I've been here several times now-- the last time being the midnight showing of The Dark Knight. Everytime I've been here, the staff has been accomodating, super nice and the place has been clean. The night I watched The Dark Knight, the staff was especially nice to me after I lost the rest of my group and had to keep going in and out between my theatre and the outside line just to find them. When I eventually found the rest of my group outside, the staff had no problem letting them cut through since I had already saved them seats inside a theatre.. And I can't beat the 5 minute drive from my house..
I was here for a midnight showing of The Dark Knight and found the place to be a pig sty. The hallway smelled like someone had crapped on burnt popcorn, the men's room floor was slippery with urine and more than one movie goer complained about the blaring heat in the theater.
Maybe the bathrooms are only cleaned in the morning? Maybe it would be a good idea to clean them regularly? Also not all the sinks have running water, I'm not sure if they are broken or if this is some kind of cost cutting initiative. The trashcans were overflowing with used paper towels.

Finally, a theater I can drive down the street to! This one is brand new, but minus one star for the student discount only being on thursdays.
We go here all the time because it is close to my house and the seats are comfortable. If we see an early show, we just go to the food court its a lot cheaper then buying it in the movie theater. I also like going there because they have a game called stacker it is an addicting game to play.
I would not recommend this theater if your going to see a new premier it's always sold out and packed.

Not bad...not bad at all! I'm so glad they finally opened a decent theater in the area and i don't have to choose from Capital 16 or drive really far to Mercado or Oakridge.
They have a variety of screening times for all the latest movies, seats are comfy and theater is nice/big/clean (sooo important!).
Only weird this is if you go on a friday night you feel sooo old if you're over 16 cuz everyone there seems to be in the 12-16 range. They also have cops all over the place outside the theater which kinda makes you feel like you're loitering even if you're standing there for 5 minutes waiting for some friends.
Tips 1: On weekends before 12noon all AMCs offer discounted pricing (i believe its $6 here).
Tip 2: If you're going on opening night...GO EARLY or else you'll end up having to sit in the front.

This is my movie theater of choice. Not only is it the closest one to me but it's better than other theaters in the south bay. Like I said in another movie theater review, AMC at Eastridge FTW!
It was a bit crowded being a Friday night, but the lines went fairly fast. We got here around 7:45pm but had to watch the 10:50 showing of Wanted since the ones before sold out. Movies didn't used to sell out here. However, on the weekdays, there's hardly a line and plenty of tickets.
Prices went up as all AMCs to $10.25, but on Thursdays it's $7.50 for students all day. Not too bad.
Nonetheless, the seats are comfy, the screens and auditoriums are big and it's pretty clean overall. But bring a jacket or blanket!
They don't have showtimes for movies after midnight. Most last showings are at 10 something so if you're looking for a really late night movie, you'll probably have to go to AMC Mercado.

Another central location for the teeny boppers to lounge around and watch movies. Nice theater and the bathrooms are cool. Comfy seats and clean. In a few years....let's hope this place doesn't turn ghetto.
Yesterday, I watched a movie at the Eastridge AMC for the first time. Eastridge has definitely come up since a couple of years ago. I remember coming to this mall in high school, and thinking, damn this mall is crappy.
Anywho, this newer theatre is big, and when you're walking through the theaters, it feels like you're walking through an airport. Haha, I don't know. its just set up and decorated differently than other AMC theatres.
movie prices are the same. food prices are the same.. but dang the seats are comfortable! When you sit down, they kind of sink in and are cushioned. Also, the seats also recline just a bit... just a little so that it's comfortable and you're not swinging... cool!

I know it's summer and all, but hot damn, do they HAVE to put the A/C on BLAST?!?! It felt like a winter day in Manhattan inside the theatre, and I was even wearing a cardigan. It was so cold that my fingers were starting to freeze up... at least that was how it felt....
Besides the -15 degree weather inside, AMC Theatres at Eastridge is exceptional. The seats were big, spacious, and very comfortable.

