Nice theater.  We went on a Sunday.  There was no line and it was a good time.  The movie Safe is real cool too.

Dear Teen Mom who brought your baby under the age of 1 with you to see "Breaking Dawn" at 10:30 AM -

Thank you for not removing your screaming, tantruming child during the epic scene where Bella finally gets knocked up. I have been waiting a whole year to see that ish! The screams of your child, plus those of the fellow movie goers who were telling you to take your  baby out of there and calm it down did not equal the screams of pleasure I was dying to see.

Also, thank you for further not removing your child during another epic scene later in the movie.

    You suck. Please get sterilized.

    Signed,
The Puma Mom who wanted to enjoy some hot young men on screen

(And to think I only paid $6 for this adventure but got a $30 parking ticket from Prince William County because I parked in the wrong space)

This seems to be a decent theater.  I try not to go when I know it will be crowded so that I can enjoy the experience.  I just walk up to the machine and watch my movie with a kids snack pack.

Food is overpriced and the unsupervised kids ruined the movie every time I go here, sorry I would rather stay home.

I feel old.  Why? Because I worked here...before they built this one.  The old AMC theater was a hell-hole, and people complaining about this one need to be shot.  Working in concessions feeding hungry, moody, rude people is no picnic.

I've only been to this updated one once, a few years ago before I relocated to the other coast.  It was clean, still overrun with obnoxious teenagers, but the lines for food were almost nonexistant.  I felt jealous for a minute.

Good place for a movie.  Stadium seating.  Be sure to get to the place 1/2 hr early if you want a hot snack like the chicken breasts.
Like most places, the previews start at the start time, not the movie.

Just your average AMC movie theater - nothing special. It's a little less crowded than the ones in Alexandria, so that's a plus, but you still have the same slow servers at the concession stand. Do they really try to find the slowest, most nonchalant teenagers to work at these places on purpose so that by the time you get up to your turn, you're so hungry you HAVE to pay the $14 for popcorn and soda?

Either way, get here early if it's a new movie you're seeing, because people get here over 30 mins before the movie starts to get seats - I really hate that. When are we going to get reserved seating at movie theaters?

Overall the place is clean, but on my last trip there our film was in a small theater room and it was not cleaned after the previous movie, so the seats and floors were filled with old popcorn, drinks, and sticky-ness...

NOTE: they don't have Fandango - thumbs down! And they CHARGE you to join their rewards club.

Over the years the movies got expensive. I can't afford to go to the movies when a new movie comes out. Two days ago I had pay $9.25 for a day time movie to see Jack and Jill. The food stand is expensive. You spend a bundle on movies.

This is the theater I go to all the time. It is nice. I usually catch matinee shows when it is not crowed. As far as long lines never see them. Night shows and new release is where the crowd ison the weekends.

The theater is parto fo the Potomac Mills mall so if you don't mind dealing with the crappy parking and traffic that is Potomac Mills, you'll be gtg.

They have ticket machines outside so you don't have to wait in the lines. Service is good with a nice staff but I would not recommend watching a movie on any Friday night, Saturday night, or Sunday matinee. Pure madness with all the parents dropping their kids off with nothing better to do. Oh and always expect a police car on the sidewalk on one of those days

Stadium seating is alright but the seats don't rock. Bummer.

If you're a Costco member, you should go next door to Costco, buy cheaper tickets, and use them at the theater! You'll save a couple bucks.

In general, I've found AMC theaters to be really nice!  I especially like the fact that they have stadium seating, so you don't have to worry about not being about to see the screen.  The theaters are also fairly large, so getting a decent seat is more likely.

The only thing I don't like about this particular AMC theater is that the theater is attached to Potomac Mills Mall which often results in a heavy crowd of loud, obnoxious teens and pre-teens, which isn't really appreciated considering the high price of tickets at this theater.

Drove all the way to this place to watch Avatar in IMAX 3D. Had watched Avatar 3D earlier - IMAX is the best experience for the movie!

