#1 lunch special: 2 slices of pizza and drink.: the pizza is comparable to ny. i liked it.
#9 lunch special: Spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread, salad, and drink: this meal was pretty good. everything was fresh.
Garlic cheese balls appetizer: It's hearty and good appetizer. -
Review from Ed L.
The NY style pizza is good and reasonably priced but slightly bland and not as good as Paisanos or Valentino's(imo). The meatball sub was pretty tasty. The meatballs were meaty, juicy, and flavorful. Someplaces have meatballs that have so much bread crumbs that they are dry.
The service is friendly, and the restaurant is clean. It's more of a take out place as there are only a couple of small tables. -

I was running errands the other day an wanted to grab a quick sandwich. Shockingly! The meatball sandwich suggested by the girl at the counter was amazing. A couple days later and I'm back again.
Ameci has daily specials for lunch that include chips and a drink.
Definitely check this place out! -
Review from Andrew F.
Stopped by for lunch today and got the No. 1 Lunch Special [good until 4pm]. Two large slices of NY Style Cheese Pizza and a Drink for $4.99 - pretty solid option.
Before discovering Ameci, my pizza go-to for lunch around work had always been Valentinos. I'd go to Val's for their two slices of cheese and a drink for less than $5, but pay a little extra to have a slice of their spinach pizza with garlic sauce substituting for a slice of the cheese.
At Ameci, the slices are much bigger than those of Vals, and the drink is bottomless, while Vals gives you only one go.
The dough on the bottom of the pizza is a little soft, while I like mine with more of a crunch and crisp. It's a personal preference deal and I'm sure the guys at Ameci can help me solve that issue my next time in. What really won me over was the cheese. The cheese they use is super stretchy, gooey, and had good gummyness. It was easy to chew and break off. The sauce wasn't too flavorful, but wasn't overpowering either.
What Ameci lacks that Vals does well is providing you condiments. At Ameci, they had packed Parmesan cheese that you had to request and red pepper shakers at the tables. At Vals, there's garlic salt, some spice you can help yourself to, cheese shaker and red pepper shaker at the ready, no need to request. There is also a certain fragrance that Vals pizzas have that Ameci's didn't.
That being said, Ameci had a solid cheese slice. At the end of the day, it'd be a coin toss as to whether I want Ameci or Vals for lunch.
Ameci is pretty small, as I didn't count more than a handful of tables. They had the NFL Network playing on tv, so that was a plus. The guys on staff at the time of my visit were pretty friendly. The two slices of cheese came out pretty quickly and I was in, fed, and out and back in my cubicle within 25 minutes. Pretty fast.
There is a variety of specialty pizzas, pastas, and sandwiches, but I think I'd only be here for the 2 slice special. You can add a topping per slice at 29c per topping - not bad, I'd say.
Parking can be an issue during high tide as the spaces are small and the lot doesn't have that many spaces. I'll be back next week ;D -

The last pizza I ordered from here was both so unbelievably greasy and yet so bland that I'll never order it again. To top it all off, it's overpriced, too. So I'm downgrading this one severely from my last review.

Love this place the customer service here sucks so bad that's why it's missing a star LOL but the food is outstanding. Their spaghetti with meatballs is to die for. Their bread is super soft and hot. All of their food is made when you order it so you'll always receive fresh Italian food here. Love you Ameci!!! LOL

I was taken here for a quick grab-n-go lunch one afternoon.
It's decent Italian food for a decent price. It's more of take out place than a sit down, dine in kind of place.
Walking in, the ordering counter and register is the first thing I saw. Off to the right there are a few tables of two or four for dining. And directly in front of the ordering counter are a few chairs for waiting. Most people come here for take out.
I had a cream based seafood pasta that afternoon and a salad. It's a decent portion, but there was more pasta than seafood. The pasta texture was just right, but the cream is thicker than usual.
The wait staff is friendly and patient. There was nothing memorable about my visit so not a place I'd go to again unless I was looking for quick and convenient. -

One of my 2 favorite pizza places in the South Bay and I'm very picky when it comes to pizza! There sandwiches are also great - I love the eggplant parm.
Employees are very nice. I called in an order and just as he was telling me the total, my phone cut out. He called me back before I could call him back! Great service. -

