Review from Erin H.
Los Alamitos, CA
I come to this theater quite often. The staff is quite encouraged to get you to sign up for the AMC club or whatever which we just gave into since we seem to come here a lot.
The staff here is pretty nice and the theaters are pretty clean. It can get crowded here on weeknights but I've never had a problem getting into a movie I wanted. The prices here are standard movie theater prices (aka rip off) but I can't go without an ICEE and movie theater popcorn. I deserve to splurge every once and a while! -

I like this place and this is my first choice for movie theaters.
1) Chill and close to home
2) Newer theater
3) Clean
4) More adult atmosphere
5) Usually short lines
What more can you ask for?
1) free AMC membership since Regal is free
2) option to buy through Fandango. But line usually isn't long anyway -
Review from Laina A.
Not a crowded theater ever, people apparently are everyplace else! Newer, clean and staff is usually pretty friendly.
Far superior to Regal/Edwards at Spectrum, although once again, parking at The Legacy in Tustin is a bitch. Purchasing tickets for Hunger Games was a breeze and while there was a line on actual movie day, it was inside and moved pretty quickly in.
Large screens, stadium seating, seats are comfy, with arm rests that move up and down and do have the requisite drink holder. Snack stand was clean, no smell of burning popcorn, that's the worst! Yuck. Hey, even with almost sold-out Hunger Games, almost no lines for getting some goodies. AMC also seems to have a proper amount of staffing.
The restrooms are on both sides of this large theater complex, which is very convenient. These are very nice restrooms, especially for a movie theater, and appeared to be sanitary and clean and stocked. I did have a bit of a problem getting the water to stay on more than 5 seconds, but that is typical with all the water-saving features these days.
Per Randoll C., not much else to say, it's a theater. However, I wish I had an AMC chain near my home as it is superior to others. -
Review from Rohlin A.
The family went to see Hunger Games this past Sunday and it was the first time I have been to this theater.
The theater is relatively new and well taken care of at this point. There is a large waiting area inside if you are waiting for someone to purchase tickets. I didn't check the concession prices, but I am pretty sure they are on the outrageous side.
The theaters themselves are stadium style and the sound system is very good. I was pretty comfortable during the 2 1/2 hour movies, I did very little moving in my seat. The tickets were $10 a piece which is about the average amount these days and it is $6 if you can get there before noon.
This was a pretty good experience and it is relatively close to home so I might see another picture here in the future. -

Was here Saturday morning for the first showing of Phantom Menace.
No line.
Got the Anakin Collectable 3D Glasses.
Got Free Star Wars figures.
Got Darth Maul 3D glasses
After the movie, a few characters were outside taking pics
-------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- ---------------
The movie -
just as it was the first time it was released. Only like 40% of the movie is actually in 3D. The other 60% you can just take off the glasses and you're good. 2hrs of Jar Jar binks - just shoot me. -

I never hear much about The District but I ended up here on Christmas Day Night to catch Mission Impossible III with Anna.
Nice clean theater. Seats with adjustable arm rests allowing for some couples' snuggling or in Anna's case, stretching and laying out.
Not much else to comment on as it's a theater. Lots of parking that in the evening but it could be attributed to most places being close due to the holiday. -

We love this movie theater. About 90% of the movies we see all year are at this location. We are usually there for the first of the day showing on the weekends (only $6!). When we're here there's never much of a line, it's always clean, it doesn't take too long to get popcorn and such.
The people working here are friendly and nice and put up with customer hassles. (Like buying $500 worth of gift cards, or returning tickets to get new ones.)
We had some rewards coupons to use up and decided to see if we could get movie popcorn eat while watching the Oscars and were a little worried they might not let us (another theater chain wouldn't let us bring in an empty cup to get water, ugh!) but we didn't even have to say what it was for and the ticket guy let us go get our popcorn.
We haven't had any projector or sound or temperature issues in the two years we've been coming here. Only once has the early show been sold out (we're thinking a group must have gotten those tickets).
We're really happy with this AMC theater and will keep going back. -

This theater is never too busy that I can;t get a good seat even on opening days for popular shows. Negative: Parking. really restrictive traffic flow based on the access roads.