The theater is nice and seats are comfortable - not as good as AMC Hoffman though. We went on a cold and freezing night and 5 of the 6 ticket vending machines were not working. That would be okay if they were indoors, but these vending machines are located outside the theater building and it was not fun trying to get my pre-purchased tickets printed out in the cold!

This is a really nice movie theatre.  It has joined the trend of providing machines for patrons to purchase movie tickets themselves rather than to go through the line at the window.

The concession stand is really nice.  The menus are interactive, which makes the whole thing attractive.  In addition, there are candy "bins" in between lines that customers can pick out and add to their drinks, popcorn and whatnots.

The auditorium that I went to was nice and of a good size.

Unfortunately, there was a misunderstanding about a movie that I wanted to see.  However, the manager was very understanding and refunded my money without any problems.  In fact, he threw in a couple of free passes.  So, I can say that the customer service there was great.

I would love to come back here more often...if only 95 wasn't such a bitch.

Nice theater, one of the nicer ones I've been to in NoVa, but nothing to get tooo excited about!  Concession food is super pricey but I think that's the norm for most theaters.  I nearly always see AM showings because the ticket price is only $6, so that's nice!  Nice stadium seating and large screens, decent customer service.

I was here for the Wednesday late night showing of Avatar. The place was relatively busy at the time, to be expected during holiday break, but what isn't expected is the freaking mess at the concession counters.

The counters were littered with trash and popcorn. It was bad! But something I had never seen before was the mess behind the counter. There was more popcorn on the floor than in the popcorn makers themselves. When it comes up to your ankles it's time to sweep, folks!!!
    Bunch of slobs work there!

Otherwise, the service was beyond slow. Where is the sense of urgency? You are not cleaning, that's obvious, how about move a little faster?

I do like the retro touch in the design of the place. Very cool.

Typical movie theatre- overpriced tickets, overpriced food, but at least it is clean and has large screens. Several iMax screens set this apart from other theatres nearby. If you go early on the weekends you can catch the $5 matinee.

This is my local theater and the only complaint is that they hire the SLOWEST teenagers in America to work the concession stand. The longer the line, the slower they are and you will  miss all of the previews and the beginning of your movie waiting for snacks.  I can understand why people just sneak their own snacks in.  Also Regal Cinemas has much better popcorn.

I've been frequenting this theatre since it moved from the sketchy area that Sears occupies now. The theatre is generally clean and the overall selection of films is quite good. I have even come to the conclusion that while the price is a little steep, the food is actually decent and you'd get about the same going to a restaurant.

The staff is decent, but I find the other movie goers to actually be the issue. I went to the recent Lord of the Rings showings and we had one drunken annoyance in the theatre, and after complaining, the staff did nothing to remove the person. We all paid the same price for the movie, so I don't understand how one person is permitted to ruin the movie experience for every one else. I did speak to the manager after the fact, but I didn't want to hear apologies. I don't think any of us should tolerate bad behaviour in theatres, but we do.

The earlier the movie you go to, the more likely you can avoid annoying people, but that makes it tough when you want to see midnight releases like Harry Potter or the aforementioned LotR movies. Their staff needs to grow a set and do their jobs. And people need to realise that the movie theatre isn't your home.

