It's really hard to do a review for a place that you go to on a weekly basis. so let's talk about a few points:

Value - I listed this first because who doesn't want to know about how much it will cost to watch a movie. So, if you use fandango to get your tickets, you're also paying a fee - obviously this isn't anything to do with the theater since they're not the ones charging it. having said that, use their kiosk and buy your tickets ahead of time to avoid the fee if you're downtown anyways or just buy it when you get there so you don't have to deal with the line.
--- regular movie is about $11. this doesn't include IMAX or 3D and IMAX 3D.
--- if you want to see a 3D movie, it's another couple of bucks and
    --- if IMAX the same
--- and if it's IMAX 3D, even more -- around $15, i think. I think because i haven't paid to see a movie in a while. Movie screenings are great!! :)

Service - The cashiers seem to be nice and courteous. the ushers generally are nice as well and greet the customers with a smile. The managers are generally helpful if you have a problem, and they would compensate you if you've experienced bad service in the theaters.

This is where I go when I want to watch big, bad-ass new movies.

It really inspires the full cinema experience, all the way down to the movie posters/scenes that line the walls on the way to the theatres--it puts the movie your about to see into the stream/context of all the greats--reminding you about how movies change lives and culture. Love that.

Terrible parking in the area and much more expensive than the average theatre, otherwise I'd give a 5.

Expect to see me here when Dark Knight Rises is released in July. Ho - li - ta - mo - li.

In any industry, one must differentiate in some way to clobber the competition. I do believe the same philosophy applies to movie theaters. Obviously the AMC Loews Boston Common does not.

Location right off the Orange Line was ideal -- a 1-minute walk and voila! Came for a movie screening so it was understandably busy for a Monday night at 6pm -- but it seemed the venue had NO idea how to handle a crowd. There were intertwining lines with disconnected stanchions - lots of people asking questions and exactly zero people with answers. The lone wolf in the AMC uniform wanted absolutely nothing to do with any of the desperate movie-goers in front of him.

Infuriatingly ignorant service aside -- the venue itself was underwhelming. The escalator was OFF so you had to walk up the stairs. I'm all for an excuse to skip the gym, but let me just say  gheeee ttooooo. Then there was the snack bar. Now, I usually refinance my imaginary future home before hitting the movie theater so I can afford some soda and popcorn, but this was ridiculous!  $20 -- no that is not an exaggeration -- for a personal pizza, small (SMALL!!! like, an envelope's-worth) popcorn, and a large soda. WTF (what the f***?! where's the food?! want to feed!!). Okay, whatever, now that my future unborn children can't go to college, I patiently await the arrival of my pizza at the abandoned, unmarked, desolate end of the counter. Seriously, it was like purgatory down there. But I waited.

    And waited.

    And waited.

    And waited.

Literally 15 minutes later the pizza is tossed on the counter nonchalantly by some dingleberry who didn't seem to notice that he took the order in 2011 and delivered it in 2012...

Everything else was good - theater was good, sound quality was good, seats were comfortable, I was impressed with a member of the staff who was handling fraudulent passes in a mature and professional way (blonde woman with glasses, I'm talking to you!).

Wouldn't go back again, unless the movie was free (again). Guess beggers CAN be choosers!

Nice and big theater.  Really the only choice if you're in the middle of Boston.

The concessions (while expensive, but seriously which movie theater isnt?) are pretty good.  They have several lines open at once to make the process go smoothly.  They also have an ice cream/coffee bar which is a nice alternative, especially if you just came from dinner and want dessert.

The individual theaters themselves inside are usually kept clean, and as there are so many screens, for the more popular movies they try to have lots of showings.

Plus it's right across from the Boylson St. T stop on the Green Line and right down the block from the Chinatown stop on the Orange Line so it's very accessible.

I love love LOVE this theater. Although it usually has a fair number of people, it never seems to be overcrowded, the staff are friendly and they are efficient at the ---food counter(?) (blanking on the term).