Really nice theater! This movie goer is impressed!
Nice location. Friendly staff. Nice and big theaters that are actually clean with comfy seats. The bathrooms are seriously impressive too (you need to check them out to believe me). I like this place a lot!
When I'm in the Tustin area again, I'll be coming back for sure!
Happy movie going! -
Review from Jamie W.
One of the least annoying movie theaters I've been to in a while. Too bad it's in Tustin/Irvine.
I consider myself a serious movie goer. I don't want to hear people talking in the theater - not even a whisper. Don't kick my chair. Don't wander in and out of movies you didn't pay for... Obviously I've got some pet peeves.
This AMC is super clean, the theater itself is very spacious and they seem to attract a higher class of person here. Maybe I just got lucky on a good night?
The most yelp worthy thing about this theater was that they have the distinction of serving the absolutely most amazing popcorn I have ever consumed. I don't know why, but I couldn't stop eating it. I even brought the rest home with me. Fresh, fresh, fresh and very buttery without any grease factor. Yum.
If I'm in the neighborhood and wanting to see a flick, I'll give this AMC another go! -

Favorite theater, always clean and friendly service! This place doesn't get too crowded. But the District's parking lot SUCKS.
you have been warned. -

I *know* I have Yelped this theater before, but for whatever reason, I cannot locate it. No problems! I'm going to Yelp it again.
Let me start with why I love this theater -- the bathroom. There are mirrors and sinks on each side, so you can see people on the other side. It's great for freaking out your friends after a night of drinking.
The theater itself is nice and clean and not crawling with strange people, bratty kids and large crowds. We have gone here a couple of times for the AMC Best Picture Showcase (when there were only 5 nominees). Yup... my bubble butt was comfy for the 10+ hours I sat and watched (and dozed off) the best in cinema.
There are plenty of self-service ticket (working) ticket machines for those of you who hate social interaction or having to hand off your plastic to someone else.
The AMC is basically the only reason I think this part of The District (not including the goodies across the way -- Whole Foods, In-n-Out, Chick-Fil-A, etc.) still has a pulse.
I really want to say it's crappy so people will not crowd this place, but I guess I'll have to share -- for the sake of my fellow Yelpers. -
Review from Stephanie Y.
Pasadena, CA
It's clean, not ever too crowded, and they have a decent sized parking lot in the back that is not usually crowded at night (kind of harder to find -- you have to go around, past the valet parking, through a gate).
Not much to complain about in terms of movie theaters ! -
Review from Jordan D.
you know what I actually really enjoy going to this theater. Its a nice alternative if you don't want to drive all the way to the spectrum for a decent theater and deal with all the little kids and business of the place. They offer lots of movie times and not to mention is almost as nice as the edwards in the spectrum. Been here a few times now and the theater is always spotless when I come in for my movie.
My advice is getting the amc frequent goer card. 1 dollar a month can get you free stuff, if you go to the movies a lot like me. Theater is clean, bathrooms are clean, staff is nice, and has ample movie times, what else could you want out of a movie theater.

Mission Viejo, CA
Ever since moving to southern california, I noticed that there are not many AMC locations. The only ones im familiar with is the one at the Block and now this one at the District. Its been awhile since I payed full price for a movie, cant believe its now $12 a ticket. I usually go to the edwards theaters and buy passes from costco which never expire so im use to paying about $8 a ticket. The one thing I did like about this place that it was very clean and the seats were very nice and plush. They also have moveable armrests so if there is nobody sitting next to you you can push them up to get a little more room. Like many yelpers have commented, the district is a little hard to get in and out of especially when it is really busy, it takes like 15 minutes just to get to the freeways. There are a lot of places to eat in the district so I would suggest not filling up on overprices movie snacks and just go grab something to eat in the food court. Your stomach and wallet will thank you for it.

Irvine, CA
My go-to theater. Always plays the latest movies and the facility is clean. The best part for me is that most of the time it isn't too crowded. I watched the last Harry Potter opening weekend and got there a little late and had no trouble finding a great seat.
Also, I love the bathrooms because of the mirrors. They always kinda trip me out. -
Review from Timmy S.
Went here for the first time yesterday and it is now one of my favorite theaters to catch a flick.
Parking is easy. Not too busy. The theater is super clean (lobby, theater, and bathrooms) and the staff is VERY friendly and courteous. I almost thought the ticket taker was going to hug me. The snack selection offers the usual stuff at the usual high prices. But note that there is a Rocky Mountain Candy shop right outside the theater. Big comfortable seats and excellent projection provide a great movie-watching experience.Listed in: Cinema

I actually prefer going to this location to watch movies rather than the more popular crowded mall nearby theaters. Way faster to get your tickets, more space, clean theater, etc.

