Best theater in town. But I only like going on the weekdays. Student deals have disappeared so catching a good flick on the weekday is ideal. (But I heard there is some student discount on Thursday?)

The location is great because there are many surround restaurants that cater to every pallet.

But the opportunity to watch a movie without a hundred small children and teens that have been freed for the summers makes the theater my weekday escape before 9.

In addition, most of the workers are friendly and the theater is clean and comfortable.

The Cinema is really not something special, frankly.  Now, I'm no moviegoing fanatic, but I still don't like to be gouged for $13 for a large popcorn and drink.  Frankly, after paying $10 to get through the door, I find prices like that to be simply insulting.

The theatre I sat in was still dirty from the last showing (this was as the lights were going down for my own showing), and the seats were squeaky (which is awful in a place where "Silence is golden").

Also, the Tallahassee Mall is simply a depressed area, and I did not feel very secure while entering / exiting the cinema at night, at all.

This cinema might be the best place in town, but it really isn't a good theatre compared to more sophisticated offerings elsewhere.

What a great place to come and catch a flick.

Go on a weekday and the price is $4.50, geez now that is not a bad deal.  The theater is very large, plenty parking in the mall parking lot.  and the seats are comfortable, theater is clean and the staff are pretty friendly.

It is located inside the Tallahassee mall which is never ever crowded.  Visit this place on the weekdays, you can not get any more reasonable on ticket prices.  I would imagine on weekends they get busy but hey during the week you have plentiful seating and inexpensive.

We watched a chick flick and for $4.50 totally worth it.  The concession stands are your typical over priced popcorn and drinks, but heck they have to make money, right?

    Decent place.

It's a movie theater.  A bit pricey but if you go in the morning you can see any movie for $5

Based on other theaters in town, AMC gets a 4 star rating, but it's not much compared to theaters in bigger cities, so 3 stars. I prefer Regal theaters normally, but the Regal in town is even smaller. Here's what you need to know:

The easiest way to get there is to park in the back lot of the mall, or in the lot near Belk's. They close some of the other doors in the mall after the regular stores close.

Come during matinee hours. The tickets are $5 now I think? You can even catch a new release on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for $5 if you come before 11:55 AM (check their website for more info).

If you have a credit/debit/gift card, use the kiosks. There are two at the bottom of the stairs and two at the top between and ladies' and men's bathrooms. I always forget about the two at the top, but they're usually free even if there's a line for the other two.

The ticket lines sometimes aren't staffed if you go late at night. I haven't tried paying cash at customer service, but it sounds like it would work.

If you really want to go to late night movies, be forewarned that the people who go late at night like to talk A LOT, because they don't seem to understand pop culture references and have to ask each other about it. It's better in the morning, but sometimes you'll hit a show that has a bunch of children who like to say whatever's on their mind. The kids are cuter and say funny things, though.

On weekdays, all tickets are CHEAP ($4.50, I think - about half price discount from the weekend)!  Ticket kiosks are easy and quick, and rarely will you have to wait in line.  The theaters are always nice and clean.  Quality of picture/sound is pretty good.

Not to call out a fellow reviewer, but anyone who finds themselves lamenting the line at the snack stand or lack of good seats for a sold-out show should NOT blame the theatre... common knowledge dictates that if you are seeing a new and/or popular release, you show up EARLY!  Likewise, expect to spend a few minutes in line for snacks (if you really must... I am too cheap and too picky to waste money on microwaved pretzels and nachos...)

1 star knocked off for: (i) gross bathrooms, but I find that movie theaters always have the WORST bathrooms... I blame the little rugrats and their inattentive parentals... and (ii) location at the worst shopping mall ever... this movie theater is the only thing keeping Tallahassee Mall (barely) alive.

This is our favorite theater to watch movies. Lots of room and the sound is superb. I don't think I've ever been disappointed here. As always, if you're wanting to see a popular movie, you must get there early to get good seats. Latecomers will be disappointed.

Concession can be slow if there is a crowd before a movie, but I think it's better than some I've visited.

Not the only IMAX, yet not the most advanced (thats a few miles away at the Challenger Center) yet can seat the most and brings to you IMAX movie theater style.

Due to the economy and other (in my opinion) corrupt money problems in the film industry ticket prices are on the rise. In reality, Tallahassee AMC is only catching up to the risen ticket prices in other cities.. On the bright side if you ever vist New York City AMC you are now paying the same price for a movie ticket.  Hint: Want to save a few bucks? don't see a movie Friday-Sunday, Holidays, or on opening night.

The cinema itself has always been clean and has a very inviting layout to it and for the most part staff have never been confronting or done anything to complain about. AMC is the biggest theater in town, thus it attracts people from all walks of life,, choose your movie times accordingly.

Weekends and Thursday nights (especially with a hott movie out) get very crowded,,, seeking to avoid seating arrangement problems?? get there early! as in atlest 30 min.

As expected at movie theaters in general (all my life have yet to run into one that is the opposite) overpriced concessions. A few years ago AMC allowed outside food and drink to be brought in. Recently, if you have noticed the new sign right as you walk in prohibiting such. The loophole: Just hide it upon entry, once you get into the theater room itself, staff cannot confront you about it. haa prolly the thing AMC does not want you to know.

Terrible experience. The concession stand attendants move extremely slow. It seems as if they cant care less about your movie. Got into the theater to find that there weren't two seats together. Had to sit in the front row. The front row seats are extremely close to the screen, so close in fact, that we had to leave to see another movie. Very unwatchable. The icee drinks do not fit in the cupholders. Just a frustating experience. This is why I go less and less to the movie theater. Better to stay home, watch a bluray and save yourself 50 bucks.

It's a good local theater. The IMAX 3d theater is great with great sounds quality. The theatres are usually clean and the ticket line is fast, there are also self ticket computers where u can buy ur tickets without having to wait in line.