HOWEVER. What really amazes me is how beautiful it is. The upstairs anyway. There are many posters and pictures of movies throughout the years which are fun to look at, as you walk to your theater, but the walls and the ceilings themselves have a really warm, fun, and kind of - dare I say - magical - look about them. It just makes the movie-going experience better. So, if you're in the city, and want to see a movie, definitely come here. At least once.

Oh, and it's not overpriced. =)

I've worked at TWO movie theatres, just not this one.  The second theatre I have worked at sees just as much business as this AMC does, if not more. (Showcase Cinemas National Amusements)  I've read some recent reviews, and let me critique them from a recent theatre employee's views, then as a customer myself, hopefully this will help.

As far as the price goes, get the hell over that! The employees get a ton of crap for prices that they did NOT make.  The theatre makes them.  I have had a bunch of snot-nose customers who are upset with me because I am simply doing my JOB! Either pay the price, whether it's $20 for popcorn, and a drink, or you just bought a bag of candy for $5, or simpy put... DON'T BUY ANYTHING!!!!  That should not be rocket science, either buy food and keep your mouth shut, or don't buy, and keep your mouth shut.  Another thing too, do not go complain to the managers about prices.  FYI - They have no control over that as well.  However, on the subject of concession, once you've chosen to fork up your life savings for a rather huge bucket of popcorn, (which you can get free refills on, given you buy a large drink as well) I very very much appreciate that I can add my own butter, and the ammount I like.  For people who have not been to the theatre but are looking for reviews on Yelp... do NOT let the price of concession have a factor on your decision to go to this movie theatre.

The next comment I saw a few times is an issue with rodents.  My first theatre, (high school job, less than half the size of Boston's AMC, but none the less it was theatre either way) also delt with rodent problems.  You people need to understand, it's not as simple as "calling pest control", and "taking care of the problem".  The entire theatre would literrly need to be SHUT DOWN.  AMC will LOOSE business. That is not something they can afford, whether you agree or not.  On top of that, to some who are satisfied with the rodent problem being handled, others may not care and instead are turned away because the theatre was closed to handle a select amount of people's personal issue with rodents.  AMC cannot afford to loose business over some people who are terrified of mice, or rats.  (For the record, mice or rats do not swarm the place.  The chances of you see any type of rodent is .5 to 10).  This is where I assume, that the employees of AMC here do handle it.  Meaning they keep them out of customer's view to the best they can do.  They just cannot shut down the theatre, loose business, and take care of a small problem, that even if they did such a thing, would not increase business that much more for handling a very small problem.

I saw a coment that said the customer got lost inside the theatre.... come on. Really?

As far as cleanliness... that is 1,000% all on the employees.  THAT is what their job description is.  To make sure the theatre is presentable.  Not to take $50 bucks out of your pocket.  There is nothing to say about that - if it is filthy.  The employees are not doing their job.  I can not fend from them on that.  I've yet to experience, as a customer, an attrocious bathroom, but I'm sure they have their days.

That is all I can address as an employee who's worked at two movie theatres, who is now back to his high school theatre, and some of the complaints that people are being ridiculous about, and what they do not understand.  Do not give the employees crap for prices they did not make.  Think of the bigger picture here.

    As a customer...

This is a movie theatre.  It plays movies.  I dig that.  All the theatre set ups were great. Stadium eating, never had a volume problem, concession (regardless of price) is good, hot fresh popcorn, ice cold drinks, I've tried their motzy sticks, 9/10. I saw Avengers in Imax over there... I'm so sad to say, their imax is... well... crap. It's honestly no different from their biggest screen in general auditotoriums. Yet, it's sectioned off from the other auditoriums like it is VIP. LOL. iMax is on the first floor, and everything else is upstairs.  i've yet to experience a bad employee, who does not do their job well.  Some people need to understand, that they will NEVER find a company that provides %100 great employee service.  Every company in the WORLD has that one not so friendly employee that they just happen to have run into.

In conclusion, if you want to see a movie in downton Boston, come here.  If you want to enjoy decent concession food, and are willing to pay the price, come here.  If you are very picky about what this theatre needs, or needs better, do not come here.  (This should really be at the top of my review)

This theater is a humungous rip-off, but really, what movie theater isn't?