This is now are go to pizza place. Bread sticks - good, pizza - good, wings - good. The only reason i'm giving it four stars instead of 5 is that the quality of the food tends to fluctuate. But even when the food is not as good as i had received before from Ameci's is still better than some of the other local pizza places

Review from Nathan W.
The pizza joint is one of those omnipresent businesses that at times screws like rabbits all over a neighborhood. I reside in such an orgy. Besides the big corporate 3, there are 6 or 7 pizza joints in walking vicinity of me. Why so much pizza? I hardly see an Italian presence in the community. There is a Chabad, perhaps the town is jagamush amuck. I don't know how to spell that silly word but it's when a Jew pretends he's an Italian guy, so like Michael Rapaport. So for whatever reason North Redondo is crawling with pizza, Ameci's is the best. You can taste real quality in the ingredients & the cheese. I highly recommend the white pizza with ricotta. You know when cheese doesn't separate from a bite, creating a stretched rubber band effect? No, of course you don't, it's not pizza, it's DiGiorno's!

The pizza is pretty good. They use sliced sausage not crumbled which my SO said tasted much better than the crumbled kind.
The Caesar salad was decent but had a lot of croutons so I would probably skip that next time.
They don't have tables because the City of Manhattan Beach made them remove them...something to do with not enough parking...they are trying to resolve this problem.
They have pizza by the slice too and it is a huge piece for less than $3. -

This is our go-to place anytime we have pizza cravings. Their sauce is amazing and the crust is just right---not too thick, not too thin. And I love how fresh basil is available as a topping.
Whether we pick up or have it delivered, they're always fast. When delivered we usually never have to wait for more than 20-25 minutes. When picking up, it's always ready by the time we get there (about 10 minutes). I don't know how they're able to make such great pizzas at this speed but they do.
They have coupons on their site so make sure you print them out before you go:

I'd have to say that five stars just isn't enough! After a fire pretty much destroyed the building, Ameci went out for several months.
When it was cleaned up and open, I was amazed at the difference. Not only is it clean, they've made the place quite up to date, and very appealing.
Besides that, the food is fantastic. My favorites include the spaghetti/rigatoni Marinara, and just the regular mushroom or cheese pizza. Even the simplest of their pizzas are great!
Ameci delivery is super fast too. The pizza is still pretty hot when you get it, but of course I live very close nearby.
All in all, Ameci is great! -

BEST. Pizza. In the South Bay. Period.
I've grown to despise the typical pizza chains, and if I'm actually in the mood for a really good-quality, legit *pizza,* CPK doesn't cut it. They're just too.... out there. Sure it's good-quality, but their appeal lies more in the novelty of their crazy specialty toppings (mango and Thai chicken?! wow!). Ameci is the only pizza place of which I'm aware within delivery distance of where I live that actually uses honest-to-God, stringy, stretchy mozzarella in lovably gooey quantities. And oh-my-God it's so tasty. They're the only place I ever order pizza from now.
I docked them 1 star, however, because they're a tad on the pricey side, and their pasta isn't as good as the pizza. It's still really good, it just isn't *outstanding.*
So the long and the short of it is, if you're looking for a good, classical pizza in the area of Manhattan, Hermosa, or Redondo Beaches, there really isn't anything better than Ameci. -

I ordered out from here last week to take to a park picnic and it was very tasty!
The tomato/basil/mozarella pizza was really really good. They have a nice crust - in between thin and thick. We also had a Caesar salad which was ok.
However, my favorite part of what I ordered was the cheesy bread knots. They were to die for! You dip them in marinara and they taste so good. Next time I might even skip pizza and just get those.
They put together your meal in about 15 minutes and are affordable, I will definitely be back. -

Fantastic for lunch!
Popular with all the guys from work now that I've taken them there. See a lot of the Skechers employees have found this place as well.
Lunch specials are around $7-8 with a drink and is enough food for dinner as well. The calzones are my favorite. They use ricotta and mozzarella.1 Previous Review: Show all »

This is a bait and switch. They have on lne cupons which apprear to be a good deal. If you order one for delivery, they add a "delivery charge". The delivery guy claims he doesn't get it, which I don't believe. My next order will be Valentinos, bnetter pizza and honest pricing.