I'm a movie buff so I love the theater. This one is nice and comfortable, but ofcourse the food and drinks are VERY pricey. I bought an icee for 5.75 (wow.) The prices for tickets can be very high also but it depends on if you are both* not* a student or senior... but it also depends on what time of day you are going to the theater. If you are willing to go during the morning hours on a weekend (or whichever day you have off,) you'll pay about 50% LESS than if you buy a ticket(s) for a late night showing. If you are on a Very Tight Budget... see a morning show for about* 6 bucks, instead of paying 11 dollars and change past 7pm (or something to that effect.) I have to admit... I know it's not ALLOWED, but I am on a Very Tight Budget so I "smuggle" snacks and drinks in my bag (although I didn't last time I went... I decided to give in and buy that 6 dollar icee ;o) If you want to eat candy at the movies, please don't be stupid and pay over 4 dollars for a small box of Sour Patch Kids. All you have to do is go to either the near by dollar store or Walmart, and you can buy a single box of brand name candy (the same brand candy in similar small boxes like those in the movie theaters) for about a quarter of the price! Stick in your backpack, purse, jacket etc. and as for drinks... same situation. Buy a bottled water, or soda at the dollar store or Walmart (or where ever) and pay a fraction of the price. Stick it in your bag and viola... you've saved a sh_t load... along with your 6 dollar MORNING tickets LOL. Yes, I'm very cheap but it works for me. OH BTW... I make sure to put all of my trash either in the trash can near the theater.... or if I'm too lazy for that, I stick it in my bag... so No One who works at AMC has to clean up anything that has to do with me. :O)

I also have another suggestion (although people will roll their eyes but it's still a good one.) If you are not handicapped, obviously you have to sit in the "normal seats.... and sometimes you have to sit in the "nose bleed" section if the place is packed.... This is what you do... after you find your "nose bleed seats" and sit down.... wait till the previews are totally over and the movie begins... if no one handicapped is sitting in the handicapped area.... and lets say you have bad vision (like msyelf... ) or just want a better seat with more room... just move on down to that section. I don't think it's rude or wrong because I would think most handicapped people would get there either early or on time.... but if reality all of a sudden turns into a weird Seinfeld episode and 6 people in wheel chairs show up in the middle of the movie, then you can always get up and hopefully find another seat. :O)

I do have two complaints I want to mention....

I once had a guy sit next to me and try to talk my ear off while I was watching a movie. Very awkward experience because I didn't know him. Crazy.

Also, the last movie I saw was the re-release of Ghostbusters and the guy sitting right behind me said half the lines in the film, as well as hummed the sound track. I totally don't mind LOTS of laughter, but repeating lines and humming RIGHT behind me was p_ssing me off, I have to admit. : O) I also have to admit, there was a young teenaged girl sitting in front of me who had this incredably annoying laugh. It wasn't "normal." Even her own mother told her to "hush" more than a few times, and even told her to "laugh in her hand" I believe. Funny. :P

Over all though I really enjoy this theater. : )

Typical AMC establishment and one of the closest to Officer Candidate School. Get a couple of buddies to share a cab (not the yellow ones, those for hire ones driving unmarked vehicles who will get you there for $15!) drop by the near-by restaurants and catch a movie. Proceed to Brown Field when your fire watch is up.

The movie theater is excellent and has 3D capabilities which is awesome.  The place is clean and updated.  My only thing is the prices of the food, but they have a better selection than a lot of the theaters I've been to.  You can order chicken nuggets or pizza.  The seats are pretty comfortable as they recline (at least in the theater I was in).  Overall a good experience and I'd go back.

Huge fan of AMC theatres...just not a fan of their prices (and what happened to the Student discount they used to offer off tickets anyday of the week-now they just offer it on Thursdays wtf?) AMC Potomac Mills is actually connected to Potomac Mills so its in a convenient ( but congested) area. Parking is ample but it can crazy on weekend evenings. The lobby and theatres are somewhat clean, the seats are somewhat comfortable.

I'm with Rachel S. and others. The morning matinees are tops (especially during the weekdays!) and the theater is pretty dang clean. My feet don't stick to the floor and the seats don't smell of sweat and damp mold. And the stadium seating! Don't get me started! That feature has ruined me forever for other movie theaters...if they don't have it, I ain't going! I love the fold up armrests; I haven't actually folded a couple up and laid down yet, but I think about it a lot...:D The morning matinee prices are $6 for regular movies and $10 for IMAX 3-D, quite a savings. My only criticism is that this place gets JAM PACKED later on in the day and freakin' forget about the weekends! Ugh...loud mouth, rude and all of them trying to out do each other.