There are things that I like about this theater and things that I don't like.

In no particular order, the things that I like:

-There are lots of screens which means lots of movies to choose from!
-It's decently clean (and that includes the bathrooms)
-The seats don't break my back after 2 hours of sitting in them
-The pictures and posters on the walls from old classic films are pretty neat
-It's right on the Red Line, which is convenient for me since I live way over yonder in Arlington
-Last time I went, the ticket kiosk spit out not one but THREE vouchers for a free small popcorn (I'm pretty sure that wasn't supposed to happen and I'm not entirely sure I'll be able to use all three of them, but you better believe I'm going to try!)

    What I don't like:

-A small popcorn and soda cost me about the same as a sandwich from Roast Beast would, but aren't nearly as satisfying and delicious.
-I've never gotten through the concession stand line quickly - the workers seem to be perpetually moving in slow motion
-I've come here on weekdays and I've come here on weekends, and in my experience it has always been packed, which can be exciting or annoying depending on your mood.

But overall, a nice theater in a convenient location.

Never thougth I'd be writing a review for a movie theatre, but here I go! First of all, most theatres I've been to have sticky floors, nasty restrooms, and stale popcorn smushed into the carpeted lobbies, but this AMC Loews is freaking clean! I wasn't expecting that from a theatre in the middle of the city. This place is HUGE, and I thought the classic movie posters lining the vast hallways were a nice touch. We ordered cappuccinos, which was cool, but the service was pretty slow considering we were the only two people in line.

My boyfriend being 6'5" and me being 5'7", we decided to make our way up to the last row in the theatre in search of ample legroom. I found the seats to be much more comfortable than in most theatres, and of course the extra legroom was fantastic (my knees didn't crack in pain like at other theatres). I have no idea how my boyfriend copes with tiny spaces lol. All in all, we will be back! I'd like to try hitting this place up before noon on weekends when the price is right.

This place is a monstrosity, really it is. You can get so lost in there. This could be good or bad depending on how you see it. The prices are ridiculous, like really not worth what you would spend for a stupid candy bar. You have to get there super early or may not even be able to sit next to your party. The only good thing is how they have movies showing at all times of day & night.

    Incredibly proactive customer service!

Our viewing of Shark Night 3D (a disaster - see it when it comes out on Lazertron, the mythical format that will never exist) seemed a little off. Turns out, the house lights remained on for the entire show and it was only noticed 20 minutes before the credits rolled.

Only a minor inconvenience, yet after the blue screen of GTFO, a manager asked us if we enjoyed the film. "Oh yeah," we lied. "It was awesome!"

He apologized profusely, reaffirming the slightly-present glow of the house lights and offered us a Re-Admit Pass as restitution. Any movie, any time, free.

We didn't complain. Hell, most of us didn't even notice. But they still nipped the problem in the bud and invited us back for free. Chain or not, $9 popcorn or not, that's just right and proper customer attention.

Cheers to you and your thousand screens AMC Loews on the Common!

...I mean seriously, its a movie theater, lol. My favorite theaters are the ones that serve food and beverages, sometimes alcohol, so you can't really get five stars without making me feel like I'm chilling in my living room with all my neighbors. Anyway, yeah, pretty standard. Its really close to the Park St. T stop so if you're taking the train its a really easy commute. I would not recommend trying to drive here. Its also right across from the Common so if you're on a cheesy dinner & movie date, why not end the lame...I mean, awesome night, with a stroll in the park. Congratulations, you can officially say that you keep American cliches alive;)

Alright, alright, enough...this place is always packed! Thursday's are Student Discount days so you already know what time it is. Unless you really need the dollar off, or really like massive crowds of 18-22 y/o, I'd recommend staying the hell away. Friday and Saturday aren't really any better so I'll recant the last sentence. It's a theater for Jezebel's sake...its always going to be packed unless you're going at noon on a Tuesday (great time to have the theater to yourself and act an ass like the people I've been talking about this whole review).