Ameci's is an easy place to get some standard pizza/pasta, whether picking it up or getting it delivered. The food isn't particularly amazing but it's certainly not bad and it always seems fresh. Things maybe to keep in mind:
1. constant pizza deal: jumbo 3 topping pizza, 13.99
2. their pesto sauce isn't regular pesto, it has some kinda gross cream cheese thing going on, and they don't put enough of it on the pizza to cover the whole thing so if you are really craving a pesto pizza, go someplace else
3. if you want red pepper flakes with your pizza delivery, ask for it when you order b/c they don't just bring it -
Review from David L.
Ameci is the best delivery pizza in North Redondo.
Their pizza is great. Their pasta is good, too. The pizza is made to order quicker than the pasta, so plan on waiting longer for it.
When Ameci first opened, they spent some advertising dollars. I haven't seen anything in the mail from them reminding me to patronize them since. Last time I went there, the owner explained something about not being able to dine in anymore...something about the city. I was able to sit down and eat the first few times I went in. Not sure if that issue has been resolved, as I now only do delivery from them.
What I do know about Ameci is that their pizza is wonderful - 4 and a half stars. The pizza is comparable to Fresh Brothers in Manhattan Beach both in price and quality (in my opinion of course), but Fresh Brother's doesn't deliver to my part of Redondo.
With so many choices for pizza in this town, there should be no reason to choose domino's or pizza hut.
While on the subject of Ameci's competition, Papa John's is a lot cheaper and seems to support the Redondo Beach schools a lot more, so the kids seem to request Papa John's over any other pizza place. Great marketing on their part.
Ameci should do some more advertising, in my opinion, as it isn't always the first choice for delivery in our home. We don't get junk mail from them, door hangers, or see commercials. If we're going to drive out to get a pizza (rare), we'll probably go all the way to Piasano's in Hermosa Beach, just because I know they have indoor seating and great people watching. Paisano's doesn't seem to spend any advertising dollars either, but their word of mouth is off the charts, and their pizza is 5 stars.
As Ameci is the new kid in town, they should reconsider their marketing strategy before they become yet another failed Redondo beach restaurant. -

This is easily one of my favorite places to get pizza in all the South Bay. Nice atmosphere, great neighborhood, and friendly staff. I only eat pizza once in a while so I make sure it's worth it by going somewhere with high quality pizzas.
DEFINITELY WORTH CHECKING OUT! -
Review from Shawn B.
Carlsbad, CA
When I'm back home and I'm craving NY style pizza, this place hits the spot. It is the best NY pizza I have found in the South Bay. Paisano's in Hermosa Beach is second, but they're not as consistent. And Ameci delivers.
That said, I find myself reviewing places in their location context, which I should stop doing. In a way, this place deserves 4 stars since it is the best NY pizza in the South Bay. On the other hand, a place might have the best beef burger in Delhi and it would still blow. So to be absolutely fair, I gotta give this place 3 stars. Like Rachel W. said, this place won't "wow" you. It's not a destination, unless you are a transplanted New Yorker with a serious hankering. But if they'll deliver to your place, or you are nearby, and you want NY style pizza, go here.
OK, one more thing about NY style pizza: There are plenty of mediocre pizza joints in NYC. The best NY style pizza I ever had was in Newark, NJ. -
Review from rae v.
Playa Del Rey, CA
From reading the reviews I had high expectations. However, the food didn't really "wow" me. It was A-OK.
I specifically ordered from this place because I had a long run to do the next morning and I wanted to load up on the carbs. We ordered:
- spaghetti & meatballs
- linguini & clams
- chicken ceasar salad
The portions were a good size, and all three tasted fine and was better than most. I just don't think any of them really stood out as ridiculously delicious. However, something I did like a lot was the price. Very affordable.
Conclusion: If you're looking for affordable pasta for the family - this is the place! Would I order again? Definitely! Would I say this is some of the best pasta I've ever had... probably not. But it's decent. -