I was very surprised to enjoy my experiences at the theaters in Eastridge Mall.
One would think because of Eastridge's reputation that the movie theatre would also follow.
I've been here a dozen of times, and all times have been positive. They offer competitive prices beating that of the theater in Oakridge mall. Although Oakridge Mall is a better mall overall, their movie theatre is inferior to Eastridge's yet charges more. Eastridge also has bargain matinee prices before a certain time.
This theatre is very clean inside and out. The staff has always been friendly. And the best part about this movie theatre.. THEY ALLOW OUTSIDE FOOD TO BE BROUGHT INSIDE. Amazing! I've ordered items from the food court and brought it inside without being questioned countless of times.
SO PLEASE DONT RUIN THIS FOR EVERYBODY. If you bring outside food, be clean when eating it inside and dispose of it yourself, or put everything in a bag so the ushers can easily clean it.
I've never felt crowded in the hallways of this theatre. They are very wide and open. Because this theatre is fairly new, they should be pretty updated as far as technology, BUT I don't believe they have the superior DLP projectors for digital viewing, which is of course a downer. The seats are comfy with fold down armrests to separate you and strangers or to get you closer to your date.
I can't speak on behalf of the arcade because who plays those nowadays when there are consoles and HDTVs and surround sound which make those arcades look like Atari. Just shows how old I am, and how times have changed. They use to be a big part of movies growing up, and now even today's adolescents and teens are no where to be found in the arcade. Although they did seem to have a good selection as I pass by it.
This has easily become my favorite theatre. I hate paying $10+ to watch a movie unless I'm on a date, so I only go here during matinee hours when the kids are minimal and the price is lower. With their affordable matinee price, clean atmosphere, I'll be going here whenever I feel the need to watch a movie.
This is one of the better things on this part of San Jose, please hoodrats, wannabe thugs, mallrats, wannabe gangstas, hardcores, ghetto folks, cholos, cholas, boppers, shorties...... don't ruin it.

I hate this place but I only go because it's close to home. If I do go now, I choose times when theres hardly anyone there.
I am so sick of the obnoxious kids that go here. So sick of the rude people that let their kids run around during the movie. So sick of the people that constantly talk and make loud comments during the movie.
I paid to watch the movie so let me watch my damn movie.
whenever I watch a movie,
I always wonder why the
other concession stands
(you know, the non-main
ones - the ones usually
on the way or right next to
the movie theaters) are
never open. Even during
premiere days - I never /
will never see it up and
running. This piece of
knowledge is incorporated
with all the theaters
AMC
Century
Milpitas
Flea Market Drive Inn
Pleasure Theater *18+*
Its a freakin display. Besides
that - the yelpers say its nice
and clean. I do have to agree
on that but I think its because
it's still new. I don't know why
they decided to display a vectorish/
posterizish solos of movie stars at
the top of the front/main enterance -
these images will be there forever.
-no room for new movie stars or
updated pics of the current ones
you know? And I hate the fact
that it's long and narrow. I feel
like I'm in a ghetto airport or a
mini great mall. The fact that I have
to walk so far from the exit/entrance
kills me.

Me and my boyfriend come here at least 2 times a month to see good movies that have came out. great service..... fun environment BUT needs cheaper prices. Who wants to pay 20.00 for two people to see a 1 hour movie. it doesnt seem worth my money. If they could lower at least by 3 dollars i would give 5 stars. otherwise.. they get 4 for over priced movie tickets and food. and arcade games
Great place for a movie.....lots of parking and never crowded (unlike Mercado which is a zoo!) It's not the most desirable mall to go to or eat at but it has a great movie theater! I also love the fact that its not seperated into two sections which makes it easier for me to sneak into a second movie =P

Just like some of the other posts; great theater, with big stadium seating and very clean. Lots of parking and not too bad for traffic getting there. I rolled right in with the water I had from buying lunch at the food court before going in, and no one asked about it. The ticket machines make me wonder why there was a line, but I guess some folks like buying tix that way still. I agree with all the kids too...then again, I was watching a PG-13 flick that day.
Without my wife, I'll go here more often. With her, a bit too ghetto (like Travis W. said)...

This theatre is AWESOME! It is always clean, has fresh food ready at all times of the day, and the widest selection of movie times. I've gone to this theatre honestly about 106 times, and lately it's been on a weekly basis. They allow outside food and drink in, which is awesome becuase the food court is right across from it.
My favorite feature is the row of 4 machines they have so that you can buy your own tickets without having to wait in line.
The seats are comfortable, high and wide.
Parking is never a problem becuase there is ample parking on both sides of the theatre. The staff is courteous and professional (most the time) and seem to go above and beyond what their jobs require.
It is my theatre of choice because it is always nice and near lots of other forms of entertainment.
i love this theater and i don't know why i don't go more often. during the week, it's pretty empty which is lovely if you want to get a bit faded beforehand and check out a flick. the so-called "ghettoness" of the mall never bothers me but then again it's probably because i'm mexican and not scared of other brown people.

Much better than making the trek all the way out to AMC Mercado. It's not as crowded and if you have time to kill before your movie starts, its in a mall, so you can always find something to do.