Warning: I don't do movie theater food unless it comes in a box. Aside from inflation, my taste buds don't like being disrespected, my stomach doesn't like being assaulted, and waistline doesn't feel good about herself the next morning. With that being said, there's actually a non-personal reason why you shouldn't eat this shit either. I saw two mice in here. Yes, at first it was just one...pretty scary when you're tying to watch a movie and you have to worry about whether the mouse running through the theater is going to try to hitch a ride in your handbag. I guess along the minor commotion he sought the aid of a friend. #nastyashell

When I was younger I used to LOVE this theater and that is the only reason I'm giving it 3 stars. If I was just judging based on the experience I had with it last year I would give it a 1 star. Last year sometime in August we went to see a movie and while waiting for the movie to start saw two mice run right by us, needless to say we never went back. Hopefully they have fixed that problem since last August because this theater defiantly is in need of an upgrade for the type of prices they charge.

I have been here a few times over the last two years.  I love AMC theaters in general.

This one is a large with theaters on two floors.  An escalator or elevator takes you upstairs.

The staff is friendly and helpful.  Theaters and main areas are clean.

Man, people apparently become total movie snobs when they have access to theaters like this. I've lived in several small towns and have been in some very lousy theaters. This theater is HUGE. Very big halls and decent climate control (it was 104 out when I went yesterday and was happy to escape the heat and retreat into a nicely air conditioned theater).

Now, about the experience. I saw Super 8 in IMAX here and it was unbelievable. The girlfriend complained it was too loud but being a movie buff it's exactly what I look for. A sound-system with bass you can feel in your chest when the action starts! You know what I'm talkin' about. And the screen! IMAX screens are as good as they get when paired with the right movie. Even the non-IMAX screens here are very nice; in great condition, clean, and the pictures (in my experience) have always been calibrated well so that it doesn't go off the edge like at some theaters. The seats are comfortable and have arms that raise, which is always a plus when you're with your significant other.

The only thing that takes away from the experience here for me is, well, the other patrons. Last night at Captain America, the first 5 minutes of the movie was two groups of people fighting and yelling at each other and cursing loudly and even throwing stuff.

I haven't become an AMC Stubb's member yet but seems like it might be a good idea if you see more than 10 movies a year.

Of all the movie theaters in Boston, I love this one the most. It makes going to a movie feel like a big event, which it should when you're shelling out $15 for a ticket. The building is huge and fancy, with movies quotes painted on the ceiling and old movie posters lining the walls (although there are some repeats!)

The staff is competent and friendly, the theaters are kept clean by what is probably an army of ushers, the picture and sound is good, and the concessions are yummy. I haven't been to an IMAX presentation at this theater yet, but I can only imagine the experience will live up to the quality of the other shows I have seen.

Bonus! There are a lot of premiere/screenings here, so you run a decent chance of a celebrity sighting. I'm gonna use this opportunity to brag about the time Marky Mark winked at me.

I love the fact that there is a theater right in downtown Boston.  I have been here probably 5 times over the past 8 years I've lived here. I certainly should go more often since I work in Downtown Crossing.  Last time I went was last week when we went to the 6:30 showing of Rise of the Planet of the Apes.  I do think it's cool how they have 5:25pm shows for right when us 9-5ers get out of work.

This theater is old compared to new fancy places like Legacy Place.  It's a little rustic - the bathrooms, seats, carpets are all a little worn out.  The food selection is basic - popcorn, nachos, candy, soda, hot dog, etc.

    Service is friendly.

It's just expensive.  The food is crazy expensive - $7.00+ for a large popcorn?  Their large is way smaller than the Fenway theater's popcorn.

I'll be back since it's near my work, but I wish they would add more healthier (and possibly vegan) food options!  The student discount on (Tuesdays?) is pretty awesome.

This is one of my favorite theaters. If you can get past dealing with downtown Boston, paying for parking and annoying teenagers, then you might want to try it too!