I'm just going to cut straight to the point because we all know what we're thinking of when AMC pops up - movie theater.
So here's a review:
It does not appear that the District, where this theater is located, targets a demographics that is similar to that of The Block in Orange. From my recollection, The Block in Orange is inhabited by teenagers. The District tends to draw more of a 25-34 year old crowd or families. So sitting in the this AMC theater is different than the one at The Block in Orange.
The customers are generally quiet movie goers who want to watch a movie without interruption. Since the movie goers tend to be 25-34 or family oriented, you can guess which movies sell out fast: kids and trendy movies. Example, for an afternoon showing of Transformers 3 on a Saturday, the theater was packed and as soon as the credits rolled, I heard applauses. I thought to myself, this flick warranted an applause? Wow. But then I thought to myself, if any movie theater was to applaud this movie, it would be the AMC at the district.
The theater is spacious, popcorn can be buttery and service is given with kind of a smile (most of the staff here are younger: 16-24). -

This theater is pretty nice. I saw The Help here over the weekend and I was really impressed with how clean this place is. When I walked into the theater itself, there was no "what is stuck to my foot" feeling when I was walking to my seat.
And on a side note: The ladies restroom area is HUGE. With two entrances, I bet they never have lines out the door.... -

This AMC definitely has its act together! I've seen 3 or 4 movies here over the past couple of months and have had a great experience each time. The parking lot is huge and though you might not get rockstar parking, you will get a spot. The parking lot even pipes music which is a nice touch.
The theaters are clean with comfy, stadium style seating and big screens. The restrooms are well maintained and the staff have always been pleasant. The automated ticket kiosks work quickly and efficiently.
This has quickly become my go-to cinema even though I live closer to an Edwards (which needs some serious updating, just like most Edwards). -

Came here to watch the midnight showing of the last Harry Potter in 3D. Picked this theater out of all the other because of the selection of restaurants. We went to the late night happy hour at Bluewater grill and while we were hanging out with friends we found out other theaters were seating the midnight showing early. So my gf and I went to check at 945pm to our surprise they did seat our showing early also. So my gf saved a seats and waited while we closed out our bill at Bluewater.
Anyway, so we had the opportunity to hang out in theater 4 for about 5 hours so I think I have more than enough experience even if it was my first experience here to say this theater has comfy seats! I can't complain, the seats are ergonomically comfy and lots of leg room and enough that when someone walks by you aren't all scrunched up or bothered.
This is a great theater for a dinner and a movie date because there are so many restaurants nearby that can accomodate almost all food cravings. It is a nice area with few shops and isn't too big like the block so you aren't walking around in circles just to get back to the theater. It's was highly recommended by my friends Justin B. and Kristin C. Who had also joined us for happy hour and their recommendations never disappoint.
Great movie experience! Can't wait to watch more over the summer! -

The short of it:
- Fairly new, stadium seating, clean
- Good selection of movie snacks (skinny cow ice cream treats, ICEE, nachos, etc.)
- Can be pricey
- Usually not too crowded
The long of it:
Watching movies nowadays can be pretty expensive, especially when you add refreshments and food on top of that. I like to cut my costs by stopping by at Costco (in the same shopping center) and buying my movie tickets there for $15 for 2 adult tickets. Completely worth the extra trip or just grab a couple extra tickets the next time you go so you always have movie tickets on hand. This theater is still fairly new so everything looks pretty nice still and clean. They have a variety of items at the snack bar, but of course the prices are hiked up tremendously. I used to love having the free rewards program at AMC where you could get free movie tickets, popcorn, and drinks, but now they switched it to the AMC stubs program which is $12 a year. I don't like the fact that they changed it and I don't think its worth $12, that's my only gripe about this place. -

This is my movie theatre if choice. Convenient parking, no long lines, very tolerable if there is one. Doesn't get packed and crowded... well compared to the Irvine Spectrum.

I'm personally opposed to paying to see a movie at the theater. If given a choice between an overpriced theater and my computer, there's no competition: computer. However, every now and then I feel excited enough to seek the "theater experience" (with my partner to my right and a large refillable popcorn bag on my lap).
This is no $2 movie theater. This is a well-kept ginormous space with plenty of seating and very fresh albeit insanely-priced concessions.
I honestly don't like giving more than 3 stars to any movie theater, but the fact that this place lets you bring food in = one extra star. Be careful, though, because they do not allow you to bring in outside drinks (note: the last time I saw a movie here was quite a while back, so their current policy regarding outside food and drinks may have changed since then). I personally find it a little silly that they'll let me bring in a polish sausage from Costco but not the soda that accompanies it. Well, whatever. Just hide a drink in your purse/bag and you're good.
Another note to any UCI students: buy your tickets at UCItems on campus! They're way cheaper (slightly cheaper than at Costco) at $6.50 to $8 depending on what kind of ticket and which theater brand you want. -