I watched a movie here tonight and the place very nice and clean. I enjoyed the facilities but the movie we watched wasn't so great.
It was easy for us to get a ticket as we used the automatic ticket machine.
For mainstream movies, I never hesitate to drive over to Eastridge. It's freakin' empty ALL THE TIME.
It's a very new theater that's extremely clean with exceptionally friendly staff.
The only time I've ever had to wait in any sort of line was for an opening, and even THAT wasn't bad.
I've never seen that "No Weapons Allowed" sticker that Eugene mentioned...but I will leave my glock at home in the future.

The theater is just like the mall. It's pretty on the outside but inside, its just like I said in my other review...
It's not the building...It's the people.
Sure this place is nice, decorated with its movie-like stuff, but when you are actually sitting in the seats, that's when its ghetto-ness comes out. I've never seen a movie where there were teenie boopers or wannabe gangsters TALKING THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE MOVIE. I don't care if your friends are coming, or that you need to leave your damn phone on, or that you need to text Juan, Monica, or Will right in the middle of the god damn movie!
In conclusion, it is a nice theater. The people need to be cleaned up like the popcorn on the floor.

The area's a little ghetto, and the mall doesn't really have any stores that I consider useful or interesting, but the movie theater is good enough for me to drive across town to. Plenty of parking (unlike AMC Mercado and even AMC Saratoga), the theater is kept very clean, and they're usually not sold out. My only complaint is the other patrons, many of whom seem to think it's perfectly ok to have a conversation during the movie, or talk on their cell phones. Hello, it's a movie theater, shut up already! I've been known to tell the people sitting around me to please shut their pie hole. Only I wasn't that polite. Still, 4 stars for ease of parking and a nice theater.

Besides the plethora of young children on a Friday night here, the theater was actually clean, non sticky and well run. Seats were comfortable and the air circulation in the theater was perfect. Sometimes they make it too cold or too hot. Popcorn was okay, but bathrooms were kept clean. I would definitely come back.
When a theater has a "No Weapons Allowed" sticker displayed predominantly at the ticket booths, it's never a good sign.
I try to steer away from this theatre. Not because of the "ghettoness" of it or because of the mall, but because of the teenagers that are always there. They talk too much during movies, which you know they all snuck into, and make too much noise or start talking on the phone.
The only negative about the theatre itself is the long hallway one has to walk through to get to a movie, it's a long walk to get to screen number 16....
I don't care that this theater is located in so called "ghetto" Eastridge. This theater is convenient for me since it's less than a 5 min. drive from my house. Yea there are teeny boppers and wannabe gangsters always hanging out at this place, but I don't care (what place doesn't have any of those types of people anyways). Everytime I come to this theater, I always get good seats even if I'm 5 minutes late to a movie (and that's on a Friday or Saturday night). Seats here are comfy. I always go to the automated ticket booth to buy tickets if the lines are long.
My guess as to why this theater isn't crazy/packed on weekends like the Great Mall or AMC 20 Mercado is because lots of people focus on the ghetto aspect/location of Eastridge since it's on the East Side, so people try to avoid going there. Well, my gain because I can actually sit comfortably and enjoy a movie at the same time.

This has become my theatre of choice (but that might be because I'm easy and getting from my front door to the boxoffice in 7 minutes if I get every light is awesome!).
There are a lot of teenie hangabouts in the afternoon and early evening, but so long as they clam-up while IN the theatre, I'm alright with it.
The theatre's relatively well maintained, restooms are clean, concessions are decent.
Parking can be a bear and feel a little less than safe if you've caught the latest showings.
Designed a bit like an airport terminal though... if you have a showing at Gate... er Theater 10 or higher, its kind of a hustle to get over to that end.
$6 flicks before noon on F-Sat-Sun and Holidays is awesome!
EAST SIIIIIIIDE!!!!
I don't go to movies much these days. I've been here three times (The Devil Wears Prada, Hot Fuzz and Sicko) and each time has been a great experience. Parking is very easy to find and the mall itself is not crowded. The movie theater is new and spacious and in the three times that I have been here I have not experienced loud mouthed teenagers, although the next time I go I probably will for sure.
I hate Mercado and hate Santana Row I do like the downtown theater but there isn't always a good selection, that being said, AMC Eastridge is my favorite place to watch a movie.
Also, they have lots of wheelchair spaces.

