Review from Anthony N.
Playa del Rey, CA
***This AMC features good quality picture and sound (many screens, which means very convenient showtimes); the screens are big enough too; concessions are decent (popcorn can often be quite bad at AMC locations--too salty, sitting around too long; the popcorn here was decent but not great); movie theater prices here are a good deal if you go before noon***
This AMC is located at The Galleria at Tyler, which has its own free parking lot/structure. Parking is easy to find (lots of spaces in either the attached parking lot or structure). -

I recently saw two films at this theater and I must say both of my experiences were quite positive. My wife and I took our eldest son to see Hugo in 3D and we were greeted warmly and that's important to me as a customer. This was during the day, by the way.
Furthermore, the theater was clean and well maintained. Sure, it's not inexpensive, but the prices are about the same everywhere these days unless you're in one of those budget theaters where the screen is torn and the films are already out on DVD.
I am not sure what the teenage factor is like on the weekends but I imagine that could be an issue as it often is. -

8 different times I've had a problem here. They started to movie late in all of these incidents. Other than that, it's a nice theater. Very clean.

Great theater. Stadium seating, and seats recline back a bit too. Great experience. Food prices are horrible though. Defiantly my favorite theater.

One of nicer movie theaters in town. Instead of going to Onatrio Mills to watch a movie on IMAX 3D, we come here now. I love the automatic ticket machines, which helped us make a 3:00 movie when we got to the theater at 2:55.
A little small, but it was well kept and clean. All I really ask for. Plus, it's upstairs from Elephant Bar, Yardhouse with Cheesecake factory and P.F. Changs around the corner. Makes a nice date spot :) -

New Favorite theater in the IE area, I'm kind of a movie snob and this theatre hits the spot. Love the stadium seating, clean theater, great sound/screen, popcorn was perfect flavoring. The only thing you need to bring is a great date!

Great theater, everything is as you would expect... except the IMAX screen.
I can't believe they are even allowed to call it IMAX. When it first opened, i called and asked for the screen size, they could not give me an answer. So, on my next visit, I took a peek during a film to get a glimpse of it, and it was hardly bigger than the screen I had just seen a normal priced movie on. Now, every time I go and see a line full of people waiting in glee to see their IMAX movie, I feel like screaming "YOU'VE BEEN HAD! Just drive the extra 15 minutes to Ontario Mills, where you pay the same price for a legit IMAX screen! GIGANTIC!"
Really, this IMAX screen is a complete joke and you are a fool to see an IMAX movie here. -

This is like the only AMC movie theater thats kinda close to us (we live in Hemet) and we had a gift card so we decided to go. I love this theater. It's very clean and in a great location. Prices are what you would expect for a movie theater nowadays, but once in awhile it's not so bad. Food and drink is ridiculous but we just bring in our own anyways (in my purse!).

Anaheim, CA
It's a beautiful theater. I like the atmosphere. The seats were comfortable and the sound system was excellent . I took my family to watch X-Men: First Class... it was a pretty good movie and we enjoyed the movie.
I would have given it 5 stars but I was disappointed that they didn't give student discounts. It was a good thing I bought "AMC Stubs" to earn points. However, in this economy I can't believe how some theaters would not give student discounts. -

I really like this AMC location, they are not pushy here. Its always clean, and although it's at the mall, its not full of kids like the Regal at the plaza.

Beautiful theatre. Brand Spanking new. I absolutely loved the atmosphere. The seats were comfy and the sound system was excellent for the film.
My only complaints are that the staff inside was generally unattentive (but to be fair I showed up on a night that was generally dead) and the entrance is up a double flight of stairs so for those who watch movies with people with mobility issues have to search around the parking garage for the escalator or the elevator.
overall I had a good experience here... would come again. -

this is my favorite AMC, its always very clean, and its not too big which means not overly crowded on Friday nights. Bathrooms are always clean and the service is decent.

I go here a lot since this is right down the street from my home
This theatre is on the second floor and the stadiums are amazingly spacious, none of that claustrophobic feeling business. Overpriced snacks is expected and their employees always seems to look like they hate their job, but what I hate most is the obnoxious crowd of teeny boppers that talk excessively through out the movie and I have to be the panties-up-in-a-bunch chick telling them to shut up so I could enjoy the movie...
Tip: if you wanna add commentary to all your movies, maybe you and your buddies should wait until the movie comes out on dvd and you guys can stay home and watch it...
or maybe those who don't wanna risk walking into a movie with a bunch of loud mouths should wait and stay home?
I'm going with the latter next time I think about AMC and a possibly teen attracting movie. -

Nice little theatre.
LITTLE.
Tiny...
but the people that work there are nice, but we did walk up buy our tickets and walk right in. The workers could stand to be a little more attentive. If they don't this is going to be the new place to go watch free movies.
(not that I am advocating stealing or whatever)
We went to watch the Back to the Future there which was so fun! Fun little crowd and nice clean theatre.
Really- give them a hand for a clean theatre...I really think that this is a huge accomplishment for them! -

IMAX 3D? not, more like regular screens with an IMAX logo.
pros: large stadium theaters
cons: volume is always too low during movies -

This is a nice theater to visit if you don't mind mall traffic...

I watched Ice Age 2 in 3D here. I've been to many other AMCs and the theater where i watched Ice Age was really small. I thought that after going to the Regal in Riverside Plaza that this would be bigger, but to my surprise, it was the same size. I like big theaters because i like to sit all the way on top so i can see everything. The seats here are comfortable though, which made the experience a little better.

I saw Avatar in IMAX 3D here.
Now note that I did see the same movie in RealD3D before I went here to watch it.
Let's just say the CGI and Graphics made my jaw drop. Again. And then I couldn't close it for a few hours and my eyes were having orgasms pretty much.
Also - 9 dollar nachos. I don't know why my friend opted for them, but he did. And he paid another 2 bucks for an extra container of nacho cheese.
What do you call cheese that isn't yours?
Nacho cheese! -

I would have to say this is my favorite theater in the area. My absolute favorite thing is the large plush chairs. They are so comfortable! The theater is huge, with lots of screens and showings and it is super clean!

With the digital projectors, it's hands down the best place to see a movie in Riverside. The restaurants in the vicinity are also top notch.

Great experience. I was kinda mad because the movie projector froze in the middle of the movie but they ended up giving all of us free movie tix for our next visit. Thats great customer service :D

Nice theatre. I saw Alice in Wonderland. A little disorganized when we lined up to get in. Mad dash once the seating opened up.

i watched the Avatar on IMAX 3D here and it was one of the best experience, i've had. but i was a bit disappointed that they only offer student ID on thursdays! plus $11 for a regular movie.. then a $6 for a medium popcorn, seriously??
