place is awful.
The food is terrible - cheap, soggy, and will no doubt make you feel like crap for at least a full day.
Service is miserable - they are always abrupt and rude. If, god forbid, you are eating in the restaurant later in the evening, they will do everything they can to rush you out of there.
No redeeming qualities to this place. -
Review from Tamar F.
It's Sunday evening. Laundry's in the dryer, the apartment has been cleaned, and getting myself to cook at this point seems impossible. Like any real New Yorker, the solution is to order a pizza and chill. So I call my go-to delivery place, Ameci. Yes, their pizza isn't as good as Joe's. It's really nothing special, but it's edible.
I call and give them my phone number. It's in the system, naturally. She reads me back my address, and I confirm. Oh, but someone wrote that I live in West Los Angeles (gasp!) Now she has to confirm if she'll make my delivery or not. After waiting on hold for a long two minutes to an irritating beep, she informed me that they were unwilling to deliver tonight. Because two of their drivers called in sick, so they'll only take Santa Monica orders.
I live literally two blocks over the border. Cross Centinela and the street signs look different, the schools are better, and the rents are more expensive. I'm not living in friggin' Guam. And driving to my apartment versus an apartment on Centinela will *maybe* add an extra fifteen seconds. I explained this to her - I've ordered before, there's never been an issue, and I'm just across the border. It's like that Seinfeld episode, where Jerry & Elaine wait to get delivery at rando's homes.
No dice.
Look, I'm fine with delivery boundaries. I know that Pitfire Pizza won't deliver to me since I'm west of the 405. I know that I'm out of delivery range for many, many places and I'm fine with that. But pick some delivery boundaries and stick to it, don't just use me on days that you need more business! I calmly informed the lady that I wouldn't order from them again if they acted this wishy-washy about delivery and she said "okay."
For a place that serves mediocre pizza amongst a sea of mediocre pizza, I'm not willing to do business with people who have attitudes and have to wonder whether they feel like delivering that night.Listed in: That's Amore, Me Thinks Not

This is my go-to pizza place in LA. In New York it would get 2-3 stars, but for what it is out here… Read more »

I go there almost every Fri. night with some friend's and the owner Oriette makes us a very thin crust pizza that we love, we bring our own wine, no corking charge and we have so much fun. I am a big fan of the greek salad with grilled chicken on top. It is not on the Menu but she is always happy to please us. It is very casual and clean. Karin M.

I agree with another Yelper. Even Tombstone's in the freezer section of Albertson's is better than this crap.
Service blows too. -

I think this joint is pretty good...good as it's going to get for Santa Monica. Think about it, there's Domi-no no's, Pizza Gut, and Papa I'm in the John all night. Not much else unless you want to spend the $25-30 for a gourmet pizza (small sized) at Abbots, Joes, or Johnnies. I'm on a budget and a giganti pizza is perfect for feeding the kids and I at Ameci. The guy who answers the phone is very nice and helpful and although the woman can be gruff, she still handles business. It can be a long wait so order with that in mind. I also don't recommend the white knight pie...it's super bland and plain and I typically like plain, so that should tell you it's tasteless. It's basically the ugly, plain, less asked out sister of the other pies. The calzones are pretty good and so is the salad. I don't typically do the sandwiches or pasta, but I have tried them out during the lunch specials. Stick to the pizza which is a average, but tasty option and save your money for more important things.

Definitely surly over the phone. Good thin crust pizza.
Without doubt the most disgusting grated Parmesan cheese I have ever had. It was in a packet stapled to the outside of the pizza box.
I swear that pizza box and cheese had been stored unrefrigerated for months. Shame it was a delivery. -

Santa Monica, CA
Decent pizza, with too much cheese and a medium, chewy crust. Service is abrupt and sometimes grumpy and relatively slow, and prices not great. There are better options but this will fill your belly. We get it to go - ate there once and it's not a particularly nice place to hang out.

I swear they put crack in this pizza. It's not like it's a work of art or anything. It's just basic pizza but after having a few slices at a bowling party I got totally hooked on the stuff. I gotz ta have it!

I didn't really like it. I've been here twice. The first time, they were pretty much jerks at the front counter and acted like I was an idiot for wanting extra toppings. I just went again on a lunch break from my classes and the woman was nicer. The pizza was kinda gross. It was not even hot. I wasn't impressed, but I might come here again if I was desperate for pizza that was close to school.

I actually quite like their food, but depending on who you talk to and when you call, they can be quiet slow and rude. They are next to my work and we eat there about 3 times a week, and will continue to do so, but when you give your business to someone that much you expect better service. I don't know if the owners or staff look at Yelp, but if you guys do - BE NICE!! it really pays. My business has 6 staff members and see hundreds of customers a month. Many ask what food is in the area - easy to recommend you, or easy to warn people to stay away. I hope you will work on being nicer!!

Good sh*t. Pizzas are excellent, decently priced and conveniently located next door to my place. Supposedly they take competitor's coupons, which I have yet to try.
For delivery, this place is hard to beat. -

The portions and hospitality are generous. This isn't fine dining, it's just a casual Italian soul food session. Smile at the lady at the counter, and she'll treat you about as lovingly as your own mother.

Great pizza. I've lived here for over 10 years and Ameci is the best deal and pizza in Los Angeles. The pizza twins deal cant be beat. I do however always pickup because the delivery guy is an ass. He's been there a long time and is one of the rudest people I've encountered in customer service. Other than that all the employees are great.

I ordered a pizza and it was OK. I didn't love the crust but its convenient location to my apartment makes it more appealing. I have ordered the Chicken parm sandwich in the past and I would get that again before another pizza.

Really good cheese and decent dough. Unfortunately the sauce is not so good, destroying the goodwill built by the rest of the pie.

Love the Greek Salad (with or without added chicken), Pasta dishes, and the Cheese pizza. Great family run place. The dining area is nicely decorated, too.
I once left my purse in the restaurant, and the next day I called to find that the Owner had locked it inside her office for safe keeping. Nothing was missing, amazing! I am a customer for life. Thanks :) -

This place is the greatest! They have delicious pasta, salads and pizzas and delicious homemade desserts. The owner really cares about the quality of the food she serves. Everything here is really yummy. The pizza crust is always nice and crispy, the meat sauce.is just right. The homemade carrot cake will excite you!

All I can say is the pizza at this place is extraordinary. I like thin, crispy crust and my friend likes regular crust. We were going to order and pick it up on the way home but they had just remodeled the dining room and it's really nice - so we decided to eat it there. It tasted so delicious - I'm craving it right now- just thinking about it! I had the tomato/basil/mushroom/cheese on thin, whole wheat crust and it was honestly the best pizza I've ever had! My friend had the regular pepperoni - and she loved it (she has it delivered all the time.) They have a great menu with all kinds of pasta dishes too - which I plan to try - if I can ever pull myself away from that amazing pizza. We also had salads - I had the Greek and I highly recommend it. But the best part is....not only is the food delicious - but the price is right. I give this place high ratings for great food and a good value!