Great theatre!! I have been going there since it opened and will continue to keep going as long as I am satisfied. Environment, and everything is very good and friendly. Nice place to watch a movie.
We go here all the time bc it's near our office and all the other theaters near by are all outdated (ahem.. berryessa & capitol expwy can you please get a makeover?!)
Anyways.. lines here are ridiculously long on the weekends but it's Eastridge and there's tons of boppers here. But if you go to the automated box office or online, you should be fine.
We also like getting the popcorn here with tons of butter (the bf) and jalapenos (the gf.. and now the bf). Plus a large drink to wash it down. Seats here are comfy.. they rock back a little and love seats (just lift the armrest). And there you go.. sit back and enjoy the looooong previews (the bf likes. the gf doesn't) and eventually the movie will come on.
We recommend going here on a weekday before 6 to enjoy the matinee prices and no crowd!
4 stars because for their grand opening they let our organization (FYC) do gift wrapping as a fundraiser and gave all of our students free movie tickets + popcorn and soda!
- Ann Leslie V. and Mark S.
We have been here several times. If you go before noon, they give you a ticket for 6 bucks. They even do it on the weekends. The facility is pretty big with lots of options for food.
We just saw Ocean's !3 here. The theater and bathrooms were clean. The hot dog was decent and the popcorn was actually hot. I watched them taked my popped kernals of corn and put them in the bag..
We will go back again.
I hate it when a new movie comes out and a long line of teenyboppers are waiting to watch it. And when the movie starts, they start screaming out dumb things and acting like they're so funny when really, they just need to shut up. Annoying little teenagers.. some of them would bring laser lights to the movies and think it's funny to shine it at a character's nostrils. The theater is wonderful, but the people who watch it are inconsiderate and just plain rude. The people who work here are great too.. I feel sorry for them having to deal with all those annoying ESSJ kids.
99% of the time, I go on Fridays before noon...$6 for any movie = Great deal (before noon Fri-Sun is $6)
No teenagers because they're in school = Greater deal!
It's usually clean, and if you don't go when everyone else goes, it's pretty empty. One time, I watched a movie with only 1 other lady who told me when I came in, "I'm so glad you're here. I was afraid I'll be the only one."
I agree with Leticia...those long hallways are a pain to walk through. But I like looking at the murals from different movies so I don't mind as much.
They have two concession stands, which is convenient for those in the theaters tucked in the back, but the back stand is usually closed during the morning shows. I don't mind because I don't get food from there. It's expensive. Just buy food from the Food Court right outside. I've never been stopped when I carried food in.
Oh yeah...never go on Friday nights. I did once and never again. That's when the annoyance is greatest: teenagers and the parents who won't take their crying toddler out.
BIGGGG and Clean but parking was very confusing and it was real cold in the theatre.

YES, BECAUSE EVERYBODY LOVES STALE POPCORN.
so i grew enough balls to watch spiderman 3 today @ 10am all by myself (pathetic, i know). woohoo it was 6 dollars for a ticket...boo to the 4 dollar bottle of water and boo to the 6 dollar popcorn. i could've bought my imaginary boyfriend a ticket with that money spent on stale and BURNT popcorn. anyway, i didn't think that people would get their asses up to watch a movie at 10am on a friday morning, but since it's eastridge and all, the ghetto people know that it's hella cheap and my experience with watching spiderman 3 was ghetto. people sneaking in during the suspenseful parts and shaking their stupid box of frickkin raisinets. anyway, the workers are really nice. the girl at the concession stand asked me what size water i wanted....i said, "medium?" because i thought water came in a standard size bottle and then she convinced me that it was only fifty cents more to get a large. so i got a large. for four dollars. i really need to get a boyfriend to pay for this sixteen dollar date.
anyway, i hate six dollar stale popcorn.

AMC Eastridge 15...used to work there but quit for another job. this theatre is good, has good atmosphere and friendly workers. only disappointment is the long walk to the theatres especially if you get one of the last theatres. aside from that still has new comfy chairs, great quality movies and ghetto people watching. If it werent for all the wanna be gangsters at eastridge this would get 5/5.
I've been to the movies here a couple times and all times I was pleased with the place itself. Its not very crowded and theatre is brand spankin new. The seats are a beautiful plush red and the place is never too crowded with noisy rude people who talk during the movie n stuff. Go here if you want to get away from crowds of people.

my GOD the people (aka teens that spend all day there) are so obnoxious!
when i went to see 1408 i was surrounded by people that screamed at pointless parts in the movie just to be funny.
and when others would tell them to be quiet theyd respond back with a smart ass comments.
clearly just trying to get attention from the rest of there little clicks.
seriously it was so annoying!
just like any other movie theatre the food is way overpriced!
way way way!
whats up with popcorn being so expensive now days?
what i do like is that we can bring our own food in.
however some the workers there need to chill out.
but i can see why theyre somewhat rude to people under the age of 18.
if i had to be surrounded by those kids all day i guess i wouldnt let someone with a valid i.d in either =/
my adivce?
dont focus on the people who have i.ds and are just trying to see a movie, focus on the ones inside sneeking from movie to movie.