The IMAX screen is huge (though not as huge as the Aquarium's) and my absolute favorite on which to watch a 3-D IMAX movie. Yes, the upcharges for IMAX & 3-D are ridiculous, but with some movies sooo worth it. The tickets in general are slightly more expensive than going to the movies in the suburbs ($1 more I think?).

The rest of the theater itself is cool, with movie posters and quotes all over the walls leading down to the theaters.

As a student, I get the $6 passes that are good for movies that have been out in theaters for over 2 weeks instead of the $11.50 adult ticket.  If I didn't have that discount through my student activities center, I would not ever be going here.  It's a pity movies are so expensive to go see in theaters now... no wonder piracy is such a growing problem.

It is Boston's big, downtown movie theater. It makes the movie going experience a seem a slightly better value when the theater is grand, in the theater district and is typically crowded. Nothing makes it the rapacious rates of the movie theater feel worse than driving, parking and then waltzing in to an empty theater: like you are the only one who got fooled into such an activity.

Yes, it attracts the gamut, and some of that gamut is unruly and horribly annoying in a film watching environment. To me, the uptick in experience negates the detractions.

Great Dolby digital. Complete, albeit outrageous (even for a movie theater) concessions. Lots of screens, so your options are myriad. And, this is one of the only Fandango theaters in the Boston metro.

Do yourself a favor and take the T- driving/parking is just a bad idea in or near DTX

This is NOT my favorite place to see a movie... for that... I would hit up Dedham.

This location gets CRAZED with tourists (why you would travel to Boston and see a movie, I do not know) and has yet to figure out a way to handle the crowds.

The bathrooms never seem quite right and because its in DT Boston, well... there are too many different types of movie goers for my taste.

Its like driving- some cities seem to have really bad drivers to me... but its just because I am only familiar with what BOSTONIAN drivers do on the roads.  So things like rolling at every stop sign drive me INSANE which things like cutting me off with no warning are just fine with me.

I DON'T want people talking, screaming, translating or eating a gigantic thing of Nachos for the entire movie.

Makes me want to run straight to Kendall and hide in the respectful quietude.

Eww!!!!  Disgustingly dirty theater!  Go somewhere else!!

We saw the 9pm showing of CARS 2 in theater 6 on 7/3/11.  2 adults, 2 kids.  We had to move rows twice so we could find seats where our feet didn't stick to the floor.  The theater had clearly not been cleaned from the previous showing.

The bathrooms were gross.  Mens room - puddles of pee in front of the urinals, no paper towels.   Women's room - two clogged toilets and no toilet paper.

Third floor and main lobbies - strewn with popcorn and trash.

I believe that when you pay 11.50 for a ticket the place should be clean.  Complained to the manager who was nice and apologized but seemed to be clueless about the obviously horrible conditions right before here eyes. said she relied on others who reported things were clean.  we suggested she get out and take a look around!

on the plus side the movie was great and the digital projection quality was excellent.  The filthiness just ruined it though.

This is a perfectly fine example of a huge chain stadium-seating type movie theatre. It's big, there are lots of screens. Lots of overpriced snacks. They've got what my husband and I call "cuddle seats;" the arms lift up so you can get closer to your neighbor if you so desire. The location's convenient- right near Park Street and Boylston Street stations.

But be prepared to deal with the terrible people that go to these theatres. The person who's constantly texting in the otherwise dark theatre. The teenagers who won't shut up. The people who talk back to the movie. The kids kicking your chair. They're all here.

I don't go here a lot- mostly whenever there's a new movie out that's not playing at one of the other theatres I like better. Or because it's halfway between me and a friend. Or I scored free tickets to a screening. Or maybe I want to see a particular film in 3D. But usually I like to go to a smaller theatre- maybe the Capitol or the Somerville.

This theater offers a great selection of films and a few great deals that keep me coming back.

All movies before noon are $6 even on weekends!! You can't beat that in Boston. A 3-D movie for $10 is another great thing about the $6 AM cinema.

Yes they are commercial and if you go primetime on a friday or saturday night it's insane but I had lovely experiences in off-times.

They also participate in Fandango which some smaller independent movie theatres do not and coupon sites have been offering great deals on Fandango tickets as well.