This AMC located at The District in Tustin looks like a relatively new AMC. The seating was stadium seating and comfortable. The screen size was big enough and both the picture and sound quality were good.
They have your normal AMC concessions, but they were featuring healthy (or somewhat healthy) options as well.
The only strong negative was the person in the front row checking their phone the whole time. Unfortunately, the individual held the phone up high, which allowed the bright screen to become a distraction for most of the movie.
All in all, this AMC is comparable to the relatively new AMC theaters in Torrance (Del Amo) and Century City (though the Century City location typically showcases more interesting movies including independent films). In addition to their good picture/sound/seating, this AMC does do discounted pricing throughout the week and on matinees, which makes this one worth checking out if you live in the area.
Parking is free in the large lot that surrounds this theater and shopping/dining complex. -
Review from Emi K.
This theater always has an "abandoned" feel to it. We figure most moviegoers of the Irvine/Tustin vicinity prefer the Edwards Spectrum 21 & IMAX theater (which is smack dab in the center of a shopping mall). AMC Tustin 14 is super quiet, clean and spacious. I dig it and consider it one of my fave theaters.
My boyfriend and I came here last Saturday evening to check out the new Jake Gyllenhaal flick "Source Code." Sound quality was superb. Our seats were comfy-cushy. And yes, the film was solid gold (in case you were wondering).
One caveat to seeing a movie at the AMC theater: concession prices. $4.75 for a medium drink is a hearty punch to the ribs.Listed in: Orange County Love, Sights & Sounds

I was pretty grossed out that the theater wasn't cleaned between movies. There were half-empty popcorn containers, drinks and messes from the previous movie when I walked in to see True Grit on Saturday night.
The theater itself is nice, the seats are comfortable and amphitheater style and I like how the seats aren't fold-up, but the theater not being clean just put a damper on the whole experience.Listed in: Southern California, My weekend in Tustin

Theatres ALWAYS clean! And the matinee prices at AMC can't be beat, its like 6 dollars. Matinee ends earlier than other theatres, but money is more important than convenience, its not always about you, but your wallet. :)
14 theatres is a pretty good size, too, so you're usually going to be in luck with finding a time that works for the movie you want to see. Also, the nearby Native Foods cafe is really delish, so you can do movie/lunch or movie/dinner. -

Review from Pillin L.
Great place to watch a movie. It's never too crowded and their food is always hot and tasty. I love their nachos. Unlike the pump cheese you get at Regal, AMC cheese doesn't scream artificial. It's tasty and cheesy, just want you want from cheese sauce.
I LOVE AMC theaters. Perhaps I'm a little bias because I worked there when I was a teenager, but whatever the case may be, there theaters are always squeaky clean and my movie experience is always splendid!
Keep it up AMC! You guys make me proud! -

I came here last week to watch Sherlock Holmes. It was quite empty for a Friday afternoon! Though, the place was clean and the workers were friendly. I just wish this AMC had those special Coke Machines, but it wasn't too bad of a theatre. I just love that it's close to the Diamond Jamboree plaza. I was able to eat out, and then watch Sherlock Holmes here!

I watch movies on my laptop, at home.
I avoid movie theaters diligently.
The last time I went to the cinema was to see Iron Man 2, seven months ago.
On this occasion, it was MY suggestion to go out and watch The Warrior's Way. Kung Fu, Cowboys, Ninjas, and seriously impressively overlaying and compiling.
It was Sunday night and it was raining, Including the two of us, there were 7 people total in the theater.
The popcorn was fresh and the floors were clean. If all movie outings were like this, I'd be more willing to participate....but $11.50 for a ticket? Really? Wow.
Nice theater and very large. And there you have it. My completely qualified opinion of a type of establishment that I rarely frequent and know nothing about.

I came here with my girlfriend following our Valentine's celebration dinner to watch The Vow (kind of disappointing). This AMC was pretty well rounded and didn't get super crowded. It's in the heart of The District and didn't take more than 5 minutes to exchange our Gold Experience passes from Costco at the ticket booth for tickets. When I walked in, there wa some bouncer/usher guy that wouldn't let me take my drink in the theater. I was cooperative but I wish they were more lenient towards the consumer. I respected the policy and finished my drink outside but it was definitely an inconvenience. Following that, I went to the bathroom because I thought that downing my drink would lead to me taking a serious leak during the movie so why not just let it rain beforehand. The bathrooms are very spacious and clean so you were not udderly freaked out when you set foot in there. It's kind of isolated away from other theater rooms so you don't hear loud noises from theater ambiance. When the previews started the speakers kind of flickered and it sounded like the movie was going to break. It didn't. But other than that there was nothing different about this place except there were a few people that kept walking in our movie and ruined the groove.

This is a clean AMC that is like all the others, plus on occasion has special days with other films. The location convenient if you have friends to meet up with from all over OC
My beef with this AMC is based one 2 things. 1, parking can be annoying and there is sometimes no close place to park and on the weekend it gets crazy busy at the district. 2, the workers here are incredibly hardcore about not letting anyone bring any outside food or drink. My GF brought in a water bottle so she didn't have to pay for a $6 soda and one of the employees in the middle of the movie, stood in front of her and my friends for several minutes ranting about it. -

We went to see Twilight 4 on a Saturday night. There were no lines. Plenty of seats. Place is brand new. Very clean. The seats were awesome, all lines are clearly above each other so there is no obstructive view.
