Review from Deryk L.
Lexington Park, MD
I have always had a decent experience at this theater. The theater is is old and in serious need of updating. I have only been on Saturday mornings/afternoons with my children and have been pleased. The service has always been fine as well as the film video/audio quality. I've seen negative remarks concerning the area but I havent experienced anything that would cause me concern--perhaps I wouldn't want to be the last one walking out of there at midnight though.

I've heard this place is sketchy from the locals, but my husband and I went there last night and it was very clean and they served up fresh-popped (delicious) popcorn. It's an older establishment and the seating reminds me of Mann Theaters circa the 1980's. No stadium seating here. Tickets are $12. You can get them cheaper at Costco (We picked them up for $6 each). Parking is very limited. I hear crime is high in the area, so don't leave valuables in your car.

The theater definitely not worth the full price it costs to get in. It's staffed by teens who do an adequate job. This place is run down and well past it's prime. Unless you're in dire need of a movie fix, I'd avoid this place.

In all the years I've lived in Maryland, I've only ever been to this theater four times, and I can recall each one: Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, The Hulk, Reign of Fire, and Megamind.
I think it's fair to say I average seeing at *least* a movie a month. That I've seen just FOUR at this theater should speak volumes. I remember years ago, when I saw (Ang Lee's version of) The Hulk, the lighting was awful, and the sound was poor. I wonder how often this theater gives out refunds?
Phantom Menace came out in 1998, and the theater hasn't changed one bit since then. It's just an old, dilapidated theater, in a run down area, in a town that sucks at developing its infrastructure. The theater is just ugly on the outside, and unkempt on the inside. The food always stinks, the teenagers running the place (and I use the term running loosely) don't really care about their job, and the film selection is awful - you're guaranteed a chance to see the overhyped blockbusters, but you're screwed if you want to see a limited release that may have any substance.
Even worse, the closest theaters are in Waldorf and Prince Frederick, and those are also awful. My advice? Drive to Arlington or DC. -

yikes this theatre is dirtay!! It is packed with tweens, so don't expect to enjoy a quiet movie! Popcorn is stale and it is the same price as a regular theatre!! We will be making the long a#@ drive to waldorf next time we want to see a movie.

A complete and total dump! The staff is useless and rude, the facilities are out dated. Your better off staying home.