The location is super convenient. You do sometimes get a weird mix of people but the theatres are so big--it dosen't matter.

This is a huge theater, with many film selections. Yada yada yada.

What I love about this theater are the pictures that line the walls. They are monstrous screen caps from iconic films so as you make your way to your theater you walk past the history of Hollywood.

This is also the theater where I brought my group when I was a summer camp counselor and the theater was always very kind and accommodating to our large group.

Why do people wait in that ungodly long line for tickets when there are serve yourself ticket machines if you're paying by credit card? Those aren't for pre-order pick-up only, they're also for those of us who don't think that far in advance.

And.... ok, I am aware that I am about to sound like an old lady.... but why are the previews so LOUD?! I get it, you have a powerful sound system, Loews. But I like my hearing the way it is. Your previews physically hurt. Chill out.

GIANT multi-theatre venue, plenty of options, lots of escalators, comfy seating, clean theatres, convenient location, score.

The theatre ran out of popcorn. What is that about?

Expensive tickets but still the best option in downtown boston - maybe the only option.

    Was this review …?

Pricey tickets but a nice selection of films ranging from blockbuster to eclectic art flicks, great seating and crystal clear picture with an impressively loud sound system.  Went in the middle of the day largely to kill time and as such was not met with any lines or hassels.

It isn't the best theater out there, but it certainly is conveniently located.

I come here pretty much every friday to meet up with college friends and watch whatever movie has been released that week. It's in a great location, across from Boston Common and right outside the Boylston T stop, but it's been there for quite a while.

Although not a BAD movie theater, it's not the nicest. Thing is, the newer movie theaters are, the more inclined you are to go. AMC Loews has been here for a while and it's age is starting to show.  The seats are getting scratchy and resemble more of a cramped economy class plane seat than a comfy "i'd like to sit here for two hours" seat.

they have random arcade machines strewn throughout different hallways which seem like haphazardly chosen areas rather than a designated arcade corner. Their games are pretty old too, which doesn't help.

The best part are their posters. Every movie poster hung up is a classic. An iconic window to American cinema. If anything, this movie theater knows its movies, and it SHOULD. They should just get to know their competition and what they offer so that they could improve on their interior.

I love the fact that there a large stadium seating theater in the middle of downtown Boston. It doesn't look that big from the outside but I'm still amazed at how many theaters they have. Where does all the room go?!

They love their big budget movies like any large theater chain but I have to give them props to catering to more eclectic moviegoers. I was able to see Black Swan and Blue Valentine here and apparently they were the only theaters in Boston to be showing it at the time. Not even Coolidge Corner or Kendall Sq was showing them at the time. Granted they leave a lot quicker than other movies but it's still pretty awesome.

I also have to mention that we had a small (albeit relatively important) error in the middle of a pivotal scene of a movie. The ending was somewhat missed but you could get the gist and the sound was brought back quickly. This happens with theaters on occasion but the management handled it really well. They gave us free movie passes to another showing of our choice and apologized profusely. They handled it very well.

The prices are outrageous but they have to pay for that prime location somehow. It's close by and I'll continue to be a very good customer to them!

Just get there super early for anything that is remotely popular.

I stopped here for the first time to go see Harry Potter. I probably will end up going to this place again since it's so close to my apartment, but I can tell you what I won't do when I go there:

I WON'T show up 20 minutes before the movie starts and expect to get a ticket. The place was filled with Muggles who managed to buy out all of the tickets before I could say "Accio Ticket".

I WON'T attempt to order two regular coffees any less than 45 minutes before the movie starts. The person working the coffee/specialty coffee/milkshake counter had clearly been hit with an "Arresto Momentum" spell that slowed her down considerably. I believe I said that she was slower than an escargot. (Yup. So slow, she was a dead, cooked snail).

I WON'T wear open toed shoes at this location, nor would I ever put my purse on the floor. The employees here need to brush up on "Avada Kedavra" and kill the rodents that are taking over the theater.

But yeah. They do play movies. And I do like movies.