Using a http://Restaurant.com coupon, I ordered a bunch of food from them for take-out.
Garlic cheese rolls were excellent. If you like garlic, you'll like these.
Chicken caesar salad - nothing too special here, but they made it just fine.
Garlic chicken specialty pizza - this was actually a bit bland in taste. I was expecting a much more flavorful pizza.
Shrimp Fradiavolo - this pasta was excellent. Lots of big shrimp, excellent sauce.
I give this place a 4 because they have inexpensive prices and good portions. But in terms of being a place to die for, it's just a decent place to eat. Maybe I haven't tried their best pizza or dish yet though. -

My favorite pizza in the south bay. Definitely a "fast food" type of pizza, but its consistent and always comforting. Just the right amount of grease, great sauce and tasty crust.

Review from DAVID T.
Los Angeles, CA
I had a coupon in the Entertainment book for this place, my sister backs this place, so I figured WHY NOT?
I got a pizza with ricotta cheese (I forgot the name of it) and the vodka penne. I was horribly disappointed. The pasta was just noodles, sauce, and a some scattered diced tomotoes (lovely addition...sike). It seemed like I could have easily replicated the dish at my place and disliked it a little less. The pizza was nothing great. I actually ended up giving a fair share of it to my roommate through a process I call "giving it to the dog." I will admit they have a great dough and crust thing going on over there, but that doesn't win this guy over.
Maybe I got some of their less popular items?? I can say that I will not be going back there anytime soon, but if somebody offered me a free slice... I would definitely go for it. Ameci's falls into the category where I'd eat it for free, but would not pay for it. -

Review from Stella M.
Hermosa Beach, CA
Personally I liked the quickness of take-out food at this place. However that may be the only thing I liked, because the food was mediocre. The pasta sauce was runny, the chicken piccata looked strange (so no one tried it), the meatballs weren't too bad. Needless to say I added quite a bit of parmesan cheese, hot sauce and some salt to the entree. If you are looking for quick, inexpensive, mediocre Italian food then you may like it...?

Review from Tracy T.
When I reviewed a bunch of pizza places in Sactown, I raved about the garlic sauce. And what do I find at Ameci's! Garlic sauce! Garlic alfredo sauce to be exact. Only they won't sub it for tomato sauce! You can only get garlic alfredo with their chicken alfredo pizza, and everyone knows chicken does not belong on pizza! Pizza has too many strong flavors to handle chicken. ANYWAYS, the deluxe pizza was really good. Fresh bell peppers and onions. They don't use sausage crumbles. Instead it's sausage slices which I guess is how they really do it in New York. I'll definitely be coming back for their pasta dishes. Especially since they're super good at the take-out.

I was starving for some good pizza so I called Ameci to order a pizza & wings. Bad news is the girl said it would take 40 minutes, good news is it arrived in 30 :)
Ordered a pizza with double shrooms, onions & basil. The pizza was excellent and they do a great job at a medium thickness crust, could've used a touch more sauce but that's how I like it and not a negative on their part. They were very generous with the amount of toppings which is something you don't often get in these days of penny pinching corporate pizza shacks.
The wings were very good with a unique hot sauce that I really liked, a little tomatoey, if that's a word. They were a touch on the overcooked side but that may have been due to cooking a little bit on the way over, the pan was still hot as hell when it arrived.
The delivery guy was extremely friendly & polite and I wouldn't hesitate to order from Ameci's again. In fact, next time I'm in town for business I'll definitely be ordering from them again.Listed in: Pizzzzzza

Margherita, Sausage & Pep and mushrooms; those my friends are excellent pizzas from Ameci's. A buddy of mine flew in to visit and was staying at the Marriott in town. We didn't feel like going out and after a disappointing experience at Fresh Brothers we called Ameci's. We first ordered a pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms and sausage. Wow, it was delicious! The following night we ordered from Ameci's again and had the margherita pizza and it was also delicious. I like that they have large menu with items besides pizza. Subs, pastas, salads, wraps and desserts.

Crust is not too thin or too thick, just Right.
My whole family like the food, so it is a stress free eating on those crazy nights.