An average moviegoing experience, but why are there posters from all these movies that are no longer playing?

Also, the pretzel bites taste like dust to me.

It's a movie theatre. They play movies. I like it.

Better than average for the following reasons:

Super-convenient to get to from almost anywhere.
    Clean-ish.
    Enormous.
A slightly lower number of teenagers than at suburban theatres.

That's really it. It is crowded when you would expect it to be crowded, empty when you would expect it to be empty. Sour Patch Kids and a large Coke will run you $9. In the daytime there are weirdos. In the nighttime there are also weirdos. Comfy enough seats. Clean enough bathrooms. Many dinner options nearby.

    Yeah. I like it.

2 stars for location on a college campus/ annoying coeds
    3 stars for overall cleanliness
1 star for two separate mouse-in-theater incidents
5 stars for minimal crowding at off-peak hours
    4 stars for selection

If I never heard another 19-22yo female screaming, "OMG IT'S A F*ING MOUSE" again, it might be too soon.

In other news, I go here a fair amount and I'm impressed that I haven't come away with bedbugs yet. Way to be cleanly, Emerson bebes.

I've seen a TON of movies at this location and it's my preferred one. Why?

    1) The location - RIGHT next to the Boylston T stop. I live on the Green line, so it's perfect for me!

    2) It's one of the nicer theaters - stadium seating, Digital Projection, IMAX. The seats have individual cup holders and arm rests that pull up (make sure you don't have a drink in the cup holder if you pull the arm rest up!). The seats are tall and comfy, with a good amount of leg room.

    3) Plenty of bathrooms, so you rarely have to wait in line, if you know which one to go to.

Concession-wise, it's not the best. The upstairs concession stand doesn't have spectacular popcorn (I've heard the downstairs one is better & fresher) and they have another one that's never even open! For bigger movies, they wheel a concession stand into the theater itself, but I think they charge a bit more for that.... Concessions are a bit pricey here too, but no more than other theaters that I can think of, and as an AMC Movie Watcher, you can save some money.

Price-wise, I believe it is a pricier theater than others in the area. But we use passes or buy online - or find some other way to save a bit of money (hello matinees!).

I've been to this theatre a number of times. Two of those times were on Christmas Day(s), which are extremely busy days & probably not the best experience to write a review on...

So, last Sunday, I decided to go catch a $6 matinee of The Fighter. There were only about 10 or 15 people in the theatre. The previews were showing when suddenly the screen went black. I think everyone thought the movie was going to start. So, we waited. And waited. And waited. (*popcorn crunching behind me*). Then, finally a woman came into the theatre. She said they were having trouble getting the bulb to strike on the projector. She apologized that the film would be starting a bit late (10mins), and that everyone would get a free movie pass on their way out. Not a bad deal at all! Which movie should I go to see next? :D

Accessible by multiple bus lines, the Red and Green subway lines, and within dead-cat swinging distance of a ton of restaurants and bars for before- and after-movie jejunerie - these things alone would be enough to give it 3 stars.

Add to it the fact that the theaters are kept scrupulously clean, they offer multiple ways to buy your tickets - either from real people, automated credit card machines, or buy online at Fandango and just pick 'em up at those machines, you've got your fourth star there.

Then on top of that is the cavernous, high-ceilinged space that makes you feel like you're in a grand theatah, and the staff who are more than just the usual sullen teenagers - you're still on the 4th star, but here's where the big one comes in.

Last night, I came directly from work and saw a show, with my stupid work bag with me. Out popped my Mp3 player onto the floor, unbeknownst to me, and the next day when I couldn't find it, I knew what must have happened and was convinced that it was gone forever.

    NOT SO!

A call to one of the managers over there revealed this statement:

"We found your Mp3 player, and we're holding it in the lost and found.  Just come in anytime, and ask for a manager and tell them it's yours."

You guys are the best.  Who cares about ticket prices. They're the same everywhere you go. So's the popcorn.  It's all about the experience and the customer service and that's where these guys shine like a 1920's train station wingtip buff job.

    Thanks again!
